DCS F-14D wip

Hello folks! I am working on an F-14D Super Tomcat for DCS world with two other members of the community. We already have the jet done and animated and are in the process of building a flight model as well as the cockpit and hopefully, if we can get some help.. model an accurate D model pit with clickable buttons.. The part about this? IT WILL BE COMPLETELY FREE!!!!! Here is the imgur link for the wip pictures. http://imgur.com/a/qcCNX#0

What cockpit is used? There are no pictures of the cockpit, that is where all the time goes in before release. In fact years just on the cockpit as far as I remember from comments on time to release on other modules here. Flying the F-14 in a Su-25T cockpit is not interesting.

right now it is using a private f18 pit. I am gonna be working on the tomcats pit as much as I can, but I need a damn good modeler and animations guy to help make this a reality. The FM is also going to be better than an sfm but not quite an efm but close. We are working on the fm right now and are programming it to have automatic wing sweep. it is also airborne refueling capable right now

Guys, for the begining you should make it in FC3 level - less time for development and more pleasure for users. After continue making clickable cockpit.

Its already pretty much at fc3 level minus working pit. we are really focusing on providing the most accurate flight model we can with the limited resources we are working with. For the time being, the plane isn't weapons capable, but it is a consideration. Once I get the pilots head positioning correct I'll post screens of the basic pit I have in it for now.

will it compatible with EDGE in the future?

As far as I know, edge is just a rendering system and won't affect planes and or modules that are in the works. The only thing I can foresee them doing with edge is changing the physical 3d model type from .edm to something new like they did when fc2 evolved into DCS world, therefore discarding the .lom model extension.

Any word on the F-18 for DCS? I was just wondering

Honestly, I would not expect any new on Hornet until this time next year at the earliest.
Just multiply that date by an empirical correction factor based on past release date predictions and you should be good.

Empirical correction factor? What is that?

Would ED ever consider doing the F111? its out of service now everywhere but back in the day it was a top line fighter bomber (esp during the first gulf war).

If they did, they would have to include a Vietnam, Central Europe, or Persian Gulf theater, along with other time period-appropriate platforms. Otherwise, it would just look weird.

This again? Then please explain why we have the P-51D and the A-10C. Neither of those have any history in the Georgian-Russian border area. The DCS FAQ quite clearly mentions "sandbox".

I WANT THE VARK REALLY BAD!!! An F-111D/E or even F would be great. That would be a fun pit to build and fly with a friend. We need 2-seat aircraft with all avionics working for 2-seat pit building. I love my Hog, and it is definitely my favorite, but I would love to build an F-111 pit and do Night-Time Bombing with the radar or PAVETACK Pod

The main reason I suggested it is because its out of service so in theory, getting the specs, etc should be easier than trying to get specs, etc for say an in-service FA/18 or F22 or whatever.

From the F111 wiki, this is my favourite line:

"One F-111 could carry the bomb load of four McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom IIs"

Performance

Maximum speed: Mach 2.5 (1,650 mph, 2,655 km/h) at altitude

Combat radius: 1,330 mi[discuss] (1,160 nmi, 2,140 km)

Ferry range: 4,200 mi (3,700 nmi, 6,760 km) ; with external drop tanks

Service ceiling: 66,000 ft (20,100 m)

Rate of climb: 25,890 ft/min (131.5 m/s)

Wing loading:

Spread: 126.0 lb/ft² (615.2 kg/m²)

Swept: 158 lb/ft² (771 kg/m²)

Thrust/weight: 0.61

Lift-to-drag ratio: 15.8

Armament

Guns: 1× 20 mm (0.787 in) M61 Vulcan 6-barreled Gatling cannon in weapons bay (seldom fitted)

Hardpoints: 9 in total (8× under-wing, 1× under-fuselage between engines) plus 2 attach points in weapons bay with a capacity of 31,500 lb (14,300 kg) and provisions to carry combinations of:

Bombs:

Free-fall general-purpose bombs

Mk 82 (500 lb/227 kg)

Mk 83 (1,000 lb/454 kg)

Mk 84 (2,000 lb/907 kg)

Mk 117 (750 lb/340 kg)

Cluster bombs

BLU-109 (2,000 lb/907 kg) hardened penetration bomb

Paveway laser-guided bombs, including 2,000 lb (907 kg) GBU-10, 500 lb (227 kg) GBU-12 and GBU-28, specialized 4,800 lb (2,200 kg) penetration bomb

BLU-107 Durandal runway-cratering bomb

GBU-15 electro-optical bomb

AGM-130 stand-off bomb

is nice....

Well, the 'Vark wants you even more...

It would be nice to see the F-111 and the Pave Tack in action. In fact, if we get the F-111, we should also get the F-4G, since those two were major platforms of their time.

In fact, why not make a "The Eighties: The Decade That Made the USAF" module?

What about a Predator drone? I mean, it'd be world's easiest assembled simpit for starters, and second, who wouldn't love the module name "Game of Drones"? :D

I didn't have the patience to read all the pages of this thread so forgive me if this has already been suggested.. but Id really like to see the B1-B in both conventional and nuclear strike variants..

Itching to do some low-level flying combined with carpet bombing, or perhaps a nuclear SIOPS run deep into enemy territory.

Would be great to have the Russian version as well.

I think it should be the current aircraft available in the DCS World,

F/A-18C, F-16C Block 52, F-15E, F-14 where those were in current 1980s-1990s timeline to be make fly able first before those F/A-18E, F/A-22, F-35, which was recent 2000s-2010s latest combat aircraft,

it will be unbalanced for the Russian side that currently still with the old

Su-27 Flanker-B, Su-33, MIG-29A, MIG-29S, Su-25, Su-25T.

the F/A-22 and F-35 should be out together with Sukhoi PAK-FA,

the F/A-18E should be out together with Su-35BM, MIG-35

the F/A-18C, F-16C Block 52, F-15E, F-14 should be out together with

Su-27SM3, MIG-29M, MIG-25PDSL, Su-25KM, Su-24M2, MIG-23MLA....
