Whilst i've been dabbling around with the bridges, the roads caught my attention :)

 

These roads are still work-in-progress, texture resolutions are the same as the originals

Road looks nice compared to default one :O

I have tim - shouldn't road be more "blacky" ? I think asphalt is more black than grey. What do you think about road markings? i mean you know painted shapes on the road:

I like the new road textures but shouldn`t there be only white lines not white and black?

 

Well, this is the texture i've been using, sampled from a real road surface

i can make those black bits vanish if peeps don't like them ;)

IMHO roads look live very well, much better than stock. About white lines - in Poland example that road marking types are usually placed closer to bigger cities\new built roads\or to help keep your eye see the road, and another reasons.

However mostly you see only white strips. Hmmm it is Ukraine and Russia.... I like this version with white likes, but I guess more realistic will be roads with strips only :)

 

EDIT: Damn, I'll use both I guess, I like it.

The road surface looks great Mustang but I think your layout bit has been repainted with a new mid line. Maby it has been a solid mid line and then grained away to make a new painting but leaving a black tarmack line in the middle. But then again I don't know roads in Russia or Georgia.

OK, i've created a working .cdds of this mod, but i'm having a little problem making it a MODMAN install package.

 

For this mod to work correctly, the following lines have to entered into the graphics.cfg:

 

winter = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\Road_Textures_Black_v2.cdds";

autumn = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\Road_Textures_Black_v2.cdds";

common = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\Road_Textures_Black_v2.cdds";

spring = ".\\Bazar\\Terrain\\Surface\\Road_Textures_Black_v2.cdds";

 

question: does anyone know how to make MODMAN Mods Maker tool enter these lines correctly automatically?

 

If not, i'll have to give instructions on how to install it manually.

It seems like for some people, Modman automatically parses CDDS lines, and for others, it doesn't. (Doesn't for me, but I've heard from multiple others that it can do it just fine.)
