If you turn on your ECM (and leave it on) while fencing in you might as well leave the outside lights on as well... ;)

Not really the case in DCS, and totally not the case in reality.

BTW I also have a question regarding radio coms.

In the flight manual, radio com section, p 634, you see a list that should show up when you're talking to your flight (F2) :

F1 : Navigation

F2 : Engage

(...)

F7 : Fence In

F8 : Fence Out

(...)

Those 2 options never show up. They should allow you to tell your wingman to turn on and off his collision lights and ECM. Nothing game breaking but it's a bit annoying to see your wingman with all his lights on while flying at night above enemy territory.

If I remember correct, they were dropped somewhere along the beta road. The w,ingmen mirror your settings now, at least the lights. So you need to activate them during startup and when you set them to 'off' pinky switch-middle position your wingman should go dark as well.

Ok thanks guys all is well now. But after watching some videos i notice that theirs a way to look around the cockpit that's different then useing the normal Numpad. Anyone get what im talking about? and know what keys they are?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but two possibilities come to mind: mouse look and head-tracker.

You can activate mouse look by pressing LALT + c (that's the default anyways). It's a cool way to freely look around the cockpit by using your mouse. Press LALT + c again to return to the normal cursor mode where the mouse cursor can click things in the cockpit.

A head tracker is the luxurious free-look variant, translating real head movement to in-cockpit virtual head movement (and grossly exaggerating the virtual head movement so that your virtual head can look backwards while your real eyes still look at the monitor).

TrackIR is a commcercial head tracker, but there are also ways to utilize a webcam as head-tracker like FaceTrackNoIR.

A lot of simmers use such head-trackers and you'll likely see them in use in a lot of DCS vids.

If that's not what you were referring to, you should give us a few more hints. Anyways, go get a head-tracker as soon as possible, it'll be a life-altering experience when it comes to flight sims (though generally the consensus is that with combat flight sims, a HOTAS is more important than a head-tracker). :)

Your wingman will mirror your settings for the nav lights but that's all.

Both strobe and formation lights will stay on until you order him to attack something.

After rearming :

1. press and hold any buttons on the bottom of the left MFCD.

A menu will appear with "display program" in the middle.

2.On the right column click "LOAD" then click DSMS on the bottom.

DSMS change to LOAD.

3.Click LOAD.

the DTS load menu will open.

4.Click LOAD DSMS on the left column.

Wait till all the small dots reappear

5. Press and hold one of the bottom button

The display program menu will pop up

6. Click DSMS on the left column and click LOAD on the bottom.

Done !

completely desperate....

Hello all.

i don't know where to place my thread, my english is not very good..

I am using DCS a10 and my Joysticks are Thrustnaster Warthog.

I installed them perfectly and my profile was exactly the same as what we use in the a10.

Everything worked correctly until i try to configure my Saitek combat pedals...

I lost everything !!!!

all inputs are mixted...

Who could tell me what goes where ?

I lost all my evening to try to replace them but i will trash my computer if i can't find how to do.

my rudder now is set to pitch, lost throttle...

Help please, i'm tired to try to find it in forums.

Can i erase a file somewhere to just replace my inputs of thrustmaster ?

It was corret before installing rudders...

I've attached a copy of my hotas throttle, warthog, and saitek pro flight pedals. You can overwrite your files located at C:\Users\*YOURUSERNAME*\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick. My files are defualt with the exception of the throttles that have been corrected from the backwards defaults and non extant button assignments removed.

Please be sure you have the latest version of the game installed. Check on the main menu lower right hand corner. It should say something "1.2.1.6288".

You could also try "repairing" World via the short cut in the Eagle Dynamics > DCS World > Repair DCS World.

Good luck.

How can I save and copy the Hotas control settings for printing? I can see the HTML button but I cant work out how to save and print it

I may be missing something here. Last time I tried it, it was pretty straightforward. Pushing the "Make HTML" button opens the Windows Explorer at C:\Users\{username}\Saved Games\DCS\InputLayoutsTxt\A-10C Real. That folder contains some rather big HTML files that should open in your favorite web-browser on double click. From there you can use your browser's print function (or fire up an HTML editor to shrink the files to the necessary minimum).

It seems the files are written/generated every time the "Make HTML" buttons gets pushed, so if you change any key assignments, make sure to push the button again.

Hello Bigfoot MSR.

Thanks very much for your files.

Sorry to reply so late, i work 12 hours a day and sometimes too tired to work on my problems after my job.

I tryed your files and i still have some axis not working properly.

My game see axis for "roll" but not working at all.

DCS still see some axis in double, like rudders and throttle but i don't know why, it works.

My only axis not working for now is "Roll" axis.

I did not tryed to configure my toe brakes for now.

My problem is certainly somewhere in the game because i fly with FSX from Microsoft and every axis are working perfectly with toe brakes and my MFD's too !

I don't ose to try them in DCS for now...

I don't know where to go in the game to change these axis not working...

Have a nice day...

Steff.

new to me....

Hi there... I need some direction!

For the first time since I started this sim, I have little red indicators and little green indicators flashing, flipping and spinning but none of the labels I'm used to... I have not knowingly asked for this! I understand what it's about, but never had or asked for it before....

What have I ga-finger-poked or nodded my head in agreement to?

Any direction would be appreciated.

sorry about the ambiguity.... it was 'game avionics', thanks Smokey.

This is what I meant.... red diamonds for enemy, green triangles for friendlies.... No idea how it came about, but I'm back to what I'm used to.... thanks again!

Hopefully this time I managed to attach the track...

Thanks again gents....

About DSMS settings for slicks and ballutes

Hello,

I'd like to know how to use DSMS options DESTOF and MINALT in relation to EJECT/ RACK/ UP/ RT to correct for bombing errors.

Basically what I'd like to ask is, which of these is implemented?

Second, I'd like to know if LD TOF and HD TOF work in the sim.

For example:

I'm at 4000, I get 18 seconds on the HUD for a TTIN and I engage autopilot. I maintain a steady speed using combo of airbrakes and throttle changes.

THEN I set DSMS LD TOF to 17 seconds and HD TOF to 1 second. So when I release the chute 82, from these parameters, will the chute deploy maybe 17th second for 1 second or is it not implemented?

In other words, can the chute time be controlled?

ALSO

According to the manual:

HD TOF. High drag time of fall in seconds. This value determines the behavior of the Desired Release Cue (DRC) on the HUD for CCIP and CCRP bomb delivery. When set to 0, no DRC is displayed.

LD TOF. Low drag time of fall in seconds. This value determines the behavior of the Desired Release Cue (DRC) on the HUD for CCIP and CCRP bomb delivery. When set to 0, no DRC is displayed.

AND

Weapon Eject Velocity (OSB 9). Set ejection velocity of pod between -10 and +30 feet per second.

Bomb Rack Delay (OSB 10). Set bomb rack delay between -0.40 and +0.40.

Horizontal Offset (OSB 7). Set horizontal offset of weapon between -15 and +15 mils.

Vertical Offset (OSB 8). Set vertical offset of weapon between -15 and +15 mils.

How to use Mils to bomb? What is the size of the CCIP bombing reticle at its widest portion? 5 mils? Referring to PLT OPT = MAN REL setting and not CR CCIP.

Does anybody have a dashed PBIL/solid PBIL speed /pitch angle/ altitude chart for DCS A-10C?? I know there is a LASTE bombing guide but I don't think it applies to Charlie.

I noticed v1.2.2 is released, can someone tell if I will have to AGAIN re install the new 1.2.2 modules after installing World v1.2.2 or will the auto updater take care of this?

EDIT** I did the update and found my answer...

Which is?? I'm curious to know "cause I'd liek to update but I really don't feel like reinstalling the modules.

Thx!
