I think there is a lot of mileage left in FSX. I've got it with the PMDG 737NGX, REX, GEX, UTX, Mega airport Heathrow, World of AI and Shade and it looks amazing. 10x better than DCS A-10 (sorry, but it's true!) .

i did laugh reading .. fsx is better than dcs a10c..hehe

Hi,

I meant better looking which you can't really deny when equipped with the addons I've mentioned, though considering they cost considerably more it isn't a particularly fair comparison. Also, the PMDG 737NGX is, in my opinion, as good as DCS A-10 as an aircraft. I have extensive hours on both. I find it difficult to say better (though I dare say it is) because to compare them in complexity isn't fair - one is a brand new jet liner, the other is an old jet with some upgraded avionics. Both great sims, though. Also have to mention that the NGX acts within 5% of all boeing expected numbers, and when flown side by side with full motion simulators it's (almost) identical in behaviour - Unfortunately I do believe DCS A-10 has a real competitor for "best flight model".

Granted, DCS has better optimisation, but then I prefer civilian sims over military, so it's obvious which I'd use for flying!

The thought that MS are alienating their main audience in the hopes of snagging a few million casual gamers to drop a small chunk of change on a sub par arcade flight game doesn't really phase me. I did like the potential that the VRS Tacpack was heading with fsx, and I do intend to have a go some time soon. But I am truly excited about the upcoming DCS fighter. With it will come a truly realistic fighter experience, with the most detailed simulation of a fighter jet to date no doubt. The depth of the avionics will surely trump most other sims, maybe even a-10c, and with the upcoming EDGE terrain system which will bring new life to the world we fly in, the possible graphical migistry allowed by Dx11 effects, hopefully a new theatre of war, and with the expansions allowed to game dynamics through the addition of upgraded mission editor capabilities towards something resembling a dynamic campaign system, I will be like... "there are other sims? But why? We have everything we could ever want!"

So Microsoft might be able to squeeze a few extra bucks out of a few unsuspecting casual gamers, however they won't be fooled twice once they realize there is nothing really of worth in MS flight, and MS can say goodbye to those who truly love flight and the nuances that go along with it, and who see those nuances not as inconveniences which should be eradicated, but as the essence of what flight, and fight simming is about. I just wish MS realized this too, as they unfortunately a the main representative of all that is flight simming. But not for long. I expect there will be a mass exodus from Microsoft with simmers looking for a new home, and ED will provide them with that shelter which we all crave.

Hey there,

Also looking forward to the new fighter. I would love to see X-Plane 10 take over as the new benchmark for civil sims. PMDG + X-Plane 10 would be amazing.

Yeah aand?

It a new MSFS with no mod tools and such.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

It appears to be so, pandering to the lowest elements of the market...a fool and his money...

We will have to hope that XPX gets it Sierra together and developers like PMDG smarten up and move to them. PMDG lives in some kinda fantasy world thinking FSuX is a valid platform and will remain so.

I can't say i would be surprised. More power to X-Plane, then. It seems they are hard at work at delivering a quality set of stock planes with the next release.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

it might be harmless but in an age where EA:Origins Eula exists i can only be super sceptical.

Origin is no worse than Steam or any number of other programs.

but steam is sexy. origin looks, feels and screams I blow. Just my opinion though which is pretty much worthless =]

Too many conditions. They basically want everything but your first born. Not worth the hassle for what will probably be FSX with some different graphics.

It's not the fall that gets you. It's the Godawful sudden stop at the end.

The screenshots are awesome. I like that mission concept in FSX. Needed a Live account for GTA4 and used it now for registering for the beta. Hopefully to will be selected, if not, no problem it doesn`t cost me a anything...

If you had read the EULA you would not be saying such things. And given the content of the Origins EULA which was amended after the controversy It is still not acceptable for me. I do use steam for my gaming. There is quite a big diference in how "I" as a paying customer are treated. im not a marketing tool for anyone or anything other than for my own affairs.. sorry to go OT again. but it is important (to me)

No airliner, no ATC...

It seems like that only the Hawaii islands are included...no need for ATC and airliners then....:cold::pain:
