ED is making other maps besides Nevada?

EDGE allow naval environment improved? or wait later?

EDGE allows Damageable terrain or buildings or destrucibles.

The rivers will be navigable or wadeable?

Modifications to the field may be set as trenches, and military engineering jobs?

There are tunnels?

Will it be possible to model a sea/lake/river that is lower than sea level?

I'm asking this because, we, as an Israeli community really wants middle east map, and in every past simulator there was that problem, which, the Dead sea can't really be modeled correctly due to it's altitude, which is -427 meters, the lowest place on earth.

Same question. Is there a difference between gamma and brightness? Can the same effect be achieved by changing brightness of the monitor or is it different in some way. If it is same, I do understand that it would be nicer on a per application basis than on a global level.

This.

 

Since increasing my monitors overall brightness so I can avoid the terrain in DCS when it's around sunrise/sunset, I've had to lower the brightness in 2 other games!

 

Edit: and I still think brightness in windows is too much, but I'm trying to adjust to it.

No matter what thread I read, there is always 1 post about how excited someone is for "EDGE." Obviously, if I dont know what this is, but everyone is so excited about it, then I am probably missing out on something! So, uh... what is this EDGE thing?

Seriously, EDGE (Eagle Dynamics Graphics Engine) is something being developed for terrain display/rendering. It is supposed to vastly improve what can be done with terrain modeling in our current environment.

I seem to remember I, along with many others was supposed to be getting the Nevada map for free because we had bought the original A10c beta . Is that still the case?

Why did they choose Nevada? Anything to do with Nellis AFB? Also, how much do we know about the new map? Will there be... oh, I dont know... Area 51? x)

Will it take advantage of modern hardware and will it be optimized? The current engine is extremely unoptimized. The smoke affects look rather dated yet can kill frame rates with drops from 40-50 down to 5 when a UH-1 strafes a target with its gunpods.

 

Various other graphical features look rather dated, such as smoke. And aircraft lack smoke trails. My main concern is the current engine does not utilize modern hardware and still runs rather bad while looking dated in some aspects. If the new engine can fix it I would be thrilled.

That's pretty much what I am hoping for. Good view distance, good smoke trails for driving vehicles, as well as destroyed vehicles, smoke trails from weapons (guns, not missiles) maybe some exaust, etc.

 

Hell, lets just put it on CryEngine3... [/sarcastic]

 

Also... if there is an F16 on the horizon, I think I need to drive my car off a cliff just to make sure I am not dreaming... I would be
