Questionable business ethics and model, but i'm still going to buy the JTAC and nevada add-ons. I think the former will be especially amazing. Nevada will be nice, but the JTAC thing will change the game completely.

I really hope you guys have the SADL uplink and don't just give us what was already in the beta. You should be able to xmit data. From what I understand this was not possible in beta.

Firstly I'd like to say a huge well done to ED for giving such an awesome outline on what they hope to achieve with their future projects, it's awesome that a developer can provide such a great sense of community, and be so active within it.

Secondly, some of the people here need to chill! If ED have decided to take on two aircraft projects, then it's because they are confident that they can deliver two aircraft projects. Who are you to tell them how to run their business? Yes we are the end user and the paying customer, and ED are fantastic community hosts being that they openly ask for feedback and criticism, but its a shame to see that some of the guys here will still spit their dummies out and throw a tantrum because ED aren't working exclusively on what they want!

Step back and look, there are more customers out there than you, who are also willing to pay for what will be an undoubtedly amazing product. I for one am ecstatic to see that there are plans for more than one project to be under simultaneous development. To me this means that we will likely see better integration from the get go, more for us to read while we wait, and less time between releases! If they worked exclusively on DCS:Next Jet, then you'd likely be the same kids whinging that it was going to be another half a year/however long until DCS:Flying Legend, because they hadn't gotten anything done on it. You don't know what ED are capable of, so I think it's common courtesy to give them some space to breathe without having to get your blessing!

Look at BS2. If you knew they were developing that then you'd have been complaining that they weren't working on 1.1.1.0, but you didn't know, and hey! We got TWO great products.

Keep it up ED, you're doing incredible work, and I think it's safe to say you have positive support from 95% of the community here. Don't let the complaining 5% change your game plans, because you've got it pinned so far.

Wow, thanks for the information, some stunningly good ideas sound like they are on the way, and I still get Nevada for free :) can't wait for the virtual Jtac and as to the DCS fighter collection. I don't care what it is, I'm buying :)

Thankyou for listening to the complaints last week or so about lack of info, you've more than made up for it here :)

Great news. I'll buy each and every one of the modules... including FC3 (which, to be honest, I'm not terribly interested in) and the Nevade update (even though I can get it for free since I've been playing A-10C since Beta1).

You guys deserve all the support you can get! Thanks ED/TFC

Great Job ED, to release the Roadmap! Very nice step!

The Flying Legends part is not my thing, but I'll buy it, too to help such a great developer. Keep up the good work.

And I'm glad to hear the comeback of the "Battlecommander". And FC3 ... the time will tell.

kind regards,

Hey,

i think an interesting implication of this announcement is, which new technologies will come to DCS / FC...

Assuming that the Flying Legends will be a combat simulator as the brand name suggests, it could mean improved dogfight, or maybe even fixed wing AI as the dogfight is probably the heart and soul of an aircombat ww2 simulator.

Also, releasing a Battlecommander addon means about the same thing for the ground unit ai.. you cant just have tanks drive towards each other and do a head to head shootout... well you could but i doubt that this is what ED would strive for. Also the improved helicopter ai in 1.1.1.0 might just be a hint that they started improving the overall ai...

Thinking of graphics i think there are some updates inbout as well since especially the terrain looks rather flat up close. Of course there is EDGE, but there might be more to it. Indeed ED has already started doing this with the improved Lighting picture, the better clouds, mists and smoke effects, tree shadows, etc...

What i still miss, though is an advancement to export the exact results of a mission, which could lead to external dynamic campaign engines... well, lets wait and see.

Point five - The most important point for me in the road map is the last one. I hope to see more informations about next DCS US fixed wing fighter soon.

Point four - my first thing when i read about DCS Flying Legends was: WTF? Let's see what it will be... I hope it will not have a propeller :P

Other points - good to see particularly "Combined Arms"

Will we have the sadl interface for JTAC? That way we could run the system and replace the questionable AI JTACS with human ones.

ED is making some good money, we can look forward to a bright future :)

Even with just the latest BS2 release, they are running out of places to store their cash- I recently discovered that some intrepid developer had stuffed the equipment bays of the Ka-50 full of dollar bills.
