  1. 1. What do you think about P-51D and Flying Legends?

    • I'm so happy thanks ED ! :))
    • I like, but it could be another WW2 plane. :)
    • I dont like P-51D, I want another WW2 plane. :|
    • I want WW2 scenery, not just a WW2 plane!
    • I want Flying Legends series to have only JETs. There is no place WW2 planes at JET's playground! :/
    • I just want ED to make modern aircrafts/helicopters.. :(
    • I want carrier ops!
    • I want two seater cockpit!
    • If Flying Legends will have only ww2 planes, so it has to be independent from moderns..
    • Flying Legends must have helicopters.

Yes dont stop there, lol :))))

Se alot of IL2 pilots have it and talking about it on other forums most in a positive way. A late Bf109 or FW190 will draw more (I will buy for sure as I fly 109 and P51 in Il2). The invironment for now isnt that important for me - more important is an 109/190 and then it`s up to the missions designers/moders to bring the invironment in place.

Of cause there is more to build on with the P51 in place and Wags know it :)))))))

It`s a BIG turn in the right direction for the simmers, who have their main interest in WWII era. So! Dont stop here :)))))

I think you will find that a third party modder will be releasing AI Bf109 and FW190 at some stage in the future. The models that I have seen look very nice.

I'm really enjoying flying it...actually "flying it". Paying attention to my various instruments saving my engine for when the fight begins (where I'll push it). Love the energy management as well...taking off and landing after/before a mission brings a natural sense of jeopardy I don't get when landing the Hog or the KA. (not that landing the latter two is a write off.)

Thx Jim,

must admit i would like to change my vote on this considering my view is different since when the poll was generated. considerably different ! and not just due to the advent of trying the latest offering. more so because of the advent of DCS:World. new poll required please.

What do you think about DCS: P-51D and Flying Legends series?

I have created a poll to view results clearly. .

I like.

Create planes of both sides of the theater of war they were designed to fly with/against. I like F4U and CV ops.

Not to worry, there are other WWII sims if they go all jets, which is what your poll is suggesting.

I love this P-51.

An ongoing scoring system would be nice as to competition.

I am sure DCS would not stick their necks out without testing the market to see what the demand for WWII aircraft is. I am sure they have done their homework.

I am convinced, that the ED will make the joy of all of us simmers with both jets that fly with legends. I think that is a winning move in the meantime to release a party from opposition to the G10 or P51 type Bf 109 or FW 190 A7 c A6M5 Zero and a map of a European area or the Pacific. Then if as in my part of the appetite comes with eating, then we will see some beautiful. ;-)

I wish I could learn how to 3D model for something like this. Just working on ground objects would be fun for me (I've got a few months off after finals). I looked at 3D Max though and it turns out I'm short the $6000 needed to get that program. Any advice? Are there freeware version out there of an equivalent?

I think it's great.. Finally .. I have come to the conclusion that my niche is WWII birds.. I am not crazy about the jets.. the helos do nothing for me.. WWI is OK... but those '36-'46 birds really float my boat..

Of course if you started making stuff you want to sell then you would have to buy the software, but for learning this is probably your best bet.
