Pilotasso Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I've seen many past FC2 players hanging around in the DCS A-10C and BS2 servers lately, when FC3 comes along i bet we'll see a big resurgence in activity ;) Specially because everyone will be on the same universe again. .
Mustang Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Specially because everyone will be on the same universe again. Exactly :)
Vekkinho Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Yes definitely. I remember the fc / fc2 transiotion, within few weeks noone flew FC in MP...so I guess in order to enjoy MP you'll be kinda foreced to buy it. I see no other reasons not to buy FC2... I've got all ED products (LOMAC, FC1, FC2, BS, WH, BS2) although I don't get too many sticktimes with BS, BS2 and WH. But they're there just for the sake of it and I can fidle with it anytime I want! 104th_Crunch Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Specially because everyone will be on the same universe again. Also, the announcement by ED that they are transitioning to a core system is awesome news. No more splintering the MP community!! I wonder if that means that once FC3 is out, and is compatible with DCS, that FC3 will always be compatible with the future of DCS? That would be great until there are more (and of course the first!) DCS fighter jets.
martinistripes Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I like the Frogfoot, so provinding there are significant tweaks, bugfixes, improvements etc. I will buy. Valve Index | RTX 4080 (Mobile) | i9-14900HX @ 2.20 GHz | 32GB RAM

I always understood the initial DCS concept of the core modules not to include Lock On - nothing is known right now about how it will work - but don't expect Lock On to be continually updated with the rest of DCS. CarneyUK Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Yes! Bought LOMAC and FC2 about 2 months ago, ready for when FC3 comes out. Still fly A10C more at the moment, but waiting with anticipation for FC3 :D "The sky is not the limit.....it's my playground!!" @paraglidecass
JEFX Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Of course I will buy it. I think it is the best thing we can do to get better and better sims (like A-10C) in the future is to encourage this BEST company. I agree with some of you that if LOFC3 is not in a common world with the rest of DCS something is missing sorely, but still, we need to help ED develop the other great upcoming products... And, hey, consider how much fun and wonder we all had with LOMAC at first and then all the other titles, it will still be fun while we wait for the mythological future detailed US fixed-wing jet:smilewink: JEFX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... rattler Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) Nope, nor any other till ED makes up it's mind which way to go. Early or Modern. From everthing we hear they do not have many resources so it will take a long time to see results of these Projects and for myself only by the way, waiting is a waste of my time. Don't have much left to wait years to see something. If this should change then I may be back again.:dunno: I gave this some thought and if ED/TFC produced say a Combat sim. similar to FSX and allowed 3rd party Companies to add all the high detail things such as better scenery, aircraft, etc. and the Base ED/TFC sold for around $50-$70 dollars, then I would buy into the new concept. ED/TFC makes money on the Base product and we can pick and choose to what higher level we wish to take it. Basically the same as FSX. I personally think that this could be a win for all flight simmers as you can have exactly what you want and pay for this over a period of time, not putting too much strain on the old budget. I am now into FSX and I just buy what pertains to me an where I want to fly, I don't have to get 3rd party addons for places I don't go and I don't get aircraft I don't fly. I also get Wx, and graphics for my area of flying and this seems to work well. Yes by the time I am through I will spend near $190 to get what I want but I get what I want in great detail at a pace that meets my budget. Just my thoughts. Edited April 14, 2012 by rattler

I'd happily be wrong though. Nate But it is considered right? At least the newsletter from last december said: We consider to include several improvements to aircraft flight models and systems, a resource management system, and several other new features. This will also make Flaming Cliffs online compatible with A-10C and Black Shark 2. LuiAD Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Will i Need fc3 to play Online with my A10C on fc3 server??
Eddie Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Will i Need fc3 to play Online with my A10C on fc3 server?? No.
HiJack Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Will i Need fc3 to play Online with my A10C on fc3 server?? The mission needs to hold A-10C flights defined as "client" of course. You can not play with any other aircraft in FC3 when joining with A-10C. Only A-10C. (HJ)
SESova Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 No,not right now.First i am going to check a lots of things.I wont thrust enymore to ED like before i bougth FC 2.0. If is just cosmetic changes of FC 2.0,my answer is NO.Thay have to do a LOT on the planes flight model,missiles.... Смрт фашизму,слобода народу!

If FC3 turns out to be just another FC2 (FC2 + graphics and ME updates since FC2), I will be very disappointed and will reconsider buying it. 1 i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. rattler Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I would be surprised if we see FC3 let alone worrying if it will be kept for the DCS modules to come. I am sorry to say that I have no Trust in anything ED/TFC have to say at the moment. They are not very open to keeping customers abreast of their Path in regards to New Products. I know things can change but if they do then follow up with a News Update. How hard is this? 1
Nate--IRL-- Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 How hard is this? Because people will scream blue murder saying ED have broken promises. Promises that were never given, are never given. EtherealN Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 An interesting observation about "keeping customers abreast of their Path in regards to New Products": http://www.bluesnews.com/s/131763/valve-on-strike-half-life-3-strike-ricochet-2 "The problem is, we think that the twists and turns that we're going through would probably drive people more crazy than just being silent about it, until we can be very crisp about what's happening next” - Gabe Newell (of Valve/Half-Life fame, in case you don't know him) Fact is that compared to the games industry in general, ED gives quite a bit of information, and early. Sov13t Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Fact is that compared to the games industry in general, ED gives quite a bit of information, and early. Don't bite the hand that feeds. ;) Good quote, and good point. The only issue here, in my opinion, is that ED's following is a lot less ADD than millions of teenage boys running around "pwning noobs" in FPSes that are released on average at 1 new (decent) title every 3-4 months. So with a generally, and there are exceptions, more educated and mature crowd there isn't much going on outside the realm of Eagle Dynamics as opposed to Valve vs Bioware vs EA vs {Insert Name}. As far as I know, the only thing you can do other than count days till the next ED announcement/update is to go give BMS a try, just not much choice. I personally prefer minesweeper... I heard a rumor that Microsoft is planning an MMO based off of Minesweeper. Edited April 24, 2012 by Sov13t [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 51st PVO Regiment | Forum | Statistics DCS: MiG-21Bis
Pilotasso Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Good point, there is however a concern keeping audience interested by giving something up to them early, so its a question for a favourable ratio=audience/hand bites but the last will always exist or else there will be an indetermination to the infinite :D .
Kuky Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I think that these forus are getting bit stale... there's nothing new talked about... no news.... only that 1 screenshot (maybe few more) of P-51D cockpit... it's not enough considering last patch for A-10C was some 8 months ago, and that was the last thing that was released... well with exception of P-51D being announced as next DCS module... alright, I forgot about announcement of ED's decision to start or have started work on propper DCS modular code. FC3 really has to be more than just FC2 brought into latest DCS world, even if there are just few more additions and fixes to graphics etc... the FM have to be brought to Su-25T level and avionics and missiles need to be fixed... avionics don't have to be as detailed as DCS but they do need to be improved substantially... missiles the most. If FM gets to AFM and missiles and avionics are improved... this together with graphics engine brought to current DCS world will be more than worth paying for full game cost... to me at least Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi MB | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC AIO 360 | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD x2 | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | HOTAS Cougar+MFG Crosswind ... and waiting on Pimax Crystal Super VR headset & DCS MiG-29A release
