So is the DCS World/SU-25T going to be a free download or will one have to purchase a DCS product to get it?

Brilliant if it is free ED will have a huge influx of new customers once they get a taste of it...kind of like the free version of ROF with only 2 planes.

Free download. You have always been able to download all DCS products without paying for them, you just couldn't run the software without a key up to now.

DCS World is the shared core of DCS. Basically everything but the flyable aircraft. It includes, as a free (for single player only) aircraft the SU-25T (from lock-on). This allow people to download and try the DCS environment, use the mission editor etc without having to purchase a module.

Any aircraft modules that you buy are then installed to the DCS World core, meaning that things like the terrain, AI, skins etc are only installed once rather than the way things were in the past with BS and A-10C being totally separate full installs not sharing anything.

Does the 25T become multiplayer compatible with the purchase of any DCS product or must we wait for FC3?

It's online playable after purchasing and activating another module.

So the next (or any upcoming) patch for DCS: BS2 and DCS: A10C will put both in the 'DCS World' and both titles will become compatible with DCSM and the Su25T from the Flaming Cliffs series.

I think I got it... right?

Being a current owner of A-10c and BS2, will i be mulitplayer capable with the su-25t now(WITHOUT owning p-51 atm), or not until a-10c/bs2 get their patch to bring them into dcs world.

This will be awesome. It's going to free up a ton of space on my SSD and there will be no need to leave a multiplayer server or exit a game to fly an aircraft you already own. Been wishing for this for a long time.

I have a couple of questions though: Will the existing DCS multiplayer missions have to be retooled to accommodate this or should they just plug in and work? Also regarding activations: will it be allowed to have say A-10C installed for backwards compatibility or for people who haven't upgraded yet or will it burn a second activation when we activate the A-10C in DCS World?

They'll probably need a tweak or two - no more than any other leap in versions.

On another Note..This really does have a Rise of Flight like option...Buy the world etc etc...Then later purchase Aircraft or Choppers that you want...just saying.
