empeck Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Oh no  Not another similar thread. Someone should start a DCS: Mi-24 thread (some cockpit screens have been released if I recall correctly) and people will freak out. 3 x  I know I would. I've played a mission yesterday, and I saw AI Mi-24 attacking ground targets, I felt like I was flying wrong helicopter :music_whistling:
Steel Jaw Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Actually with no FBW, the Hog is gonna be alot of s&r work so I guess I will have to suck it up. astrospud Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 A.I. Mannie a.k.a Chuck Norris in #2 Seat. Now, Chuck Norris would be great as a front seat guy! :) I would like to see either the Mi-35 Hind or Mi-28 in the dual-seater role, or a Mi-8 for troop insertion/extraction (just something to enjoy taking off and landing in without having to worry about fighting in. :) FSX Acceleration? The EH 101 is top helo doing just that, sans inserting/extracting AI troops. There is a mission where you have to rescue skiers on a mountain side. Actually there are a couple SAR missions in FSX Acceleration. Might be worth a look. ;) ...snip... Modeling a 2-man team is a tiny thing compared to that, I think. At least that one's just a technical challenge that requires the development team and designers to really really think for a while, as opposed to having the designers beg the world's premier military powers to declassify equipment that they consider front-line kit. :P If the AI in a new DCS module is anything like the AI in the current BS Apache, then we're in trouble. I flew my first air to air mission 2 days ago and thought I would crash and burn. 3 hellfire misses and several bursts of the bushmaster and I came out unscathed!! The pilot even moved infront of me where I pwned him with gunfire. I actually felt a bit disappointed... Rectum non bustus

Skoop Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 DCS Apache is the only next logical choice for the multiplayer world. I'm tired of flying Blue Ka-50s in the place of Apaches. How about releasing an AH-64A lockon FC2 version. After DCS Apache, they should do DCS F-18 so we can have a multi role to do SEAD and launch HARMS. This would balance out the AC in multiplayer and allow true red vs blue engagements. For once I'd like to see ED just go ahead and do the project with out military contracts or classified material concerns. By the time we finally get all the DCS AC that we need to Balance out the ED sim world the engine will be obsolete because everone using some new version of windows. Its gonna take a decade at this rate. intel i5 3570k @ 4.5 Ghz + Corsair H100 in push-pull / Asus Maximus V Formula mobo / 16Gb Gskill Ripjaw Z ddr3 1600 / evga 690 GTX 4gb / 1 TB WD caviar Black 7200 rpm sata HDD + 80GB Corsair F80 SSD + 2x Corsair 60Gb Force3 SSD / TM Warthog HOTAS-G940 Peddals / Corsair 1200 AX gold PSU / Windows 7 64 bit OS / 27" Qnix 2710 @ 2560 x 1440 120hz PLS Monitor & 23" acer touch screen with Helios/
Eis Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 DCS Apache is the only next logical choice for the multiplayer world. I'm tired of flying Blue Ka-50s in the place of Apaches. I agree with this. A-10 isn't really a Ka50 "enemy"... How about releasing an AH-64A lockon FC2 version. No man... We want Apache as real as it gets... BTW the two-sit Apache is goint to be challenging and have fun...
GGTharos Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I would imagine this is unlikely to happen in the next 5 years. Yeah, don't worry about whether it will be financially sensible to do it, or if they have access to a sufficient amount of declassified data to do it right... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Skoop Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 (edited) My point exactly, 5 years in the computer world is an eternity. You guys are killing me, ED is gonna have to speed up production. Why wait for military contracts when you can satisfy the desktop simmers and generate revenue now. If you keep taking so long to realease new DCS models, then you will have to waiste time constantly keeping the overall engine up to date with the current technology. I don't mean to sound negative, I just see alot of potential in the ED sim family, and I want to see it reach it's full potential in my lifetime. I'm having these same problems with some of my other favorite sims, Steel Beasts pro pe, and Combat Mission.......
