:glare: Oooh yes! How did I miss these updates?

"A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft."

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

only one little problem with that picture. The main 109 that would oppose the P51D would the bf 109 G6(Gustav) and beyond. What I'm seeing here looks like an Emil.

Yes - you are correct that in 1944/45 the majority version was the G. However, there were still E flying due to production constraints on manufacturing the G due to allied bombing.

Interestingly, if you read the autobigraphies/biographies of German pilots, their favourite aircraft was the E. Less power, but more manoeuverable than the G.

The FW190 was inferior above 20,000 ft, where most combat took place attacking B17s.

But I would not worry too much, I am sure modders will be creating a G!

There is so many great variants with these planes, would love to see a number of different ones. Data for them is tricky of course as it seems testing was less a priority (or harder to do while getting bombed) during the war.

They tested them, it was just done mostly by asking the pilots questions after a mission. ;)

The best test... they passed if they came back :)

Before the war and at the start there seems to have been lots of wind tunnel activity on the Me 109.

There is a very rare document if you can find it - "Pilot's Notes for Messerschmitt BF109".

Try here: http://www.barbarossabooks.eu/pilots-notes-for-messerschmitt-bf109-p-8530.html

It includes Allied analysis of captured E and G models.

Man, I would be all over a more complete WWII scenario in DCS, that would be so awesome. In fact, I think I will go ahead and pre-purchase the P-51 just to show my interest and support for it.

So I am at a crossroads right now, I have been working on a Bf-109e, but it seems there are a couple floating around, as I really dont know what is being worked on I am not sure if I should just stick it out with the 109 or move to another variant, a 190, a Spit Mk V (or other variant) or something completely different and step out with a A6M. I have good drawings of all of the above.

I am leaning towards the Fw-190D, it has a couple different varieties of ordnance you could drop off its wings, really I wanna do them all, but I have to quit my job first lol.

Anyways, thoughts? Anyone have any insight into other creations in the works, maybe stuff I should avoid?

I wonder, do you want to produce high quality aircraft including cockpits etc on the level of DCS, as a third party developer? Or how do you plan do go about it? If it's the former, I guess you'd best contact ED for approval and I'm sure they would try to coordinate what their third party devs are working on.

About quitting your job in order to create airplanes, maybe a good idea, provided you have the skills to do it well. Hey, some people (me included) might even want to fund such projects.

:)
