Looks as if you take control of a vehicle then the AI takes over your plane. I did this a couple of times for a few KA-50's and they ended up pretty much autonomously going out and taking out some tanks.

 

Also appears that the AI will react to your threats and counter attack. I pushed a few tanks forward and artied their position, spotted some tanks coming in to reinforce the position.

 

This is freakin' awesome.

I can't wait to plink human control vehicle. I bet they think they're invisible from the Hawg. :D Question is how do we know which vehicle is manned by human?

Have the labels on in the server settings. By default, it includes the %P tag (player name) for vehicles as well.

Actually, what we know as CA has taken some years to get here. Carl Norman who was the producer for the original Flanker, Flanker 2 and 2.5 said they, ED, are working towards a digital battlefield, and he said that some 10 years ago.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Actually the concept was first proposed in 1985 by Gilman Louie and myself when Mirrorsoft acquired Spectrum Holobyte and we prepared a business plan including the concept for the acquisition, and then launched Falcon, Mig29 and M1 Tank (I still have the original business plan somewhere!). I was then in development charge of Flanker in 1993 for Mindscape/SSI (not Carl), and discussed the concept with ED. We reckoned it would take 20 years to achieve fully. We are still not there. As usual, I am always too optimistic about the rate of technology change!

I'm betting that if you're watching closely with the tgp, you'll be able to tell the difference in behavior of an AI unit and human controlled unit. Just the few vids posted here show a marked difference in movement compared to AI.

Can't you just drive into a hangar or something and be completely safe? I find it hard to spot the AI as an A-10 pilot lol:D

Suspension physics is in there to an extent. Its most noticeable stopping and acceleration form a stop. I think there is also a little movement when you fire the main cannon.

First time a shot the BFG of a Tank I thought a huge recoil pointed my gun to the sky ...but I was only blinded by smoke :D

Hope some day that gets reworked. Views from aircraft could live without it if that needs too much performance though in the TGP it would be a nice.

as is, it doesn't seem realistic

 

I don't know if you've noticed, but the ground is very smooooth...

How much movement of the suspension are you expecting while not stopping, starting or going over a ridge or bridge ?

 

Or are you suggesting some artificial 'jiggle' to make the ride more convincing ?

in BS1, when you tried to land or rolling on the ground (wild) you was always finishing upside down, everything broken.

Comprehensible when you hit 150kph on the grass, but totally unrealistic when you was doing a simple land in Hover mode. (Tell me how many time you crashed in the Courrier single mission trying to land near that jeep)

 

Now i can land with the Ka-50, so i really don't care if those tanks aren't bouncing when hitting 120kph on the ground. It's for a greater cause.

Liked the vid, Welten. Less dramatic music and editing the better. Lets the game/sim advertise itself better if you ask me.

The true sounds do a lot to giving that sense of realism that you don't get with that awful drummy choir hollywood music over the top that so many vids seem to want to use to add a cinematic quality. Less, in these cases and in my opinion, is more!

Well, truth is, if you want to reach a bigger audience and to attract more potential customers, you cant just have a video with no music and regular gameplay, as this would not be called a Trailer, this would be a "gameplay video". And yes, gameplay videos are a must, but this is not used to promote a product for the masses.

 

If you know the difference between the 2, then I can support your opinion. ;)

 

But again, not to derail the topic, this is just MY opinion on the matter. To each his own I guess!

Bring on the gameplay vids! :D
