Still a huge problem, occuring extremely often when I want to play, extremely off putting, and simply gamebreaking.

 

I agree. I had been working yesterday, now not at all. Been trying to log in for an hour, CTD connecting to master.

 

Rather large and deadly bug.

I haven't gotten this error since updating my C++ redistributables and following the fix outlined in this post. The redistributables are available here: x86, x64, x86 SP1, x64 SP1. I'm not sure which ones are truly necessary, but it won't hurt to install all of them.

 

 

x86 references the 32bit ver. of the update, x64 is referring to the 64Bit ver of the update. no need to install all of them. apply spairingly.

At the moment me and my four mates are sitting in front of our virtual pits, but anyone gets a CDT while connecting to master. For about ~2 months the same Problem.

 

Shame on........(don't wont to say who)

no crash log, but they have plenty from me anyway, and they know about this issue.

Apparently we need to wait patiently for this multiplayer breaker to be fixed.

 

Keep trying we will connect eventually anywhere from 30mins - 2 hours for me so far, its random.

 

got in after 10 minutes

Its just stupid... they are so worried about the dedicated server but who knows how many will be playing by the time they get that out... some soft of hotfix would be nice but im not getting my hopes up... considering all we get is .... we know about it but we are not saying anything else....

C'mon guys, this is getting stupid. Master server always was retarded. Once again the legitimate customer gets the short end of the stick. Thanks ED, great job. A pity really, I was going to recommend DCS to a few more people, but now, I don't think I'll bother.

Do we still need to submit crash logs for this? Its a known issue but that is all thats known. Too bad we cant just disable the master server, and allow everything through until this problem gets fixed....

 

Why is there no urgency in fixing a problem that seems to effect so many?

Maybe someone could shed some light on how the dedicated server is going to fix this problem.

Sure there is. If we rant and moan enough maybe ED will fix a pretty major bug, instead of waiting to roll it into an enormous epic patch months from now.

 

Seems to work for everything other product in the world that has flaws.

Go ahead, keeping rule 1.10 in mind:

 

Additionally, up to Bring a Particular issue Repeatedly After IT Has Already Been Acknowledged Will be Considered "trolling" - in such cases a Warning Will be Issued to the Author and the Post Will be removed.

 

At least now all are adequately forewarned :)

As long as it's someone's first acknowledgement of the issue, however tactless their approach might be, I'd say it's not really "trolling." To me that requires repetition.

 

 

To help promote a balanced discussion... let me say I think there's nothing wrong with the master server concept. In the end if it works well it's very unobtrusive and it keeps the validation process simple. When it works, you don't notice it. (When it doesn't, it's a bit ridiculous. :D)

 

I hope current problems with the master server are a result of server-side updates meant to accompany a future software version.

Master Arms is having alot of problem this evening with crashes when connecting to master server.

Please fix it. It ruins our squadnight.
