OMG!!! U made me remember my first ingame VOIP encounter in BF2 with a 12 year old...

...that voice, the moment it was heard in the squad's channel... then silence... and then ROFLMAO by all clan members... ah... memories... :D

EDIT (TO STAY ON TOPIC):

That sure would be cool while flying an AV-8B!

Good on you young fella. Good to see young blood!

"A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft."

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

Thanks.

Back on track though: Is there any plan to model a Wasp-Class Amphibius Assualt ship along with all the other things that it carries so we can have a seaborne invasion in like a possible hypothetical cold war situation going hot?

Edit: or a Tarawa class for the cold war timeframe?

Ahhh the memories! I had a nice tour of the Wasp about 15 years ago when I worked with General Dynamics during the EFV (AAAV) program. Unfortunately this got scraped, but it would have been nice to see deployed. I hope to see the naval realm come to a very active life in DCSW down the road.

haha Shagrat I remember that one now you mention it.

Well I'm 40 in April and don't consider myself "old" lol

Well 42 for me and it's nothing to do with numbers, it's when you move like you need a wheelchair soon every morning that implies "old", though the term "well experienced middleaged male" sounds promising

...yes, aaron886 - I know: old fart! :D

Happy Birthday! Young Padawan. You may be one of the lucky ones to see DCS covering the whole world, with naval warfare, plenty of modern fighters and helicopters ... ah, I envy you!

Though, you may never share the heartstopping experience of my first flight in DID's EF-2000 Eurofighter sim. The first 3D cockpit, and it felt awesome back then... ah, the good old times

Well, I started simming when I was either 3 or 4 (My father says there is a video he has that has me trying to show my grandfather, who flew in Vietnam, on how to land a plane. I also am beginning some RL pilot's lessons and someday I'll be able to fly in the skies for real again while being the pilot. :harhar:

Yes, yes, we are all so impressed... can we get back on-topic? ;)

Yes we can now. Another question: which "block" of AV-8B Plus is planned on being modeled since there are slight differences in weapon systems that I'm interested in?

just chit chat here, but nothing new on the development process of a DCS Harrier.

this is very disappointing as the Harrier would be one of the most remarkable airframes in this epic sim + long awaited by so many...

Have some patience. RAZBAM has said that they will not post updates unless there are serious updates. That's a 3rd party developer treating you with respect.

Agree with the above. The hype of 3rd party devs got us some crazy fever of wanting those right now. That is impossible. Now we are on the chill phase of it. ;)

Guys:

We are working on DCS stuff as well, thing is, everything we do is about coding, file structuring, trial and error, and it´s stuff, well, intangible. I decided to stop posting pics if meshes and models in-game, since it could lead to frustration on your part, since in that regard, nothing to little has changed, once we have new stuff (that means working HUD´s, MFD´s etc) we´ll start the process of letting you know via pics and/or videos.

We don´t post FSX stuff here, since this is a DCS forum.

Best regards

Prowler

Current Status?

Without having to read through 26 pages I was wondering what the current status of this project is? I've seen the FSX versions and they are very VERY impressive.. just wondering if this has been shelved for now or is under construction?

Still working. In this world, I wouldn't take a news hiatus of a couple months as a sign of things going wrong. Now if they don't do anything for YEARS (I'm not naming any names here. FighterOps. Okay, sorry, couldn't resist), then that may be a sign that development has halted.

The main reason for this is that a great majority of the work isn't visual related. So most of what they are doing right now is probably code related (yeah, I know there are some who will say they want code shots), and they are probably not willing to show that. So really, until they start ACTUALLY FINISHING stuff, there really isn't much to show.

Give it time, the company hasn't given up on DCS, and they just (r.e. a few days ago) released new shots of the T-2 development (An aircraft, which, mind you, they have stated will be their first release.), I wouldn't count them out quite yet.

Keep up the good work.

It would be nice if it came with a Wasp class carrier to fly from.
