SkateZilla Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 with all the hooplah about the WHOIS for the F-18C domain belonging to E.D./TFC, and this new model. people are forgetting the punchline from an interview i read where it was mentioned the next DCS Plane was being worked on along side the P-51D and could be cancelled at any time. It’s marginally possible that F-18C coulda been what they were working on and decided to cancel it and drop whatever assets they have into DCSW for the AI to use. But I doubt it, and its 100% Speculation. joey45 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 and could be cancelled at any time. If the Hornet was cancelled then they would concentrate on the other US fixed wing flying contraption.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. EtherealN Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Really shouldn't use new models for AI aircraft as any kind of indicator. Remember, the MiG-31 got a new model too! (Though to be fair, I'd love DCS MiG-31. :D Especially with a Sibiria map. ) AI objects get updated all the time, and which ones get updated when depends on workflow; it is obviously not practical to update all of them at the same time, there's just not enough modelers etcetera around for that. BigfootMSR Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 You will need to do a complete install of 1.2.1 1. Install world 1.2.1 2. Install DCS black shark (BS1 the original) and be sure its activated. 3. Install any other modules you need to. The order of the modules does not matter. Bucic Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I've just checked the "afterburner blinking" on another updated model, namely F-15C and indeed it does not share the issue. When I saw afterburner flickering in huge and small increments on the new '18, I thought the small flickering is a feature, not a bug. Hence my previous posts. F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close

Unfortunately, today we don't know the release date. Is somebody of the development team can communicate about a realistic date of these deliveries?

marcos Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 If I uninstall 1.2.0 will all the training files disappear because it took ages to set them up? Is there no easier way to udpate than this repeated process of uninstalling everything and re-installing? It's lengthy and worrying.

marcos Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) Install 1.2.1. and use the autoupdater. So does 1.2.1 come with a full working set of training files, or do they have to be installed separately? Is it the Ka-50 1.2.1 or Ka-50 Upgrade 1.2.1 module that you need? Does 1.2.1 have the object patch for distance? Edited October 16, 2012 by marcos
BaD CrC Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Did anyone noticed the fantastic small improvements over previous DCS versions that were not at all listed by ED? I am thinking of those gorgeous new parking textures with some kind of bump mapping effects, the skid marks on the ground, the sound of the rain drops on the cockpit when it is closed? Anything else you guys saw? 1 https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
