Well with the limitations of infantry some would have to be left to timers and triggers I suppose, and then needing the answer to the question multiple players in the chopper, manning machine guns and such... I think there is possibilities for some interesting missions... Well, speaking as a guy who has deployed twice with a Hawk unit there is more to a Hawk than dropping troops off. Often, we did things like MEDEVAC chase (pretty much filling in as an escort), CASEVAC, covering convoys, landing near convoy to pick guys up, landing near a suspicious vehicle etc, route security (looking for IED emplacers and the like) etc. But to be honest, I would much rather see a Hind. At least it fits better in the region of the world DCS is currently in. As it stands now, the P-51 and any Huey but the version used by the Turks is pretty much out of place in this at the moment. When the Huey comes out we can use the 51 in Sandy missions..... Now we are shoehorning the P-51 in order to justify its exsistence in this game. Don't necessarily mind the P-51, but if you are going to base your entire game series on a modern day conflict in Georgia than modules like the P-51 are pretty dumb, and a waste of resources that could have gone into making a craft that people have shown interest in in the begining and that fits in the setting. No one can control what third parties do (UH-1 and MiG-21 in that part of the world in the modern day setting don't exactly score high on the "good idea" scale) but let's not get blinded by the shiny object dangling infront of us. I love the Stang and so it was a no brainer for me to buy it. So that is the beauty of choice. You can buy it or you can choose not to. Yes its odd in the grand scheme of things but not unwanted. DCS isn't flaming cliff. It isn't all about Geogia/Ukraine anymore. Nevada should be out soon...or later and nothing says we won't see 3rd parties map in the future, probably after the Nevada/EDGE release. Flying the mustang made me realise that DCS is a constantly evolving platform where everthing is possible. The P51 proves that DCS isn't just about modern aircraft. I'm pretty sure we'll other warbirds and WWII ground units at some point, we just need to be patient.
