AggressorBLUE Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Wow this thread exploded all of a sudden. I have been spoiled by my fly by wire shark with autopilot, HUD, no tail rotor, wheels for easy taxiing, moving map, and the Shkval for my in flight movies with bad airline food. Personally I'm looking forward to a simpler aircraft than the systems laiden DCS modules. A refreshing change of pace.
Graves0922 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 A thread should be started similar to the one started for the P-51. "First takeoff and landings"

Cowboy10uk Growing Up, I was training to be a Pilot (Saw Top Gun when I was 4, and was hooked.) Then I was hit with Medical restrictions my Soph Year of HS. So at 19 that plan was thrown away finally, after fighting for waivers etc for 3 or 4 years. I've Sat in the Back Seat of an F-18D for a Simulated Launch and recoveries at Fentress, I had more Simulator time than most of the Active Duty Pilots at the time. (Part of being in NJROTC in Highschool w/ Access to Pilot Clubs/Programs and stuff, son of a Navy AE, etc etc, I had access to alot of stuff, even though I wasnt medically eligible to join the Navy.) I've Taken a Ride in an F-16. Sat in an A-10C Pit, not at an Airshow, I've Sat in A F-18F, Not at An Airshow, Sat in a Tomcat pit repeatedly when i was younger (in the late 80s/early 90s.) I've flown random models of Cessna's, and I've flown a Huey (granted the Instructor/Pilot spooled up the huey and took off first and then I was given controls.) TBH the best ride out of all the planes I've been in was the F-16, that Aircraft just hauls, it's not even funny. I Have comparable Simulator Time in the F-18E recently than some of the A.D. Pilots as well. Even if I was able to get waivers, Alot of the pilots agreed that I would have been discharged early anyway in 2006. Never got a Chance to Fly in a Tomcat :( Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Zomba Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Ha, Skatezilla, sounds like an awesome experience. When I was younger I wanted to be a rescue pilot in the military. I wasn't keen on the idea of killing, but saving people had a lot of appeal to me, but medical wouldn't let me go further. I took the odd route of taking a career under the sea instead of in the air. Some of the companies I worked for used various Huey derivatives (Don't ask me which, they just all had that distinctive shape). One of the pilots was an older guy that had flown Hueys in the Vietnam War and mentioned to me once, as we were landing in a clearing in the middle of nowhere to get fuel, that this reminded him of inserting troops into clearings in jungle clearings... minus the people shooting. I've always wanted to know what it was like to fly one. I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.

All the events - in of his time!)) Yes, an ED Team member wrote again on the russian forum that the Huey will not be ready for ver 1.2.3. We even do not have ver 1.2.3 yet (and do not know when this is ready) so.... Thanks for keeping us in the loop though, much appreciated. @Skatezille: And what about a private pilot licence? Darkwolf Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 well with the usual level of speculation we have here, i wonder how come no one has posted the theory of 1.2.3 delayed for UH1 integration. Rammit Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 1.2.3 delayed for UH1 integration It's another theory, it seems quite likely now you think about it, I just hope it doesn't take too long  "If the MWS didn't see it, it didn't happen"

Darkwolf Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Honestly that's a theory I briefly had but don't really believe in. Speculation is ED's forum national sports, along with Missile specs debate. That what make it a fun place :D (except when those debate end in flames, but that's not so often) In the speculation that i believe in : Whether they had legal issue or not, I'm sure they kept working in the background to not take too much delay, not just waiting after an agreement. UH-1 is already in sim, i wouldn't be surprise about an eventual 1.2.4 w/ huey Anyway, my credit card is already next to my computer and the Wagner CD in the CD player. give us that Huey !! Switching radio channels, squawk, altitude, heading,is very demanding with the lack of autopilot on the 206. Watch out for the trees.

Redman, I love the dodosim Jetranger certainly the best heli on the market for FSX, just a pity the dodosim Huey never turned up. Was looking forward to that one, and I agree Voxatc while not perfect, makes a huge difference. Easier on the radio panels when you use he saitek radio panel though. Not that it stops me crashing. ;) Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
