kevdawg66 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 That really shows us the power of our air forces! 1
leafer Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) It also shows the Apache .30 cal aiming system isn't deadly accurate. I guess that .30 cal full auto recoil, but I think they could come up with some better aiming system. Edited December 21, 2012 by sobek ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Griffin Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) It's 30 mm, not .30 cal. .30 cal is 0,3 inches which in millimeters is 7,62 which is the same as AK-47 round. The Apache cannon is not supposed to be headshot accurate, it's an area support weapon and uses the fragments to kill. Edited December 21, 2012 by Griffin
JozMk.II Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Uh, this is disturbing. Very, very disturbing. Those are actual people, like the ones I see walking outside right now, being targeted and taken out. If I ever fly for the US military, it'll be in transports, thank you very much.
sobek Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Videos removed. Sorry guys, due to this forum being rated for everyone, we cannot endorse videos that are that explicitly violent and gruesome. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

Bushmanni Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 It's a pity we can't get AH-64E in DCS for a long time. GFAS would be very nice thing to have. DCS Finland: Suomalainen DCS yhteisö -- Finnish DCS community -------------------------------------------------- SF Squadron
Bee_Sting Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I see that they plan on giving it a 5% more power in the engine and the power to control UAV's
Flagrum Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Army confirms plans to replace Kiowas with Apaches: http://www.verticalmag.com/news/article/26336#.UtbCCWRDsnU
Davis0079 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 No stingers on the wingtips???....where'd my copy of Gunship2000 go????....let me show them what its suppose to look like.... It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.
HiJack Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I see that they plan on giving it a 5% more power in the engine and the power to control UAV's It's not a "plan", it's implemented and operating.
AlphaOneSix Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 -701Ds have been around for a while now. Same engine as UH-60M.

AlphaOneSix Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Production American Apaches (all models) cannot mount air-to-air missiles.
outlawal2 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Production American Apaches (all models) cannot mount air-to-air missiles. Really? I thought that they had an option for Stinger missiles... (And if the Apache crashed the Stinger could be utilized as a shoulder fired SAM...) Was that Hollywood Crap? "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
GGTharos Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 American apache's do not mount them and IIRC they are not wired for them. Japanese Apaches are though. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
NRG-Vampire Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) American apache's do not mount them and IIRC they are not wired for them. ^ i guess it needs a few hours only to update - to fix this fault :D especially if it's already prepared for a2a missiles secretly while in taiwan (check wingtip) http://www.airliners.net/photo/Taiwan---Army/Boeing-AH-64E-Apache/2365324/L/&sid=7ebbc3913188f2654dd90a0b8d28a6fd Edited January 16, 2014 by NRG-Vampire
AlphaOneSix Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 One man's fault is another man's budget savings. American Apaches are not wired and are not built with the necessary components required to employ air-to-air missiles. Or put another way, Apaches already have an awesome air-to-air capability, it's called an F-15, F-22, etc.
ENO Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I'd rather GFAS anyway... given the current operational environments- Must admit in watching the video I am really impressed with the developments! Apache is going strong! "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Devrim Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 They're constantly talking about AH-64 Apache in Russian side. :) Sometimes I wonder about what they're typing and glance there by using Goggle translate. AlphaOneSix Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Simple misunderstanding. Nobody is saying that there is an AH-64 project in the works by anyone, but that all parties are currently busy with their current (non AH-64) projects.
