Exorcet
No point in making a world map if there's nothing to see, will make flying to the target even more boring then it already is. There still is a point. I wouldn't mind some Turkish bases in the current map even if there was not scenery around them. You would probably end up flying over water a bit more and the more realistic mission duration and flight plans would be nice. And of course it makes sense with some of the AI aircraft which right now operate in a region a bit small for them. With the current map it would be nice to have: All bases in Ukraine from the old map Merzifon (Tur) Incirlik (Tur) Rostov-na-Don (Rus) Morozovsk (Rus) Even if players never used them, AI could be placed there. Ham Sandwich
If you took an area the size of what's modeled currently modeled in the DCS black sea theatre (not including the sea and the null patches on the west and northeast sides of the map) and applied it to other regions, this is what you come up with: (I'm partial to the idea of having an israel/lebanon/sinai/east egypt map. That would provide a widely varied terrain with deserts, mountains, urban, and greenspace - with significant ocean area for carrier/naval ops). Sierra99
I think the next theater of War should be developed based on real world concerns and factors that weigh on the mind of every Crewdog and member of the military alike... 1.) Subliminal-SS
A) the world, as FSX/P3d/Xplane did it. Over any theatre of high detail. I would pay for this however would they really be able to get away with a platform, it would be like charging for DCS world I would accept it but I dont think others would. You know what actually I wouldn't mind just subscribing to the DCS World program on a PCM basis while the engine is continually developed, What else pays for overhauls like Edge. B) Korea, for two whole wars that could be fought with new and old aircraft. And any time in between. And we wouldn't need to worry about the flight model for Korean Made aircraft.. Because they cant get off the ground. C) I dont understand why some people want a futuristic setting, then slam things like the F-22. Its gotta be a 70-90s setting. the ground vehicles are there and the only aircraft that are coming in in any kind of fidelity are those types of ages. Id like to say Falklands, as a brit, but I dont think there is the scope for it to have the same lifespan as it needs if georgia is anything to go by. And I hope someone as invaded Nevada, or its going to be allot of training exercises.

Given, However at least there is a general direction the Russians can come from. And the NATO forces do indeed have operational capabilities in the area, and there have been multiple conflicts. However Nevada. Now don't get me wrong I spend almost all my time in FSX either in Nevada/California (Edwards) or on Anglesey so its pretty much on the money for me. I just don't really get the reasoning. If they were a US company based in the area then understandable, unless its come from military contract work. Where is the A-10 Training Squadron that uses the Mil version of A-10 located anyways? Unless the Americans are planning training operations of last stand at area 51. Aha conspiracy theory, go.. Anyroad, Im glad its there there will be lots to do no doubt. I do spend most my time F**nying about than actually fighting campaigns so suits me quite well. Looking forward in anycase. I would actually pay for that! Agreed, The walking dead was severely lacking in CBUs and A-10s. However im sure there was a Huey in there somewhere... Donglr
I'd prefer a region where actual modern conflicts took/are taking place, i.e. Afghanistan, Iraq and the Balkan. My favorite would be Afghanistan, as it is a different climate zone than what we have now. Unlike Iraq it also has mountainous regions making it more interesting than Iraq to fly in. The Balkans would resemble more what we have now in terms of climate and appearance. So I vote for Afghanistan (if this was a poll at all)
