It was heard by some before it disappeared. Here is a synopsis.

 

Highlights, mostly nothing new

• Mid range DCS ACFT closer to FC level detail (around 0.26.00)
  
• F-86(:thumbup:) & Mig-15 in development (don't remember these two being mentioned before) (around 0.34.00)
  
• New Maps, ED & 3rd party (0.34.50)
  
• Maps (EDGE), Nevada (delayed a "bit"). When done should allow new maps being developed "quicker" (0.41.08 )
  
• After release of 1.2.3, finalize FC3, UH-1 will be released, work "diligently" on new modules (1.02.00)
  
• Dedicated Server in works, hand-in-hand development with EDGE....on hold currently (1.05.25)
  
• Eventually see a dynamic campaign. Not a question of "if" but "when" (1.10.00)
  
• F/A-18C & F-15C internal ED developed (not 3rd party) :thumbup: (1.11.40)
  
• "Probably" APG-73 radar (F/A-18C)
  
• "Probably" APG-63 Version 1 (F-15C)

That doesn't sound good. Does it mean we can forget further high fidelity addons like the A-10? Will F-15, F-18 and Su-27 be just soft-core aircraft?

no, Wags said F-15, F-18 and Su-27 will be study level (ka-50 and a-10c are study level sims, for comparison)

 

judging from the transcription (I didn't manage to listen to the latest podcast before it was taken down) it means that ED will continue to produce aircraft of lower fidelity (just not as part of the FC series, since FC3 is stated to be the last installment due to ubisoft being lovely chaps) in addition to study sim aircraft, and this can only be a good thing since it means DCS will be available to a much wider market

No it means that there will be both high fidelity aircraft, and medium/low fidelity aircraft produced for DCS World, as has been stated many times.

 

There is a lot of room for aircraft modelled to levels of fidelity and detail in between hi details DCS modules like A-10C and lo fidelity aircraft such as those in FC3.

I stopped flying the sim over this issue of continously broken promises and spurious release dates after buying rudder pedals thrustmaster hotas and trackIR, all I wanted to do was fly it over some desert terrain.

 

I'm enjoying FSX again and chasing my PPL in the real world. You lost a very loyal fan ED over delaying that one part of your product and instead branching out in a million different directions with all sorts of promises of amazing new releases that will all have to be flown over the black sea, trees trees and more trees.

WOW! Really? Let's cover a few inaccuracies shall we? It has been stated numerous times that Nevada will still be free to those whom pre-purchased DCS-10C during the days of the beta.

Broken promises? Name one... Or are you referring to "projections" or proposed schedules? Yeah, those aren't promises, but a future roadmap. You know - everything is subject to change.... I guess you would just rather have a product, any product, rather than a quality product...

ED didn't "branch out." Everything they have released or are in the process of working on has been in some form of development back when it was still going to be DCS A-10A... You fail to understand the complexity of what they are trying to achieve, the refinement, detail and usability to make their customers happy.

 

Nevada is no longer the map that we flew over during the beta. It was completely scrapped and rebuilt. Are you willing to pay $999 per module so they can hire more staff to get items released faster?

 

Loyalty? If what you call loyalty is what you demonstrate, please don't ever serve in any military...

 

Good luck on "chasing" your PPL versus pursuing it as it should be done.

 

 

Finally, the Mods/Devs won't say it, good bye... I hope you "donate" your DCS keys to someone else and never return the DCS series... I hope one day you actually mature and grow up, your "attitude" as it comes across in your post reveals that you are a young man - you have a lot to learn about life and you are surely going to be disappointed if you can't handle a simple, little delay in the releasing of a "map."

So maybe they lost one customer. But with their "branching out in a million different directions" (meaning - developing a wide variety of diverse planes), they will hopefully attract more than one customer to DCS.

 

But yes, I see why you hate flying over Georgia full of trees. Flying over sand, sand and more sand would be sooo different. :megalol:

To the guy getting a PPL... I've been down that road when I lived in the US and it was ridiculously expensive, and that was 10 years ago. For years I lived and breathed flying but unless you're really well-to-do, all that just lead to one disappointment after another. My advice would be to look into ultralight aircraft. I had some hours in a quicksilver and it was a lot of fun to fly in an open air. Good luck, man.
