IRIS?

What happened to the IRIS section in 3rd party projects? Did they quit development for DCS or is it a site issue?

They are on a hiatus for a bit... We don't know why but its nothing to be worried about.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

IRIS Simulations still hold a license, so please don't worry about that.

Their forum section still exists, it is just hidden at this time. Hopefully they will have DCS-related developments to show in the not too far off future, and then the section will return.

Come on guys, seriously, no need for conspiracy theories.

The section was inactive for a while.

We in forum administration are constantly worried about longitudinal distance of scrolling; each root-level section takes up space in the browser. This also means that our friends in russia have to scroll further.

For this reason, we try to keep this scrolling distance as clean as other interests allow.

Please secure your tin foil hats. :)

Hi Everyone!

Where shall I start.. :) First and foremost, let me put some of your concerns to rest.

1. It's business as usual at IRIS. No we haven't lost our contact, no we haven't had a falling out with ED and no we haven't cancelled anything.

2. The decision to hide the IRIS forums is the ED forum moderators decision. We respect their decision and the reasons behind it.

3. Yes I DID mention on the IRIS forums here late last year that I personally had to focus on finishing the PC-21 prior to doing any more work on our DCS line. The PC-21 was finished last week and I'm pretty sure I earned a weekend off after all that.. :)

4. Our commitment to DCS and the industry is as strong now as it always has been. Any suggestions including so called 'inside knowledge' is absolute rubbish. If you don't hear it directly from me..take it with a grain of salt! There are many out there who like to spin tall tales for their own benefit.

Anyway, I respect your passion for our team and the aircraft we produce. It's a shame to read some of the negative comments here, but that's the nature of the business.. everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. :)

So thank you all...and we'll advise you all when we have more to show.

~David.

What happened to IRIS simulations?

Sorry if this has been discussed already but, when did ED remove IRIS from the 3rd party forums?

Does that mean no more F-15E from them?

They haven't given up yet, lets keep the faith.... Because an F-14 in DCS would be so cool :)

Im not sure, its possible I guess but I wouldn't want to surmise, its a shame but I guess until there is new information to come from the developers it doesn't matter to much we can still access the forum to see the work that has already been done.

IRIS are looking for BETA testers for their DCS projects, so maybe they are further down the road with their products than was previously thought. I would love an F-14 for Christmas 2013!!!...

IRIS Flight Simulation Software

- DCS Update -

I've just spoken to Matt Wagner to discuss various DCS related items and progress by the team here at IRIS. As part of the conversation, I asked that the IRIS forums be removed completely and the slate wiped clean so that when we're ready to have new content to show, we'll have a nice new cleaned up forum without masses of old outdated topics.

So, if you can't see the forum from our website link, don't panic. All is well.

David.

Just saw this on the IRIS simulation website thought I'd share it with the DCS forum
