...EXPORT SCRIPTS ON!

 

I don't wanna play my tracks after every MP session just to get a Tacview recording...

 

So please, in network.cfg on your servers set this:

 

allow_object_export = true

So one can have Tacview running in real time on a second monitor providing a Gods-Eye view of the Battlefield?

Negative!

1. IIRC, this option ("Real Time Online Analysis") was created intentionally for some purpose and is present only in "pro" version

2. Even before Vyrtuoz implemented this, there were other ways/tools of exploiting "export on" option.

The guys over at 51st.org provide a locked acmi file which can only be unlocked after the mission (last time i flew on their DCS server it was turned off though...).

i just found out that its necessary for using HELIOS on a "foreign" server!

 

so please, all hosters:

Well, it's already possible, last I checked, to create exploits like that, even if the server has disabled LOGetWorldObjects and LOGetPositionByID or whatever the other one is. You just use modifications to the main simulation Lua environment to do your data export instead of the Lua export environment. You can't turn off main simulation Lua environment scripts when you gotta use them to make the game work right ;)

Just keep in mind that we still live on a planet with at least 60% beavis's and Butthead's. A popular open server with export on is a hot breedingground for these individuals.

 

It might work better for public passworded or private servers.

A guy can roam around any server he chooses and TK at leisure until he gets banned... or kicked... whether the server has exports on at all.

 

Admin your servers, get slmod working for you... ban the offenders.

 

Not enabling a feature that acts to restrict clients services- like tacview or helios etc- on that 1 in 10 chance that some douche canoe is going to come in and have a god view of your server with tangible gain?

 

Certainly people can do what they want with their own servers. Most lock 'em up... many apparently don't allow export...

 

Ours is open... I monitor the logs after... I watch the tacview files every now and then... I get updated in the server threads... I go back in, find the offenders, ban them... then don't ever have to worry again. For the amount of extra enjoyment the client gets versus the occasional smacktard I ban in 20 seconds... the risk is worth the benefit (IMO).

Helios works as it should in MP. Make sure your Helios DCS setup is configured first, then check the threads on how to get Helios and 1.2.3 working.

thanks to JG_14Smil, i double and triple checked it and found a little failure in my lua...

 

-> it was my fault, everything is cool ;)

but i still can't use my Helios in every open server like before...

 

even in my own server i have to set to "true", otherwise it isnt working...
