Didn't think it would have an autopilot on this model, no autopilot on the dodo Jetranger, hope it's still going to be a Flight challenge ?

Does anybody know if the rotor in the game will be dynamic ? I mean, rotor tilting ( teetering ) from one side to another, completely freely ( and not immobile as I can see know ) and according to small wind/gusts on the parking ? Like every Bell semi-rigid, teetering rotor system actually do ?

the autopilot is, according to the manual, used to simulate the pilot flying the aircraft so you can concentrate on shooting stuff up. Guess they lack proper ai for this atm. You could used it during normal flight too i guess, that's when it would be considered a cheat.

The autopilot supplied is a game mechanic, not an aircraft system!

Thanks, that's a relief. Better build up them fore arm muscles guys for them long flights, especially if you fly with the X65f ?

OK GENTS - as with the P-51 I want to see videos of your first take off attempt.

Should be fun :)

I'm sure take off won't be a challenge as the P-51, but landing on the other end..... :pilotfly::joystick::music_whistling:

My first takeoff was beautiful... and then my engine overheated 1 minute into the flight... and then I discovered takeoff assistance was on by default... My third takeoff didn't go as well, but that's because I slammed the throttle forward with full flaps and no rudder trim.

I assume the Huey will be easier on the first takeoff, because even with more control coupling etc., I won't be going 70 MPH down the runway when something goes wrong, so I can just drop the collective and bounce to safety instead of bursting into flames.

I guess not the takeoff but the hover taxi could be a problem for some ;)

Just finished reading the entire thread and clicked to the product page (in hope maybe nobody realised it was already released) to see rotors just below the P51 and DCS pictures !!! Never been so sad to scroll down and see a picture of my beloved Ka-50 (instead of a Huey).

If you can balance on a basketball, you should be able to fly the Huey, easy ?

Haha thats very fine :megalol::megalol:

in P-51D the take off is more challenging than the landing

but in UH-1H i guess hovering will be the most challenging stance :D

This time around I think we should get to see the first take-off vids from Wags and all of the testers. Of course, we know they did not keep any. :D

I think, that the most challenging thing will be the transitions between flight regimes. Hover > Cruise > Hover will be a lot of fun, stick wobbling and footwork

We will be apologising to Akula that we were complaining about her autopilot chanels and rotor design :D

Hover to Cruise is fairly straight forward, the reverse however, is not.

Take-off is a cake-walk, provided you're not hamfisted with the controls and have nimble feet. Returning to terra-firma from any altitude you cannot safely jump from and putting her down on the spot you left from........well now, we'll wait and see :D
