F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible

Recommended Posts

Honestly, by now there should be plenty of TrackIR's on eBay to get one cheap and relatively speaking a new one isn't really that expensive either especially since it is an investment you will be using for a very long time (unless you go VR). For those that want to DIY something go for it, but if you want something now that works, you won't be disappointed with a TrackIR 4 or 5. Next to a proper joystick, it is the most important thing any sim pilot should have (yes, more important than rudder pedals - though rudder pedals are a very close 3rd). Once you own one, you'll wonder why you made yourself suffer to so long not having one. Also, if you want to save a little money, get the one with the clip that attaches to a hat - you don't need the LED clip. The hat clip works just fine.

I've been using head tracking since 2000 (TrackIR 3, then TrackIR 5) and if it wasn't for head tracking I wouldn't be an avid sim pilot. So forget the cost Ya, money matters, but also ask yourself, what the value of your "fun time" is. Flying a sim without head tracking is like flying a sim without a joystick. You can do it, but it really isn't the same.

I'm not putting down people that want to DIY their own head tracker and I'm not putting down hegykc's efforts either (he'll get there when he gets there), I'm just saying that consider your time is important too, and waiting for hegykc to make a head tracker is time lost when you could be enjoying a flight sim with a TrackIR, or your own DIY effort. Life is short, and the cost of a TrackIR isn't really that expensive in the scheme of things.

Big, bold, red letters. Now OP for sure will drop anything he was doing to start typing up an update...

Have you considered the possibility that there are simply no news at this point?

At this point, unless its to announce a product is for sale, its not news.

Sent when i should be working instead

Well, in that case the myth is more of self induced based on hope and expectations, true that some 'expected' target dates been stated since first post. Then followed later on by disclamers and their reasons.

Combine a vision of high quality, in depth know-how, low cost and fast time to market with cross reference to a compatible flora of products in one guy enterprise approach, there is bound to be exceptions and replaning.

I looking forward to each update (and will in future also) regardless of if or when his products reach the market. When and if possible I'll buy in on any products within scope.

As long the thread is here and not in a sale thread, it's a discouss and sharing of ideas in my view even if there has been dates, estimates etc stated.

No disrespect to any intended, just a remainder to to keep faith and respect up

(Disregard bad grammer above)

Best

Just very intriguing that Hegykc has stopped bothering to post regular updates which he himself had accepted

was lacking from him and had promised to provide regularly in future

It always makes me chuckle when folks in this thread discount people being skeptical in this thread. I mean, it's not baseless. Not at all

If he ends up going under, probably due to excessive diversification. His concept for a generic dash has no equivalent on the market, and would be an immediate replacement for things like the Saitek switch panels. He'd have an instanta market. Then he could gradually branch into specialised products. Honestly, he shouldn't even be designing some of this stuff, he should, imo, focus on one thing and do it right, preferably something with mass appeal.

No offense to Hegyc. Just my thoughts. I have family that crashed several businesses because of not staying focused or not treating their 'business' like a 'business'.

Or just split the year. Produce and sell and ship q4 and design the rest of the year. Still all that time to design. But money is flowing in

I am no longer going to project negative thoughts about this. It either will, or will not, come to fruition. If it does, I will be lining up to spend my money. If it doesn't well, then it is what it is.

I can tell you guys one thing and that is; This is the weirdest thread I have ever been on...

Let's just bury this thread till Hegykc reopens it...

This has turned from a thread of our support for his products to being completely ignored by him ...

The least that anybody would expect is to see regular updates from Hegykc... Whether his products reach fruition or not is another thing altogether...

Just for the sake of creativity...

I don't normally respond to these discussions on the internet, because of all the opinionated people who will never step away from their own opinions under any circumstance, but this time I'll make an exception. (And I'll probably regret it)

Yes, I have been following this thread from the beginning.

Yes, I am super hyped for the products that are being promised.

But why won't people let the guy do his thing and just wait until he releases his products?

Letting him know how you would run HIS business is likely not going to change a thing and is certainly not going to speed up the development time.

Telling him when and how he should post an update is likely not going to change a thing and is certainly not going to speed up the development time.

Yes, I think that an update doesn't take a long time to write, but we don't know what is going on behind the scenes and if there actually is anything worth showing every month. Development of high quality products either takes time or brings huge costs, of which the latter he is trying to keep as low as possible for us (!), the consumer.

Just. Be. Patient.
