I think the idea is they are, at their own pace, gravitating towards dynamic campaign by adding this and that features here and there. That's what I got from reading these forums. And what is 201?

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Only problem is, we may never see the first one. At least not study level. To be honest, more accurate status would be "F-22 Raptor: (maybe in 30 years after declassification)" ;)

do they want a dynamic campaign or a campaign generator?

The former would be somthing similar to F4

The latter would be like the mission generator they have now, except that there would be overall campaign objectives and equipment assigned to each side at the start, and then each generated mission would take into account the results from the previous one.

In its simplest form, the aggressor side would need to travel to one or several distant locations using the forces in their order of battle, but the process of getting there would be carved up into missions and time increments.

As long as people whine that it kills them a lot and that they can't see it on their radars and can't out-turn it, it's modeled well enough ;)

Agree! We all want to be as close to real thing as it gets but let me tell you I don't mind to participate in long beta process with this model (F22R) they should do something like ARMA III early access I would not mind that at all.

The new graphics engine they are working on.

Which couldn't really come sooner as there is a really odd juxtaposition within the game in that all the planes and ground units look awesome while the terrain and effects look like they are from games from the late 90s - which I guess is not technically far off from the truth.

Once we get a bit more eye candy it will also be a lot easier to promote the game to new comers and will totally annihilate FSX once and for all.

Is there any place that's got a general collated overview of Edge? The ED wiki and Google provide glimpses here and there, but from some of the things people are saying in this thread I'm getting the impression that it's more comprehensive than just more naturalistic scenery and optimization/multi-threading changes.

Really looking forward to it, in any case - The current way of doing things has been starting to show it's kludge-iness.

For when it goes wrong: Win10x64, GTX1080, Intel i7 @3.5 GHz, 32GB DDR3, Warthog HOTAS, Saitek combat rudder pedals, TrackIR 5 / Vive Pro, a case of Pabst, The Funk

There is not and most of what you read is unfounded speculation. One of the few things we know is that it will not work with the existing map. So whatever benefits it will bring are going to be limited to missions flown on new maps (i.e. Nevada).

Maybe can you, Silver_Dragon, add in reference the fact that a 3rd party can:

- Create a 'Module' for DCS World

- Create a module called 'DCS: Module',

And the differences between the two...

(I foresee that as recurrent question ;) )

DCS Wish: Turbulences affecting surrounding aircraft...

 You're the man!

EDIT: You may add LOATC for DCS World, by 'DArt' (as official 3rd party)

State: Seems to be pre-beta (internal beta with live tests)
