And the Force Feedback FPS drops for Sidewinder FF2 users? It was fixed for the 1.2.4?

:joystick:

I think many who own the msffb2 don't even realize that they should be getting better fps.

Now is it a DCS Issue, or a Microsoft Driver Issue?

I've seen posts/threads on other games message boards regarding MS-SWFFB Sticks Driver issues.

Well, we don´t have this kind of problem in any other simulation games. My MSFF2 works perfectly with many others games like Il-2 CoD, Il-2 46 and Strike Fighters Series.

It's good that we are seeing fixes coming for the CBUs and some of the smoke issues. What about explosion effects in general and the performance of campaigns?

A new effect for cluster munitions is being developed to address this issue, but it simply is not ready yet.

Fantastic, looking forward to that!

The new effects has only for CBU 97/105 or all cluster bombs?

Perfect! I can't speak for everyone else but I am contented by that information.

Now then... about those network issues...

The effect for cbu 97 is awesome. I hope we won't loose, that. I think the cbu 87 explosion FX are the problem. They cause the fps drop for me...not so much as the 97s. Overall...i guess its the smoke FX which is behind the fps issues. Perhaps a new shader optimization and re written effects can be the actual solution rather than just mending an unoptimized FX system.

Respectfully, those games arent as CPU intensive either. (Well, CLoD is).

Zilla, our game works fine when we disable the FF setting, its just when this option is on in the game that the FPS drops. If I use my Precision Pro 2 the problem gone too. Got it?

I sit with my back to the door at work you know! I'm always nervous when visiting non work related sites so the extra seconds to type smilies code is nerve wrecking. :P

Yes, I was joking about the 6DOF pit. duh!

EDIT - Oh, great, I received a negative rep. I see it's at least 12 hours before someone wakes up on the other side of the world to find out I was joking... wonderful. --> :D <--

MS's FFB Driver, I'd assume its a driver issue, as it's limited to that specific device, and turning off FFB either disables the code in MS's Driver, or Disables the FFB Code in DCS,

ED Doesnt Make the Drivers, So if it's a driver issue, good luck, it took forever to get MS to Put out a 64 Bit driver for that Stick, which is why alot of people abandoned it.

Sure you're not thinking of the original msffb joystick? The msffb2 has always been the joystick of choice for Rise of Flight with 64bit win7. Flying the DCS P-51 without ffb is like making love to a card board box.

The Original wont work regardless, MSFFBSW 1 was Gameport, and all support for GamePORT was dropped from Windows Vista and Onward, regardless of 32 or 64 Bit.

The SWFFB2 only had 32-bit drivers for most of Vista's First 2 years, With Windows 8 and Several Updates to Vista, the Stick should use a Generic Driver MS Put out quickly for 64-Bit HID USB Sticks. AFAIK, Alot of People have issues with the SideWinder Software fighting with DCS.

Like I said, I'm not a programmer, So I cannot say 100% if it's a Driver Issue (MS) or a Game Issue (ED).

Hey, that's still faster than 1.2.3 came out after the changelog was posted... I'm cool with it being next week!

Very true. I'm cool with it. I have new PC components on the way and the timing might work out just fine.
