Nealius Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I downloaded the update this afternoon and it was done and installed in 10 minutes...if that. What's everyone else's connection speed?
jdkirk904 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I just downloaded the new update 1.2.4, and in it I found the module manager. Entering it, I found the modules listed with either buy or install next to them. I did the KA-50, and the P-51, but the A-10C had a buy next to it. Going into the installed section shows the A-10C as installed but has no CD Key, which the other two have. I bought the A-10C through Steam, but I can't get the installed section to enter my CD Key for the A-10C. I need to be able to have the key listed, so the A-10C will turn from buy, to install to finish the update. How do I over come this problem? Kirk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kragsky Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 And I just CAN'T install because the installation wizard closes by itself just after openning. DCS World, CArms, FC3 and BS2, all of the installation wizards close just after openning... So frustrating. Now I just cant play anymore !!! If you have not already done so, manually download and install the updated a10 module. My A-10C (bought on steam) and BS2 is also listed as buy even though I have them already. Since our keys are not associated with the DCS account, it shows up as we haven't bought that product. But DCS A-10 and Ka50 are already activated due to the other keys that we have. No problem though...the game works...all aircraft are flyable. FreeFall Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Autoupdated successfully a few hours ago. No problems whatsoever. Download speed peaks were 1600 KB/s, average maybe 1000 KB/s. I only have A-10C module. Took some 20 minutes to get all done. I use Helios, and I had to restore my export .lua-files as usual, but that's not a problem, just routine after any autoupdate.

HiJack Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I'm realy starting to like the new layout of Mission Editor. Also the much needed new action features for mission building. Still some of them to test out ;)
kragsky Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Try doing a repair via the start menu in the ED section. It is not possible because after being unsuccessiful in updating, I uninstalled DCS World. So there is no ''Repair DCS World'' anymore. As I cant re-install the game, I am stuck... that's why I am asking for help. Intel DP35DP Core 2 Duo E8400 NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Windows 7

amalahama Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Seriously, Kamov and A-10C need badly an electric system overhaul, the old model is just too plain. And what happened with INS Drift and realistic alignment? Regards!

The updater does nothing for 382 seconds and then silently exits? And what do you mean by DCS World, CArms, FC3 and BS2, all of the installation wizards close just after openning.. ? Did you use standalone installers? Did you use the Module manager? Dmitry S. Baikov @ Eagle Dynamics LockOn FC2 Soundtrack Remastered out NOW everywhere - https://band.link/LockOnFC2.
kragsky Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Is really this empty? The updater does nothing for 382 seconds and then silently exits? And what do you mean by ? Did you use standalone installers? Did you use the Module manager? ********************* I didn't use de module manager. First I tryed to use the updater. The updater ended with a pop up error message (happened with other several people of this forum too). When I noticed the updater wasn't working, I uninstalled the DCS World, BS2, FC3 and CArms. Then I downloaded the standalone installers. When I tryed to reinstall, the installer didn't let me install on the same folder the old (1.2.3) version was installed. Then I created a new folder and installed the new 1.2.4 version of DCS World. It worked (at that moment I had both versions installed). Then I installed CArms standalone. It worked but the ground units didn't lock their weapons. Then, I tryed to install FC3 standalone, but the installer kept closing itself seconds after openning. So, I tryed to install BS2 standalone, and it kept closing too. I lost my patience and then uninstalled version 1.2.4 and 1.2.3. Since then, I am not able to install neither the 1.2.3 nor the 1.2.4 DCS World because EVERY standalone installer closes itself just after oppening. (I use Windows XP SP3) I'm thinking of reinstalling windows but I don't want to do that... Intel DP35DP Core 2 Duo E8400 NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Windows 7
ED Team c0ff Posted May 4, 2013 ED Team Posted May 4, 2013 The updater ended with a pop up error message (happened with other several people of this forum too). Which one, exactly? When I noticed the updater wasn't working, I uninstalled the DCS World, BS2, FC3 and CArms. Then I downloaded the standalone installers. When I tryed to reinstall, the installer didn't let me install on the same folder the old (1.2.3) version was installed. Then I created a new folder and installed the new 1.2.4 version of DCS World. It worked (at that moment I had both versions installed). If you uninstalled the DCS, why the installer didn't let you to install? And how do you happen to still have both versions installed at this point? Then, I tryed to install FC3 standalone, but the installer kept closing itself seconds after openning. So, I tryed to install BS2 standalone, and it kept closing too. Something is definitely wrong with the system. Installers do no have a habit to close silently. Install logs may be of some help. They are in the Temp dir, named "Setup Log (DATE) #(number).txt" Also you can try to use the Module manager. Dmitry S. Installation of DCS World is doing fine up to now. The ''old and buggy'' windows is still there in the first hard disk, with all my other programs. At least now I (hope) will be able to play. Grimes Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Can we have update sizes posted with the change logs please? That should stop people like me coming to ask... Does anyone know how big the update for World and Ka-50 module is (from previous version)? When you download it, it does say how big of a file it has to download. My best guess for DCS World by itself is a little over a gigabyte, with the Ka-50 part of the patch being quite small at a max size of 100 mb. But that is really a guesstimation. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. ED Team c0ff Posted May 5, 2013 ED Team Posted May 5, 2013 Can we have update sizes posted with the change logs please? That should stop people like me coming to ask... It largely depends on the installed modules and language and the version you update from. So, for each mod it's sizeof(new common files) + sizeof(new binary files [64 or 32 bit]) + sizeof(new language files). We'll think about posting rough estimates. Dmitry S.
