Napa Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 From the 1995 SSI Su-27 Flanker to the 2015 DCS Su-27 Flanker. ED can make a 20 years anniversary with this:yay:. pappavis Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 No word if that Su-27 is the SM variant they talked about in interviews. is it? Could be the Su-27SM, as seen in this WIP-video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAGegPjWjtk met vriendelijke groet, Михель "умный, спортсмен, комсомолетс" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] [TABLE]SPECS: i9-9900K 32gigs RAM, Geforce 2070RTX, Creative XFi Fata1ity, TIR5, Valve Index & HP Reverb, HOTAS Warthog, Logitech G933 Headset, 10Tb storage.[/TABLE]
Weta43 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 SU-27 and SU-25 both only have connectors and animations for gauges, displays/lights/mirrors and flight controls. None for switches or buttons. Actually the Su-25A does have some animation for switches/dials/buttons (see flaps switch/lockout, WCS switches and knobs, NAV system buttons). To me - the Su-25A has the most detailed model of the new cockpits, and by your logic would therefore be somewhere at the front of the module list, but I don't think that's the case... Cheers.
pyromaniac4002 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 F/A-18C or F-15C, I don't care which comes out first. I just want them to do whatever will get the next DCS aircraft out fastest. If that means using the 6DOF cockpit and skins already available for the FC3 F-15C, I'm all for it. And for the people who feel like FC3 is worthless now, I'll just say I'm happy to keep it around for when I have a friend or two over and they don't have the slightest clue of how to fly anything. They can pick it up much faster than throwing them straight in to the A-10C, and it's still a whole lot of fun. I for one am very happy to have both a simple and detailed F-15C/Su-27.
Cake Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I think the new 27 pit looks great. Full DCS mode will be awesome. 6700K@4.6 48Gb - 1080Ti Hybrid - Warthog - RIFT

thereminqblank Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I'm loving the new frequency of updates. Great stuff! Looks like a lot of exciting stuff coming up! "Unholy Roller" [sIGPIC]http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/userbars/A-10C_UserBar_01.gif[/sIGPIC]
Rotorhead Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Great news, thank you for this update Wags! Now I can't wait till next Friday, to learn more about my beloved Flanker coming into DCS. What I dreamt for years is finally getting close to become true! I hope we're still talking about SM variant, the one with multirole capability and stuff. Ya know, those pure A2A jets are soooo boring...*dodges tomatoes and bricks thrown by Eagle folks, hides under table* But no worries ED, I will still buy your Flanker at the first day, even if it's the most basic variant.
jp203000 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Not a word about EDGE though... :/ Leave wags some information for next friday and next and next....:) 1
Keyser Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Wags, thanks for the update and EDs new information politics. Whatever the reaction to the information itself may be, I hope I can speak for everyone when I say that we greatly appreciate getting a better insight into the development process. As for the F-15C and the Su-27: Whenever you will be ready to release them (at A-10 levels of fidelity), I will be ready to buy them and study them and fly them. About that, would the Su-27 cockpit have an English version? 1
garengarch Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 DCS: Flanker - I've been waiting for that for a long time. Since Flanker really ! Great news Vega 2700x /16Gb ram/480Gb SSD/1Tb Seagate/nVidia 2080/Win 10 64 bit Rift. T-flight pedals.

NRG-Vampire Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Could be the Su-27SM, as seen in this WIP-video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAGegPjWjtk i guess this is a 3rd party FC2 lom cockpit model - not from ED - but nice

ishtmail Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Could be the Su-27SM, as seen in this WIP-video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAGegPjWjtk I would say no, as what you see in that video is actually a mod and that cockpit has not been developed by ED. Since ED gave us a 6DOF cockpit for Su27, I'd put my bets that that's the one they will simulate. Not least because (as was said several times) it's very difficult to obtain info on active airplanes from the Russian military, and since ED doesn't cut corners by giving us anything less than 100% accurate sims with the DCS mark, my guess is that ED can't get accurate info on the modernized variants (such as the SM versions), but the old SU-27 documentation might not be impossible to get, as the plane is basically obsolete and doesn't need the 'top secret' label any more. mmaruda Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 It's cool to see ED finally going back to the roots with Su-27. But while we're here spamming hopes and speculations, I think the devs should really focus on fixing what's broken. 1.2.4 broke the sounds in the Mustang, there is no primer sound, no fuel pump sound and the radio doesn't click. There is also this irritating rainbow line around the edges of the cockpit. Explosions and gun firing effects still haven't been fixed and cause serious slow-downs. As far as I know, nothing has been confirmed in this matter. While I would really love to see the Su-27 like tomorrow, I'd rather the see the broken/WIP stuff fixed first. And maybe Nevada/EDGE. ;)

Kaktus29 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) amazing news.. woow, DCS Su-27 and F-15 )) awesome stuff.. If the Su-27 is at least a SM version i think this will make the Su-27 quite the bombardier compared to what it offers now.. maybe even guided bombs ability and some SEAD ability as well.. Edited May 4, 2013 by Kaktus29
leafer Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Su-27!!!!!!!! I secretly hoped they would spring that on me one of these days. I love team ED. It's worth noting that the excellence of DCS: Huey means that third party doesn't necessarily equal lower quality. I'm willing to bet my virgin behind some of those guys at Belsimtek are ex ED employees. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
