ENO Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Hmmm updater (manual) isn't picking it up yet on my end... Had to read the thread again to see there is some beta / release confusion and Maverick must have been talking about their beta server updated. Lucifah Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Damn, I deleted the open beta from my PC only yesterday. Wasn't aware that moving forward things come to openbeta first and then get released on official branch days later. Anyway, good stuff! cichlidfan Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Right now the update is available only for Open Beta. In the release version will be at Monday. Sorry for incorrect announcing. Irregular programming Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 What is the point of the Open Beta, if you already plan on releasing the update on Monday (in three days) anyway? The open beta is probably the same as the internal testing branch for release. And you are not supposed to use the open beta for small releases such as this.
Flagrum Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 What is the point of the Open Beta, if you already plan on releasing the update on Monday (in three days) anyway? Alone to keep the Open Beta in sync with the Release version is a good point. At some day the Open Beta will be updated to 1.2.8 and then a new official testing phase begins. (all this as "imho")
SkateZilla Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 What is the point of the Open Beta, if you already plan on releasing the update on Monday (in three days) anyway? if there are any major issues, they can always post pone the monday update to the non beta branch. Davee Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Worth Downloading the Beta Now? Hi Guys, Since 1.2.7 is final, is it worth downloading the 1.2.7 beta for further testing or . . . . will there be a new beta for 1.2.8? Would the existing 1.2.7 beta be used as a platform for 1.2.8 testing? I'm asking this because the download time to get the beta is horrendous and if it is not being used further, I will wait but if it is going to be used as a basis for further testing of 1.2.8, I'll bite the bullet and start the download. Any advice much appreciated. Cheers, Cats . . .
