DCS World or Helicopter World

So, in your opinion we have right now 3 modern attack helicopters, which can seriously impact on battle?

Right now we don't have even one heli that we could compare to an A-10C or the upcoming F-18C in terms of modern avionics and weapons.

I think the more airplanes you'll get the more you will request.It is time to bring in some modern helicopter and not another jet in addition to a-10 and f-18.

 

I don't remember mentioning anything DCS helicopter capabilites in my post. :)

 

But the fact is that there are more viable DCS helicopters than planes in DCS World at the moment. And I also stated that it will change in future months.

 

PS:

I don't wanna make this jet fans vs heli fans. It's not about that.

Ahh..the good old Question for a DCS Level Fighter Jet...seriously..if I was in ED I really would push that on prio 1, because everyone seems to wait for that. But you know...developing a Fighter for the Community who screams for 100% realism..is surely quite hard..this takes time...I really love the Modules so far..and the Fighter will come...no doubt

No, you didn't I just made a comparison. Like you said about mig-21, the hawk, the p-51 they wouldn't make such a big impact on battle, same goes for current helis we have.

I'm glad they were released and am enjoying flying them,shooting at ground targets.

But the modern combat needs a modern heli. We were promised an Ah-64A after the A-10C

but the plans have changed, instead ED is making an f-18C, so you should be happy and have some patience.;)

You're right. The "modern" combat simulator isn't working for either party at the moment.

 

If not nothing else, at least my wallet is happy about all these older/trainer A/C and helis.:lol:

At this point many wouldn't mind if it's FC3 fidelity. ( although with the clickable cockpit it's arguably gonna be at least a few steps above it)

Or any new FC level modern jet that would fit into current DCS World enviroment. Anything that would change the impression

 

The last new plane to be released was P-51 in 2012, and that one doesn't really fit in much, at least not until DCS WW2 comes out.

 

Flaming Cliffs 3 is just a repeat of previous Flaming Cliffs incarnations that allows it to function in DCS World enviroment and with additional graphical make-up. It needed to be done and it also allows more flexibility and accessibility. But apart from that, it's same planes, same avionics. Nothing ground breaking for those who have been playing since Lock On.

 

DCS Hawk is looking very nice and looks on par with A-10C, but it's not a plane that you take into any serious form of combat and come back alive or do much of an impact on the battle. It's gonna be great for aerobatic teams or squads that will want to train rookies with an appropriate plane.

But not for people who prefer combat.

 

Mig-21bis is also looking great and will work better for people who want combat airplanes, although it might be a bit outdated compared to the threats it's gonna be facing but that problem might go away if more comparable planes and equipment are released in the future. ( fingers crossed that F-100D will follow soon)

 

Other than these two, what else is new for jet fans in DCS?

New flight models for two jets that have been around since 2003?

F-18C is far, far away according to Wags and Super Bug developers aren't really keen on giving out information. ( can't really blame them)

That's it. IRIS is pretty much gone, Kinney is gone, Mil-Sim gone, RAZBAM is being awfully quiet...

 

 

So let's be honest, the near future is bleak for fans of Modern Air Combat and Rikus is right in way.

Currently this is Helicopter World, but it will change for the better this year.

i think once a person recognizes realities its better, .. the turnover is simply not huge enough to warrant such quick development that would be in line with other genres of pc games (1-2 years of development before release of new game)..

 

since the market is small, everything becomes harder i guess.. its okei.. just don't WAIT, continue with your lives, play other games, and keep your ED page refreshed once a month to see what is going on.. i know i will definitely play new products that will come, but until they do i shouldn't be angry or nervous or demanding things to happen quicker.. ED has its own plan, let them be..

 

it is a bit depressing that this niche of a market is really becoming dry.. ED is pretty much the only one left in the game..

 

we will see what future brings.. i hope positive things, ..

I'm not an arse licking fanboy nor am I a hater. I think ED did a pretty good job bringing the 50 and 10C to the public as AFAIK no other party has ever done that to the DCS extent before.

I've wondered why the focus on realism in DCS. If things are simulated, approximated, and simplified to start with, why let these problems bog down development when you can just invent an answer with an imaginary world?

 

The detail of the map itself could be greatly enhanced if they forget mapping the real world and make a custom enviornment.

The realism is part of the charm, but it lacks some things that I think most people will agree are a part of 21st century games. Although I DO UNDERSTAND it's a technical limitation based upon the size of data.

I think ED do an absolutely fabulous job with this sim. They have got my full support. They are providing constant updates and product improvement all the time and they do listen to us....the user and take in what our opinions are.

 

They have my long term support and custom without any doubt.
