Simple question: which aircraft would you love to see, but know will not reallistically be done in the forseeable future?

Let me start with 2 aircraft I'd sell my soul for:

Hawker-Tempest-JN757-04.jpg

- DCS Hawker Tempest V

Because it is (one of) the best single-engine prop fighters of the war, and it looks gorgeous and mean at the same time. Would be a perfect opponent for the Dora. Oh and did I mention the 3000hp 24-cylinder napier sabre engine?

F9F_VF-71_over_TF77_1952.jpeg

- DCS F9F Panther

It's probably not an extraordinary plane per the flight characteristics, but the most beautiful plane the US Navy ever had IMHO. And I love the idea of carrier ops in general (just can't wait for DCS F/A-18).

So go ahead, let the dreamer inside you free and tell us what exotic aircraft you would like in DCS!

well since you asked so nicely;

The Valkyrie VF1 from Robotech/Macross

The colonial Viper from the BSG show.

Pure fantasy, I know.

Fantasy you say?

Definitely the Aerospatiale SA-2 Samson! Or any generation of the Orca VTOL.

F-4G Wild Weasel V

MiG-27K Flogger J2

MiG-25BM Foxbat F

MC-130H Combat Talon II

CV-22B Osprey

and an A-10B

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

Oh boy, I have tons....

First, I want the CFA-44. It can track and launch missiles against 12 targets simultaneously, or use railguns.

Also, the FALKEN, which can shoot laser beams.

And lastly something sweet for me and a buddy to fly in together, either an F-14, F-15 , F-18, SU-32, or SU-34.

CV-22B

This!! ^

Hopefully Belsimtek would take on the modeling of it, given their experience with rotorcrafts. That'd just be awesome. Besides, however did it is the first to have modeled a tilt rotor FM.

Too bad it's not going to happen...

You can read further on it here:

Another interesting aircraft would be the AC-130 gunship with switchable crew members positions.

By the way - another thing I would find to be extremely fun to fly is ASW. Hunting down enemy subs should be wild! :-)

boring as hell seems more likely. You'd spend your time flying your aircraft for hours and hours over water where there's nothing to see, ultimately culminating in a sensor contact or a periscope sighting (soon dependant on the era) on which you'll drop a weapon the result of which you may not even observe.....

Spruce Goose would be great fun

"After picking up speed on the channel facing Cabrillo Beach, the Hercules lifted off, remaining airborne at 70 ft (21 m) off the water and a speed of 135 miles per hour (217 km/h) for around a mile (1.6 km)"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hughes_H-4_Hercules

Good to see it got of the water and was classified as airworthy shortly after.

or in modern times

Alenia Aermacchi M-311

Nice sleek looking trainer

It would depend on the mission design - obviously flying ASW for 8 hours on a Nimrod or a Poseidon would be boring. But if the submarines are tasked to get to a certain point to attack a convoy or launch cruise missiles and there you are - laying sonar buoys to intercept them - that would be fun. Of course the mission should have a time limit.

Any way - who would have known, that ferrying troops in a chopper is fun? ;-)

UH-60A/L/M with DAP capability. The Mike wouldn't need any modification, but I don't know how feasible it is to get the DTS, MFDs and FMS working on it due to OPSEC crap.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Sepecat Jaguar GR3a...

And the Blackburn Buccaneer.. Complete with Ark Royal.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
