PLP Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Simple question: which aircraft would you love to see, but know will not reallistically be done in the forseeable future? Let me start with 2 aircraft I'd sell my soul for: - DCS Hawker Tempest V Because it is (one of) the best single-engine prop fighters of the war, and it looks gorgeous and mean at the same time. Would be a perfect opponent for the Dora. Oh and did I mention the 3000hp 24-cylinder napier sabre engine? - DCS F9F Panther It's probably not an extraordinary plane per the flight characteristics, but the most beautiful plane the US Navy ever had IMHO. And I love the idea of carrier ops in general (just can't wait for DCS F/A-18). So go ahead, let the dreamer inside you free and tell us what exotic aircraft you would like in DCS! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sharpe Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 well since you asked so nicely; The Valkyrie VF1 from Robotech/Macross The colonial Viper from the BSG show. Pure fantasy, I know. 1
tobaschi Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 a unicorn with wings, i would call that modul 'the wagsicorn'
SFAL Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 MIG 31 ME 262 F 111 TIE DEFENDER since im dreaming anyways
Suchacz Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 As a loyal patriot I must suggest a Aero Vodochody L-159 ALCA, a succesor of a L-39 Albatros  Per aspera ad astra! Crucial reading about DCS: Black Shark - Black Shark and Coaxial Rotor Aerodynamics, Black Shark and the Trimmer, Black Shark – Autopilot: Part 1, Black Shark – Autopilot: Part 2
JayPee Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Fantasy you say? Definitely the Aerospatiale SA-2 Samson! Or any generation of the Orca VTOL. i7 4790K: 4.8GHz, 1.328V (manual) MSI GTX 970: 1,504MHz core, 1.250V, 8GHz memory
Luzifer Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 ME 262 The Me 262 will not be a fantasy forever, it's going to be in DCS WWII.
Vampyre Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) Fantasy... OK, I'll bite. I'd like to see an AST-21 http://www.topedge.com/alley/text/other/tomcat21.htm As for aircraft that actually flew The F-111D/F F-105G Wild Weasel III and F-105D T-stick II F-4G Wild Weasel V MiG-27K Flogger J2 MiG-25BM Foxbat F MC-130H Combat Talon II CV-22B Osprey and an A-10B Edited January 14, 2014 by Vampyre Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! "If at first you don't succeed, Carrier Landings are not for you!"
Sel94 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Oh boy, I have tons.... First, I want the CFA-44. It can track and launch missiles against 12 targets simultaneously, or use railguns. Also, the FALKEN, which can shoot laser beams. And lastly something sweet for me and a buddy to fly in together, either an F-14, F-15 , F-18, SU-32, or SU-34.
JayPee Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 CV-22B This!! ^ Hopefully Belsimtek would take on the modeling of it, given their experience with rotorcrafts. That'd just be awesome. Besides, however did it is the first to have modeled a tilt rotor FM. Too bad it's not going to happen... i7 4790K: 4.8GHz, 1.328V (manual) MSI GTX 970: 1,504MHz core, 1.250V, 8GHz memory
Gloom Demon Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) This baby should be fun: :) You can read further on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lun-class_ekranoplan Another interesting aircraft would be the AC-130 gunship with switchable crew members positions. Gloom Demon Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 By the way - another thing I would find to be extremely fun to fly is ASW. Hunting down enemy subs should be wild! :-) AMD Ryzen 3600, Biostar Racing B850GT3, AMD Rx 580 8Gb, 16384 DDR4 2900, Hitachi 7K3000 2Tb, Samsung SM961 256Gb SSD, Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X, Samsung S24F350 24'
Sharpe Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 By the way - another thing I would find to be extremely fun to fly is ASW. Hunting down enemy subs should be wild! :-) boring as hell seems more likely. You'd spend your time flying your aircraft for hours and hours over water where there's nothing to see, ultimately culminating in a sensor contact or a periscope sighting (soon dependant on the era) on which you'll drop a weapon the result of which you may not even observe.....
Winfield_Gold Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) Spruce Goose would be great fun "After picking up speed on the channel facing Cabrillo Beach, the Hercules lifted off, remaining airborne at 70 ft (21 m) off the water and a speed of 135 miles per hour (217 km/h) for around a mile (1.6 km)" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hughes_H-4_Hercules Good to see it got of the water and was classified as airworthy shortly after. or in modern times Alenia Aermacchi M-311 Nice sleek looking trainer Edited January 14, 2014 by Winfield_Gold
Gloom Demon Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 It would depend on the mission design - obviously flying ASW for 8 hours on a Nimrod or a Poseidon would be boring. But if the submarines are tasked to get to a certain point to attack a convoy or launch cruise missiles and there you are - laying sonar buoys to intercept them - that would be fun. Of course the mission should have a time limit. Any way - who would have known, that ferrying troops in a chopper is fun? ;-) AMD Ryzen 3600, Biostar Racing B850GT3, AMD Rx 580 8Gb, 16384 DDR4 2900, Hitachi 7K3000 2Tb, Samsung SM961 256Gb SSD, Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X, Samsung S24F350 24'
siipperi Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 F/A 18C Sorry I couldn't resist. :megalol: Fully modeled F35B but as known can't be done at the moment and even lower fidelity failed.
Dr. Yes Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Ka-50N with R-73 and Igla missile capabilities.
b00ce Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 UH-60A/L/M with DAP capability. The Mike wouldn't need any modification, but I don't know how feasible it is to get the DTS, MFDs and FMS working on it due to OPSEC crap.
