investigating CTD after commanding George to engage FCR target

Try to make your own mission and test it that way. In my experience, a lot of problems stem from missions being bugged themselves. -
JTF - 111 - Recruiting F16, F18, and Helicopter pilots
Richstall replied to Richstall's topic in Squadron Recruiting
Looking for 16, 18 and Heli Pilots! -
I agree, seeing these massive ships just pop-in at very short distance (looks to be around no more than 3km) looks just awful. Persian Gulf map has this set extremely well so Syrian map really needs this changed to match PG map. Otherwise Syrian map is great to me.

Thanks for the reply @Silverdevil. I have tried to open DCS.exe from inside the BIN folder (see first attached log) and the BIN-mt folder (2nd attached log) which ends up with the same results (blank launcher screen). I changed the name of the options.lua file located to options-old27Jul25.lua located in the following path Savedgames>DCS.openbeta>config>Options.lua and ran the DCS.exe files in both BIN & BIN-mt folders and noticed a new options.lua file hasn't been created in the savedgames>>config folder. how do I check to ensure I have the recent visual c++ 14.44.35211 installed? and if I don't what are the steps to install it? ** Edit: confirmed latest visual c++ installed, see screen shot** Thanks again for the help. dcs.log dcs.log

List of paid aircraft modules that support visible Pilot Body for VR users
TORC replied to TORC's topic in Virtual Reality
OK, full update of the list is done! Thanks for your patience and help, everyone Notable changes: I've broken out the Flaming Cliffs modules (and the Su-25T, which shares their lack of cockpit-clickability) into a separate table in the document. It was too confusing to have the high fidelity module and the low fidelity module right next to each other in the same table, and made the "Jet Fighters and Trainers" table a bit too big. I also feel that people who are in the market for a Flaming Cliffs module aren't the same audience as those who are in the market for a full fidelity module, so hopefully this makes sense to everyone. The F4U-1D Corsair is added to the list, I guess they disabled the torso movement with the latest patch until they can fix it, as I didn't observe it (the torso moves a bit with control manipulation now, but not when you look to the left or right). As per the color coding guide this puts the module in the "[GREEN]" category. The F-5E Flaming Cliffs module uses the old F-5E/FA-18 pilot model, which is a bit disappointing. I was expecting it to use the new F-5E Remastered pilot model with the updated torso movement and larger kneeboard. I'm not sure when this happened, but the pilot model in the Christen Eagle now has a bit of torso movement when looking around. The movement is reasonable - I'd guess you're strapped in pretty tight in an aerobatics aircraft - but unfortunately the hands aren't rigged perfectly to the controls so the throttle comes through the left hand when looking about. This puts the module in the "[GOLD]" category, and I've updated the list to reflect this. I will update the first post later this week, I'm toying with the idea of trying to include the tables in the post in some form but I'll need to see how well / if the forum software supports that. Thanks again to everyone who has contributed and pushed me to keep this going!- 50 replies

Sky/Clouds/Scenery overexposed around the sun
Starfall116 replied to broderbund67's topic in Weather System Bugs & Problems
I am still experiencing this issue with the Pimax Crystal Light. I have a note into Tech Support, but no matter what direction I look it seems a good 20% or more of the sky is washed out and totally washes out my HUD on the Viper. It makes it extremely hard to drop bombs. This is definitely not the sun effect that is realistic, it's way too powerful for some reason. Hoping to get to the bottom of it! -
Useful Tips about f14 after touch down on runway
RustBelt replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I mean, until the ground to wheel physics is working correctly I see anything past touch down as just Role play not simulation. -
I'm always a bit nervous about doing anything with the firmware/software driving my WW devices. Logging into SimAppPro I go a message that an update was available, so I installed it. Now looking at my devices - 3 displays, TOP2, and UFC/HUD - they all show both the Current and Latest firmware versions as the same, but also with "Update" buttons available. I also get a warning message about other devices and USB connections. So I'm confused, do I still need to run the "update" or is my installed firmware up to date.

interpreting Think what they are interpreting as "smoke"... is actually condensed water vapor. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgLSfGyhzRc Not going to happen in the Persian Gulf, or the Marianas. Looks like, from what can tell from images, that the old "smoke" was pretty good. Like JP-5 jet exhaust. Bowie

And the Air Control Point ID and ACP /RIVER Waypointname and outer creating? I don't see it in the forum ACP List going also Blank
-
That is not the point. It cannot be that after such a long time the module does not have a proper manual, especially since supposedly only proofreading is required (since January 2024)...

took me months to figure this out as the problem. trying to place PP JDAM WP's only to load up jet TO and see my TGP sliding across the ground. Also you cannot fix this with "FIX" as it will always sync about 0.5nm away from real WP. probably a WIP issue with the DTC, hopefully get resolved sooner or later.

Question Maus... Any way to disable the HMD Helmet all together? Have some great HGU55 helmets for the half dozed F/A-18C squadrons running, and the maps are at present 2005-10, and 2017. Only use the AIM-9M as the latest version on the Legacy F/A-18C, and don't need the '2001 Space Odyssey' look. Please advise. Bowie

I’m afraid I can’t disclose the exact action taken, but it was directed towards the entire logistics team, rather than any single individual.

+1, it feels absolutely terrible on takeoff. It feels like im trying to peel the aircraft off the ground instead of flying it off the ground in dcs

As I wrote earlier with PC it is a regular mouse. And yes - it is a botton clicker. But a botton clicker with a mouse wheel! And this wheel can be pressed too! I have no experience with PointCTRL. My headset (HTC Vive Pro 2) does not support hand tracking. For hand tracking I use LeapMotion. I was planning to use D06 mouse with Fingers or HTCC programs. In my opinion HTCC is less convenient. The trackpad works. But it is inconvenient to use it in the cockpit. It is easier to move the pointer with a hand movement. It is also inconvenient to use it for navigating the program menu. Because if you are already distracted from the game, it is easier to use a regular mouse. I bought only one device but already ordered another one. I would like to have them on both hands. My experience with D06 mouse is only a few days. I tried it on several crafts (P-47, F/A-18, Mig-21, Mi-8). D06+Fingers proved to be better than just HTCC. Less false positives plus tactile sens. P.S. English is not my native language.

Thanks everyone, I will try your suggestions. Also @Despayre I went to the back seat because I thought it was the only way to find and zoom in on targets for bombing. (I need to read the manual again)

Community A-4E-C v2.3 (May 2025)
Bowie replied to plusnine's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Well... Have found Two(2) quotes from actual A-4C/E Combat Jocks. Both said that the aircraft is very maneuverable, and fun to fly - but either impossible, of for not very long, to trim hands off. Has analog mechanical controls and a 720°/sec. roll rate. No free lunch in Physics. On that note: Great Job A-4E-C Community on the Flight Model! Bowie -
Iceman AI will trim pitch up/down all the way when active pause. This is caused by how active pause works. Active pause will preserve momentum applied to plane. So the Iceman AI (Not true AI, just autopilot interface honestly) will keep trim to counter this momentum. What you have to do is de-active pause in RIO seat first, let iceman trim to normal position, and then hop into pilot seat.

Why do I need the "Switch side" command on a Tape Player?
ASW replied to ASW's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I'm 51 years old and I had a walkman.) It was only now that I realized what they had done, just like in real life. We need to listen to the rest or rewind the tape to the end.))) I liked this music. Song1.7z Song2.7z Song3.7z -
