Since the update, I can't move past the loading screen
H60MTI replied to Hikaruncat's topic in Game Crash
I have the same thing going on right now. I get the main screen with log in and the MIG-29 ad playing. I click launch. Get the NVIDIA screen, the small DCS screen then nothing. I've tried a slow repair, fast repair, and renamed the mission editor files. Still nothing... -
Thanks for pointing this out. I will certainly remove this default behavior it's useless.

Most Efficient BVR climb and Highest performance Speeds
Bremspropeller replied to AeriaGloria's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Having a low fuel fraction is not a skill issue. It's a design choice, limiting the aircraft's tactical capabilities to an unneccessarily narrow design-mission. That's just a fact no amount of coping can overcome. -

Are you sure the aerodrome has PRMG (ILS)? Some have RSBN but no PRMG. -

Quick question @NineLine, that is not a MiG-29 specific setting, right? Will it affect all the other Migs? The Mi-8 and 24? The Mirage and Gazelle? The Bf and FW? -
Just tried a slow repair and still nothing...

I´m sorry for the question but did you check in Ovgme if the Configuration folder and mods folder paths are correct and pointing to the correct folders?

MiG-29 - The good, the bad, and the ugly
Bremspropeller replied to av8orDave's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Looks like Damgarten, Köthen and Finow also only recieved Fulcrums in '89. That would leave Wittstock, Merseburg and Falkenberg as the premier "mid 80s" Fulcrum airfields. -
My fault. Dont know why i've thought that. On my end the radio works, im using Right Alt + Conms Key to use the correct radio.

Very educated opinion based on demonstrated deductive reasoning and advanced mathematical ability to divide fuel by the amount of engines a plane has. I'm glad we got that out of the way. MiG-29 is among one of the most popular aircraft in the history, and that, for a reason. Good luck trying to disprove it's capabilities, especially with that thought process. Sounds to me like you've been flying too much quake and forgot that there is a wide margin between idle and full afterburner. If you are dialing up the realism to a maximum, then stick with the missions that the aircraft was designed for, and have a proper flight plan with dedicated attack points before lifting off. If you aren't attempting at making it a CAS platform, then you'll likely find out that you need to, upon retunring back to the aerodrome, do a loop or two in full AB just to get rid of excess fuel before landing. Beyond that, it's a skill issue! -
MiG-29 - The good, the bad, and the ugly
Bremspropeller replied to av8orDave's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Most european F-16s would have been A models, apart from some USAFE early C models in the mid to mid-late 80s (say 84 to 88 timeframe). Modernisation ramped up slowly on both sides and WarPac (non GSSD) 29s only came online in 88/89, so just shortly before the Iron Curtain fell. GSSD 29s also slowly replaced 23s and 25s, right up 'till 89 (Zerbst getting 29s in '88, Altenburg recieving Fulcrums in mid'89). -

I've got AB9 too and tried multiple way with no sucess, Last i tried HIP's solution and it works ! But i wasn't satisfy with the default Frogfoot profile. I searched what's wrong with my profile and compared to default Frogfoot profile, The difference i saw is in spécial tab > trim in direct input mode, Now, it work great for me. -
I had the same issue until I realised I had bound the MCDU MENU key; this key shuts down the bridging app.

Bremspropeller replied to AeriaGloria's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
The jet has no range. "Going high" will stretch any jet's range by a good margin. The Mirage F1 has about similar internal fuel to the MiG-29 and will outrange it without effort. No worries there, as it splits that fuel by half the number of engines. Being 150 miles from base at low altitude is a non-issue with the F1. With the 29, you better get your butt up to high altitude for the cruise part, or diverting because of weather can be an issue. Now, if you're doing severe-clear warthunder stuff, that won't bother you, as you won't divert ever. If you're dialling up the realism a bit, then factors beyond turning every kilogram of fuel in your tank into noise will start playing a role. -
Just updated to the latest version this morning and now it won't even load. I get the main home screen with the MIG-29 on it. Hit launch. I get the NVIDIA splash screen and the DCS splash screen and then nothing. The LOG stops at ASYNCNET request for dcs logout failed. No clue what that means. I attached it down below...Any insight would be great. Thanks! dcs.log

Three decades later we still speak about alleged MiG-28? -
