  3. Welcome to the tournaments of BACK 2 BFM series! All the information on the event is in this news ARTICLE
  4. Hi, Concerning the AI, It would be quite interesting that's they were able to perform simple BVR tactics like SKATE, SHORT SKATE and BANZAI with good use of CRANK, NOTCH and PUMP ou ABORT maneuvers. Maybe the tactics could be selectable using advanced option of waypoint or triggers?
  5. I’d like to echo the OP and also offer the solution of a game option to save both a track replay in its current state for debugging, as well as a positionally based track system. Tackview is able to do this and generally speaking we get very good files with that. I have backed away from content creation, mostly because of the time sink of dealing with broken track files. The amount of time I spend in DCS, filming - setting up shots, flying them, hoping the track file is good, and then repeating the process several times, means I usually spend over an hour of work for every minute of footage. It’s not only unsustainable, but also a terribly ROI of my already limited time. While I love content creation, I also want to be able to play the game as well. The other day, I found myself looking for DCS videos to watch on YouTube, just wanted to scratch the itch - but I couldn’t find a single thing I really wanted to watch. The number of active content creators is shrinking and the one’s still producing content so a lot of tutorials, because you can do it live and in first person. Getting access to a more reliable replay system and better camera controls (axis bindings for movement and zoom would be huge) would make content creation much easier. I miss making videos and haven’t lost my passion for it, but when I sit down to start something, my motivation is quickly lost when I fly an incapable sortie, only to see my airplane crash on takeoff in the replay. I’d love to work with ED on this, to give feedback and suggestions and am willing to sign whatever NDAs necessary, but of all the things on my personal wishlist for DCS, this is number one.
  6. I *have* noticed that turning emissions switch to the middle position will reduce how likely you are to get intercepted. Enemy radars are going to still see you, and based on mission scripting those radars can feed your position down the air-defense chain. -Ryan
  7. These are the log files from yesterday evening. http://www.lmu-dashboards.com/tracks.zip
  8. In Russian language, the letter J does not exist. It is common to combine дж (d+zh) to closely articulate an english sounding J. For example, Джон (John). Combining дж and speaking it as a single sound would very much sound like an English G, albeit slightly soft, hence your "bug". Though I would hardly call it a bug, just a difference in pronunciation. Suprised you didn't nitpick the voice actors lack of phonetically sounding out HUD as an abbreviation, but rather pronouncing it as a word....
  9. 1. If I manually enter the coordinates into the inertial system, there won't be a problem. 2. If you insert the cartridge in NAV mode, then close the Kneeboard, switch the mode to BER and dial 9099, everything works. (50%)
  10. I think deleting the launcher.lsqlite3 fixed the problem! Thanks so much! -Ryan
  11. Every year VIAF (Virtual International Air Festival) works on their own mod for virtual airshow in december, I have several of these mods, years after years since I flew in this event. At this moment the VIAF web site is under update. Tell me if you want some mods, I'll share them, PM is better Edit: Grinnelli mod works fine here
  12. Первый раз вижу такой, если это конечно не фотошоп
  13. DCS appears to freeze. I dont believe the HMD is disconnecting @Calvin.Pimax Thanks!
  14. Thanks, didn't know that was a thing before this update, i never had it ocurring before, and now I get that crash very frequently, good to know its mapped already thx for the info, any work arounds possible besides not using the DTC?
  15. pretty much spot on.
  16. Good point.
  17. F-14 has both RWR and radar on very high level. F-15E has both AA and AG radar on very high level. Idk how realistic its RWR is. Bluefor weapons are constantly improved but most of them are already at high modeling level, esp. 3D models, fuzes, guidance and FMs. They work on the better blast damage and fragmentation. Incendiary is also in plans.
  18. Ooooh! Holy hanna! Hey, thank you for posting this. I have not come across this variant before.
  19. Silver Dragon summed up perfectly, imo. First, as a product, it must be commercially viable. A sim with an independent developer cannot have the luxury of bleeding money through projects like Disney does, for example. Iraq Map, although a massive map in project, already faces critiques of not including X and Y areas nearby. Understandably so for the most part. I cannot see the community happy with a map like this without covering the whole Britain Island -> and then: "why not Ireland too?" -> and then: "it should have at least northern France for the Channel to be tactically useful, tho...". etc... I have no doubt this region is very rich for flight sims and it would produce a hell of a map to fly on. Mandatory: Man, I wish we had the world map.
  20. No, TAA is like worse version of DLAA and no machine learning is involved. Yes. I choose DLAA - dots visibility is not that much of a problem for me but I can't stand the shimmering of MSAA, or the fences and other jaggies. Don't even try none-AA - serious eyes injury risk - and you'll also want that performance with AA then. The ASW crap is the worst, not related to AA though.
  21. Hello again, How should I do that so they don't come out at all throughout the mission? I really hate those white scratches on the sky and spend a good part of the week looking how to get rid of them! Thank you!
  22. This was originally mentioned in this thread, but I believe it's a bug: Original observations: I've experimented with the drop tanks during the last few days and they are definitely a bit peculiar. I've written a script to see the fuel level in messages regularly (only overall, but better than nothing) to see whether the fuel somehow disappears or what. I always burn a bit of left-wing tank to get around 75 mark and it never gets to F, so I hope there is no problem on this front. The mission is my custom free flight and the stories vary: I've flown ~angels 20 on the left drop tank, I switched to the right tank drop tank and lost fuel pressure within seconds, although there was no chance I spent the whole fuel. Repeated on at least two flights, no idea what was wrong. (I have no info on the fuel level for these cases, it was before I added the script.) I've active-paused the plane after the mission start at angels 6, fuel 157% (100% is for full internal fuel), went over all the tanks, starting with a bit from the wing left, then the combats one after another... fuel pressure dropped when expected based on the fuel %, I switched through all of them and went all the way to 0. The plane "flew" for over 5 hours, no problem. (I used time accel of course.) I went over Caucasus again, ~angels 30, used the both left and right drop tank just a bit, then switched to the right drop tank for good when I was ~140% of fuel. The missing 17% went a bit from the left wing and both combat tanks. Neither of the combat tanks could have been empty by this time, it's mathematically impossible. The fuel reported going down all the way to 92%... it worked like there was some kind of interconnect between the drop tanks, because the moment the fuel pressure dropped, I switched to the left combat tank - and it was empty too! I have no explanation for this behavior, the only normal case seemed the experiment in active pause. I don't know how altitude is involved in all this, reportedly the altitude can make the engine management harder, but I guess you want to use drop tanks first even when you escort bombers in high altitude - and you probably want to fly high to fly further, but I'm not an expert on this. Later test with track and fuel message each 10s: I've made another test, this time at higher altitude, although I'm not sure how important that is. First I went for active-pause test and accelerated time, no problems at all, switching went exactly as expected. Start at 157% of fuel, switch to left combat tank at 152%, then - as calculated and expected - fuel pressure dropped around 123%, so I switched to R combat tank, and then around 95% (first 5% went from the left wing tank) I switched to internal tanks. No problem. Second time I decided to fly actually fly it and also switch more often from tank to tank, but make notes what happens when. To my surprise, things went wrong quickly... again, around 152% I went for L combat tank, then around 143% I switched to R combat tank. I lost a plane for a moment, but I don't believe the maneuvers were that excessive, but... suddenly I lost 50 gals in 10 seconds: There is nothing in the Score window, I wasn't sure about some malfunction... I made and checked the track again, whether I'd see anything in those moments... nothing obvious in an external view. But 50 gals were lost. Strangely, from the gauges it seemed like some internal fuel was lost as well. So, naturally, I suspected the maneuvers. I restarted the mission and tried pretty crazy things... but I couldn't replicate it. Track file is attached. p51d-lost-fueltrk.trk

  23. Today
  24. Yeah, the problem with these things often is that at first one doesn't know whether it's a bug or not. Me, for instance, could not clearly see what and when is what happening and it took literally hours to somewhat replicate it, not to mention writing some internal fuel script output that I wouldn't have written otherwise. I'll try to repost under bugs although my faith is not strong. But without a bug report it's even weaker, of course. I'm on it. Edit - here it is:
