I'll try clearing the shaders again, but I've already done that a couple times now, and it's definitely not just taking a long time to load but is crashing out entirely (as shown by the Windows Event Logs).

Thanks @Calvin.Pimax Updated to 1.41.1 but broke the mbuccia's QV https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated/wiki on my machine. DCS would just hang at the first screen. Reverted to 1.40.4 seemed to fix the issue.

Don't worry about that. There are forces at work that will never allow that to happen. We've come too far -
How to perform overhead break pattern in a crosswind?

I have nothing to add to Bremspropellers explantion. If you really want to delve into the matter try this read: https://www.faa.gov/sites/faa.gov/files/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/airplane_handbook/08_afh_ch7.pdf -

In the 1950's I was an Air Training Corps Cadet based near Edinburtgh in Scotland. For my final summer camp we were taken to RAF Oakington near Cambridge, which was one of the RAF Training Units flying the two seat Vampires. We were allowed to stand near the aircraft but no touching !!! (as if !!) and we were told we might get to fly in a Vampire during our weeks stay in the camp - as long as we did no damage etc etc !!. None of us got anywher near a flying Vampire of course, we were a rough bunch of country yokels with no couth or style - so the night before we left we trashed the barrack block we were in. I think I know why I ended up rough old soldier with an interest in flying things !! (well, rough old Royal Marine - same sort of thing !!) Really looking forward to this mate - WELL DONE.

Maybe ED’s login servers have gone down again? Has happened a few times before.

I respect their giga-brained sale strat XD Like to add another reason to entice the customers to buy the C-130J Playing 4D chess indeed
-
Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere, but how many crewmembers can occupy each C-130 and which positions? TIA!
-
Yes m, but stritcly for tracking there are 2 variants, and they can be hood-ed thus giving them rather unique appearance.
-
So, no choice. Let's buy the C-130J :). A lot ...

How to perform overhead break pattern in a crosswind?
Supernova-III replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
@Bremspropeller oh, that definitely makes sense! I had something like this in my mind, but have no idea, how to get that feel of how much should I pull/roll to correct my position depending on the where it blows and how strong it is. -
Another good super 3d model. It looks really good. Everyone knows the free mod from this team and what you could already do there. But will this module now help or improve the gameplay? I don't think so - can you fly as a Tanker for the Eurofighter? ok . i read all "AFSOC, brings aerial refueling capabilities, including player-to-player AAR in multiplayer"

You have missed global earthquake, alien invasion, asteroid hitting the earth and a zombie invasion. I will fly the Harrier as much as possible, you never know. I hope a thermonuclear war doesnt stop me to fly the Fulcrum in September. -
Uh...right.

How to perform overhead break pattern in a crosswind?
Bremspropeller replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Picture this: - you're flying a left-hand pattern, runway has a 10 knot crosswind component from the left - during your 180° break turn, this wind will start as a crosswind (from the left), becoming a headwind with max intensity 90° into the turn, becoming a crosswind from the right on downwind - your base turn will be the opposite of the break: crosswind from the right, becoming a tailwind, becoming a crosswind from the left, when rolling out on final Here you'll be facing multiple challenges: Correcting the crosswind before the break. Modulationg the break pull (less pull) for correct spacing in downwind. Correcting the (now opposite) crosswind during the downwind part. Correcting for the tailwind during the base turn (steeper angle of bank). If you pull normally through the break (with headwind at the 90° point), you'll end up way too close to the field, making the base turn harder to achieve - especially when the same wind will try to push you accross the centerline, as it's becoming a tailwind through the 90° point during the base turn. If the wind blows opposite (crosswind on the runway coming from the right), you'll have to pull tighter during the break for correct downwind-spacing, but you can ease up your base turn, as you'll now have a headwind, which will less likely blow you through the centerline. Makes sense? -
While it offers an interesting perspective, I'm fairly sure that good business planning generally assumes that the market to compete in remains to be alive tomorrow.

Tried to open DCS for the first time in a couple weeks and ran into this: "Failed to get authorization data. Error code is: 504 - No saved authorization found." So it loaded the game without any of my paid content. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx.

You got your forums here at last. Well done! And quite the bombshell to announce the module isn't far away. Congratulations! I can perfectly understand being a bit wary about buying DCS modules right now, really. But it'd be a lie to say I wasn't interested in the C-130. Exciting news indeed.

You mean we are still waiting to hear if zambrano has fulfilled his obligations under the agreement. Remember the problem was caused by him in the first place. However, ED has stated the agreement is confidential and you don't quite grasp the concept of what confidential mean.

i tried today again. this time, though it took a hot minute to open, it did finally open. no changes to my computer other than restarting daily. i leave it off during the days i am at work. @BIGNEWY is onto something about the delay with shaders. i believe clearing those folders improves the performance. -
I've got my Steam wallet loaded up for this. Just have to wait now. Probably going to be a Top 3 module for me right away. I spend a lot of time in DCS just flying for fun, and this will take it to the next level. I pop into the civy sim sometimes, spend ten-minutes, be unamused, and then get right back into DCS just to fly around and enjoy the planes. With the C-130 the deal is sealed. One sim fits all.
