  1. Past hour
  2. I'll throw my vote in for this one. The KC-10 has always been one of my favorites. I'll honestly take any other refueling aircraft they want.
  3. Looking at the "Cold War Germany" map from Ugra Media in the DCS simulator, I thought that during the Soviet era there were some kind of landfills. I went to Google and it immediately gave me the Magdeburg training ground. There were no coordinates, but there were memoirs of those who served there, indicating nearby villages. Thanks to this, I quickly found the polygon on the map and it turned out that it is implemented in DCS. Using the DCS editor, I created a small training mission for the Mi-24 helicopter. The mission was originally planned for the Mig-21, but new ideas emerged during the creation process. I will add the mission for the Mig-21 tomorrow. There were new ideas and problems with free video processing. The program allows you to make a video for free for no more than one minute. You have to make pieces and then connect them online, and it takes a very long time. Actually, this is the first time I've done such a video in my life.) If you like the mission, write your ideas and suggestions for improving the mission. Initially, there is no one at the training ground. You activate what you want via the F-10 radio menu. I recommend activating Blue Platoon, Red Platoon and waiting for the battle to develop. The enemies will be distracted and it will be easier to attack them. You will get a picture of the fight, just like in the movies. There are 4 more Leopards in ambush. You can activate them at any time using the F-10 Leopard start. You can activate, for example, only trucks (Truck start). I even flew to this training ground on the I-16 and I really liked it. There are Mig-21s on your left. They can be activated via the radio menu at any time and they will fly to the training ground to help you. There are 2 JTACs working on the training ground, they will help you by marking targets with white smoke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaL1-oaz58g Magdeburg Training Ground Mi-24P REL_.7z
  4. Thanks. But it is not possible to move cursos in MT mode. I pickle JDAMs as cursor is slewed to targets. Yes, that is official information. But area track seems more precise than using MT mode. So far what we tested in my flight is that MT mode is least precise. I think JDAMs go off even a bit more than 5 meters. Maybe that is the case in real life ?
  5. In fact, a lot of things has been upgraded, but there arre still some issues with ILS on several airfields and airports. I'm trying to make correction on the lua file. Unfortunately, I have no acces to RSBN using aircrafts at this time. If you want to share your corrections, so I can merge them to my file and share it on the user files. So We could make the best optimised beacons.lua file for both sides of Germany. Despite the fact that the devs didn't give any news about the navaids, a lot of reported bugs had been taken in account. You can take o look here about Frankfurt ILS issues And here my request about ILS issues. Of course RSBN issues and corrections are welcome.
  6. Yeah, falling in love with cockpits in VR became my adiction. I bought modules, that I might have avoided in 2D, because of that, with no regrets though. So I go with @Killg0re NL...
  7. Some additional perspective relating specifically to the Hellcat - this is the article I referenced above. https://rldunn.com/grumman-hellcat/ Essentially corroborates what Claringbould puts forth in his recent work.
  8. He forgot the /j
  9. Indeed, if it was just a matter of de/re-soldering a few chips (still not an easy diy job), I'd understand the point But having to use totally different PCB to get things to work is on a whole other level It's like turning a sedan in a pickup truck, you can't simply shove 33" wheels under your Honda Civic
  10. This subject surfaces from time to time as sure as auto/easy AAR. I can see where OP is coming from, with valid points. Personally disk space is not an issue for me. Compared to the 20TB of baby/children videos of my daughter, it's nothing. [emoji6] Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  11. Just stop using and forget about it. It's a relic from FC level planes, and only works with those unless you have enabled easy comms. Learn the radios in the modules. It's fun and gives you a better understanding of how everything works. Cheers!
  12. Oh I'm pretty sure you'll get your money's worth out of it, my friend. And I'm very certain I will.
  13. This had not been fixed 3 years ago. Engine oil, HYD Failures, and AMAD Oil had no effect on hornet. If you check Failures, since this topic is locked out, it has not been fixed See the Track and Screenshot F18 HYD AMAD oil and Engine oil had effect on Hornet.miz
  14. Initial release IIRC, it would be very strange if they kept it SP only. Can't remember I ever read that. Cheers!
  15. Oh my, ur lost now
  16. Yes. It's now an neverending journey. There is no going back. Be prepared for a steep learning curve in optimisation though. Luckily there is lots of support on this forum.
  17. Today
  18. Yep, my design was as close to a paper approach as I could get while still being usable in VR - so although it has the slide rule, it will do the basic calcs for you as well. But no gps, everything is manual, POI, sam locations, the lot. Fixes are placed by double tapping where you think you are - so if you don't plan well with good landmarks its easy to misjudge and get lost. I've found I can comfortably get TOT within +/- 10 seconds with this approach, with or without INS (though INS more useful higher you get/more cloud cover/night - blue ticks are at 5nm (or 5km if in metric) from waypoint so you can glance down and see where you should be up to compared to INS distance to go, and purple ticks are minutes to go as planned. I was improving fix logging and got this flight through South Atlantic in a gazelle with its tablet disabled and no INS that was cool image.pngimage.png
  19. LOL... Welcome to the darkside! We have cookies... And unlimited settings tweaking sessions!
  20. Good to know. Thank you for clarifying. And thank you for the work!
  21. Hi all! I have been playing DCS for 5 years on a 2D-monitor. Today I bought the Quest 3S, jumped into DCS and was completely blown away! DCS is a completely DIFFERENT game in VR, not only that you are suddenly sitting inside the cockpit, all the proportions is completely different! I have never liked or enjoyed the A-10C, but now I am IN LOVE with the A-10! This bird is HUGE in VR and the cockpit is sooo beautiful! I also jumped into the P-47 and ohh man, let me tell you, if you enjoy warbirds, you are teleported back 50 years inside the real P-47 and it looks NOTHING like on a 2D monitor! The thing is I am running a pretty crappy home computer, RTX 3080, 32 GB Ram, I5 and the most simple VR-headset a Quest 3S for 300 dollars, I am getting a solid 40-60 FPS in singleplayer even on Normandy map. This is the best spent 300 dollars in my entire life, I am NEVER going to play DCS without a VR-headset again, just doing some simple flying is 10x more fun then before
  22. Excuse me...but I will stay with the Mustang. This bird can't stay with an Anton anymore, and if you push it...it just turns to deadstick. This bird has ruined my dreams about the Corsair...Sorry Pappy!
  23. The truth is that Wags has an assistant who moves the mouse very slowly and smoothly.
  24. My only objection to this thread is calling this content "bloatware". Poor choice of words.. Now, as for making the handful of GBs of content optional (10-15Gb if I read the OP correctly)... Is it really worth the dev time and gained complexity for such a small gain? Because, I can see the complains already for the additional bugs in the installer and because the dev are dedicating time to this and not "that" feature or the "other"... null
  25. What I meant was that I could get rid of more stuff but didn't spend more time to do it - making my point for the thread topic I guess.
  26. You can check your saved games/tracks folder to see if it auto saved. Otherwise, you’ll have to re-fly it. Also, there are already a few threads with this same topic. You just created another one. One of them has been open for a while and has lots of discussion. I’m betting your issue is something already experienced, discussed, and resolved. Have a look in the other threads as well. You didn’t mention opening your oil flaps, so you may have cooked the engine. That’s all I can offer at the moment based on the info you gave above.
  27. Odd that the LS-6-250 and the LS-6-500 bombs have the same drag.
