  2. Try these two files, which are from version 553 (back up the old files, just in case ^^, I can't test this version) MAIN_NextMission.lua DC_Weather.lua
  3. get that with some missions once in a while, and usually find it to be trains. If i delete the trains in the mission they load fine.
  4. SA-5 is Cold War yes, but If I remember correctly the version in DCS is the updated Syrian version that is still used today. Same with the SA-2.
  5. I checked it again and I didnt have an additional deadzone in the axis control mapper but only the deadzone in the special options. So all axis in the controls are linear and 0 deadzone. I will edit my post above.
  6. hey i resemble that remark friend LOL. what is wrong with potato pics?
  7. RCtrl+RShift+ the zoom keys on the keyboard and you'll be able to shift your view forwards or aft. RAlt+Num0 to save the view.
  8. Hi ED, I like the quality of this module very much but I think the cockpit view is too close the instrument panel and the stick. It would be great if you can change this so the pilot sits a little more back in the seat.
  9. hello, attach your latest DCS.LOG from \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs OR \Saved Games\DCS\Logs there are probably some clues.
  10. Given that those microswitches are right in the middle of the pedals, heading mode should probably just be disengaged everytime the pedals are moved and reengaged when stopped. Though for that to be realistic I think you would need to remove the centering springs from the pedals.
  11. That was the theory. In practice, it appears the effect was not noticeable in the cockpit. Remember, aerodynamic simulations like we're used to were simply not a thing when the Tomcat was designed, and they ran their calculations on mainframes less powerful than a today's smartwatch. The engineers clearly thought that they needed those vanes, but it turns out supersonic turns work just fine without them, and there's not much difference either way. In that era, there was no way of testing such concepts other than building the thing and flying it.
  12. I have to agree with it that I won't pay too much attention on the pilot/RIO bodies while I am in the cockpit. But, I have to agree that HB does make F-4 as a masterpiece in overall, and I guess that HB seems to use the same works in F-4 back to F-14. Jester 2.0 is an example. I will add the concern of the pilot/RIO bodies into the wishlist section since it is a wishlist. - [ADDED]F-4E pilot/WSO body implementations in F-14x {https://forum.dcs.world/topic/349953-f-14-ab-feature-follow-up-wish-list-and-beyond/page/15/#findComment-5703874}
  13. Most were already done for LOMAC and first 2 aircraft for DCS where they fit very well for modern warfare. But I remember DCS adding in recent years units like KS-19, SON-9 or SA-5 - very much cold war assets.
  14. Good point. Would be good to have a global override. Probably asking a bit much to expect every campaign creator to update every mission in all of their campaigns. Maybe ED can suggest s simple mod/file/config change that we could apply globally?
  15. Then I have no idea
  16. Delta H is in metres hardwired as far as I am aware. In my notes I have converted to feet for the calcs. also another calc if down in the weeds and want the bottom of the beam on the horizon (i.e. at ground level) you need 5 deg ant elev you can get that 5 deg by: TDC 24nm Delta H +4 TDC 37nm Delta H +6
  17. I guess so, but that's beyond my ME and these items IDs knowledge. Given there is a random system failures, the values of: meantime between failures, probability for each failure point/item in the plane...etc.. are all hidden. It should be displayed and changeable from the options menu or some sort of "Hangar" sub menu like the "Special Tab" we have. The sim from Laminar has the best system and it is natively implemented.
  18. If your comfortable editing your Input.lua file you can add these lines to get the rocket box button binds. {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_SwitchCover, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 1.0, name = _('Rocket Box Switch Cover OPEN'), category = _('Weapons')}, {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_SwitchCover, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 0.0, name = _('Rocket Box Switch Cover CLOSED'), category = _('Weapons')}, {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_Switch, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 1.0, name = _('Rocket Box On'), category = _('Weapons')}, {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_Switch, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 0.0, name = _('Rocket Box Off'), category = _('Weapons')}, {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_ArmSafe, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 1.0, name = _('Rocket Box Arm'), category = _('Weapons')}, {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_ArmSafe, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 0.0, name = _('Rocket Box Safe'), category = _('Weapons')}, {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_SingleAuto, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 1.0, name = _('Rocket Box Auto'), category = _('Weapons')}, {down = device_commands.RocketsBox_SingleAuto, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON, value_down = 0.0, name = _('Rocket Box Single'), category = _('Weapons')},
  19. I use mainly PaintNet and sometimes GIMP.
  20. If you look at the non-WWII assets they are mostly 1990's upgrades to older systems. From what I have seen all newly added free assets are modern or have some form of modernization. From an economical standpoint it also makes sense, since more modern assets also can be used in the commercial "non DCS" markets. I would love to see some Cold War assets. But I think they will come in the form of paid asset pack or perhaps by Current Hill.
  21. Hi community, occasionelly after starting DCS no sound is available. Connecting sound by the DCS-sound-settings is not possible. After closing DCS and restarting in the same Windows-session, sound works properly. What´s the reason? Had this with no other flightsim especially IL2 any time in the past. Sound driver works perfect!
  22. Really enjoyed ¡¡¡ Very nice transitions CLOSE-FAR SLOW-FAST, also is very cool the color filters all around. Best part the incockpit scenes on the Phantom, nice angles. And very good choice with all by myself version Good work
  23. Today
  24. That was exactly my intention. Do not waste $$$ on a clutch/friction based "AddOn", focus on the extension, as it is a big help to get a more "real" feel. Save for FFB, if the goal is a more realistic control, that's close to how a real helicopter with hydraulics "feel". I am sure one can even use a voice commanded Raspberry Pi to "perfectly fly a helicopter in DCS", with some training, but the idea in general is to "closely simulate" the controls, in a simulation. While a centering spring in a simulated jet aircraft is "ok", in a helicopter it's not even remotely, what pilots in real helicopters have, apart from the look, maybe. On the other hand, you can if course start with a normal stick and DCS trimmer modes and learn to proficiently fly a helo in DCS. An FFB base for the cyclic doesn't magically make you a trained helicopter pilot, but coming all the way from a Logitech 3D extreme, through X-52, Warthog, Virpil stuff to the Rhino, in my opinion, if you intend to focus on helicopters in DCS and stick to the hobby it is well worth to save for a FFB base and skip a couple controller iterations in-between.
  25. I can agree that effect was negligible and not worth the maintenance but it's purpose was also for the unusual parts of envelope like supersonic turn and cruise with better AoA and less drag on stabilators.
  26. The one thing that really changed my mind in favor of pilot bodies (even more so in VR) is the working kneeboard we got with the Viper/ Hornet pilot bodies. This has been a huge immersion boost. I hope we'll get this feature with Heatblur pilot bodies as well, and the sooner, the better.
  27. Since mirrors don’t look amazing most of times AND eat performance, I fly with them folded usually anyway.
