  1. Past hour
  2. At a guess, either, it's because it uses GLONASS (not using the US/West GPS) & that had periods post USSR where it didn't have global coverage, so maybe your mission is set then or your mission is earlier than GLONASS (there's an ABRIS page that tells you how many satellites are in view), or it's a bug ?
  3. The Japanese Sugar Cane Wagon is almost completed for Marianas WW2 . Very Course Normal map and a few sticks poking out simulates the Sugar Cane Load quiet well.
  4. So in the example of the last Seafire, 115, the aircraft number is 15? I wonder which bureaucrat in the Royal Navy made this system because splitting the aircraft number with the roundel (and only on one side of the fuselage) makes zero sense whatsoever. Zero logic. Zero consistency.
  5. Along with continuing discussions, we should see the familiar circular arguments. Additionally, we are likely to see this prolonged disagreement proceed at the pace of a standstill. Phew, now we can rest on our laurels.
  6. To be honest, I don't think I understood what you meant. Are you referring to like switched and knobs that we have in the cockpit but has no function? Like what was mentioned in the F-4E section, where a certain switch does not yet have keybinds, because it's function does not yet have any function in the module? Hence why I specifically mentioned encoders above, and how their behaviour is different compared to axis. Of course you can. Just use your favourite joystick to key mapper, or just use a hat. I personally use the bottom row on one of my TM MFDs for the ABRIS. Cheers all!
  7. +1 though note that CV-11 is currently the name used in the mission editor. Personally, I'd rather the ship depict a class, allowing for more task groups to be depicted. If it was intended to represent a class it should be renamed to "Essex". If it was intended to just depict the Intrepid, the "CV 11" name can be retained, but I'd personally change the name in the unit List to "CV 11 USS Intrepid" or "CV 11 Intrepid". EDIT: Sniped, though @-Rudel- will the F10 map name reflect a class in that case?
  8. When things settle down, I'll be implementing the ability to change deck numbers via the ME options.
  9. In 1998 they'd rather sell it as a new game in the software store and you'd have to buy a box of dozens of DVDs.
  10. I am using the Pimax Crystal Sim latest Pimax Play latest Nvidia Drivers on rtx 4090 I9 14900kf 64gb 4800 ram. Also use Pimax XR 0.4.4, Quad views 1.1.3 and quadviews companion. At 72 hz constant flickering across the centre of view within the headset at 90-120 hz no flickering at all. Checked cables and connections etc. I have just come back to DCS and didn't have this problem before. Has anyone else had this issue and is it just a Pimax software rollback? Thanks.
  11. Hi Raccoon. I have flown the 16 a lot in the past and would be good to get back into it properly. What is your mission preference?
  12. That's in the eye of the beholder, as with all shows, many seasons fall short of the first one. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

  14. HI and thank you for the help. Its all working fine now so forwards to oblivion !
  15. Hmmmm. I had a quick look at the miz that you kindly attached. Using Comms -> F10 Other->Kill does not kill anything You do not seem to be using DML to spawn the units. You are using RND to trigger a trigger rule that activates a late activation group. I recommend using a cloner for each, and trigger each of the cloners using RND. Although you can mix old-school trigger rules with DML, DML often has much better, easier tools ready for you to use.
  16. Don't put three numbers, just enter two numbers. There are only two slots to change. 137 is the full number in that color plate. And the photo below, 120. This Seafire would be 132 And this one: 115
  17. No need for any other Somnium software, just the VR1 Software itself, just ensure before you launch DCS, everything in the VR1 tool is setup as you wish. Have you installed the Beta 4 software and updated the firmware. ? Suggest you take some baby steps first to get used to things. Ensure openXR runtime is selected. You have the Visionary Edition so you do have ET that will allow you to use QuadViews and either FFR or DFR. The VR1 Resolution slider needs to be adjusted if you are going to take full advantage of ET. First try without ET and just set resolution slider to around 60% and see what framerate you are getting, need to try and match the freq of the headset so you're really looking to reach a stable 90 fps. Its important to dial setting down first and then slowly make an incremental step forward. If you have enabled QV in DCS you will need to alter the main resolution down to as low as 20% as you are probably running FFR set the Foveated settings 80 20 20 to start. Then try Eye Calibration to get DFR. There are a lot of things to adjust and understand to get the VR1 running at its best but that is the price we pay for such a cutting edge piece of hardware and something we all knew, but as the software has been enhanced the better the experience has become, you are joining us at a great time for DCS and VR, exciting times ahead.
  18. If you want to bind it to a button on a game controller, you need to make a very simple edit in the file "default.lua" under "disk location:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F4U-1D\Input\joystick" by copying a line from the "default.lua" under "disk location\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F4U-1D\Input\keyboard" and pasting it into the file under "...\joystick". Since most people don't want to get into that, I won't go into more detail now.
  19. Truthfully, some of the largest gains I got is from dynamic foveated rendering. If you're using a Pimax Crystal Light you're missing out on some pretty massive performance gains and have to settle for lower FPS due to the lack of DFR to be honest. It's what I found oxymoronic about the headset - yes it's much cheaper to get but to run it properly you need an extremely expensive GPU and for the likes of DCS it still struggles even with the best hardware
  20. Today
  21. Seems ok here logged in and out. but I will ask the team to check thanks
  22. That would be "scan zone up/down". This is the subforum for F-15C: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/249-f-15c-for-dcs-world/
  23. +1 I personally wish that if Ugra are going to be doing SAM sites based on a generic template, is to look at a real site in the region, recreate that and then copy and paste where appropriate. For instance: in this image of this SA-2 site near Wittstock, all revetments are visible. If Ugra were to just recreate this (though with the trees removed) and copy and paste it (maybe moving individual revetments as appropriate) for every SA-2 site. Then if they repeat that for each type (here's an SA-3 example, here's an SA-5 example, here's an SA-6 example, here's a HAWK example, here's a Nike-Hercules launch site example), that would be perfectly adequate. Of course, ideally we'd get as 1:1 as possible, but if Ugra were to simply recreate what's shown in these images, that would be fine. There SA-5 site already has fairly accurate objects, but it's incorrect and personally this is missing the forest for the trees - a less detailed accurate site with only essential positions > a highly detailed site that's inaccurate - right now the SA-5 sites also have another launch battalion that no SA-5 site in Germany had (they all have 2). And FWIW, SA-2 sites in the GDR were equipped with the Spoon Rest-D as a search radar and the SA-5 sites had a Tall King-C and an Odd Pair. Tin Shields in the GDR were only stationed at EWR sites (and Tin Shields IRL are generally used as EWR/GCI radars). The Flat Face-B was only present at SA-3 sites (though the Flat Face-A and Squat Eye could also be seen at some EWR sites).

  26. It's been modelled with AN/ALQ-165 (AFAIK accurate for USMC aircraft of the timeframe - USN aircraft should have AN/ALQ-126B for the timeframe). There's a rotary switch in front of the stick, simply place it to XMIT. The jammer will automatically start transmitting when a radar in a track/fire-control mode is detected and will automatic cease transmitting when a radar in a track/fire-control mode is no longer detected. See page 415-417 of the manual in Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Doc
