Thanks again. PCL arriving later today. I'm exited and aprehensive at the same time. Hoping it's all good.

Yeah Kiowa at $70 dollars with neither a trial nor discount is why I haven't got it. If I tried it and liked it I may spend that, or if there is a window to get it cheap I may buy it "blind". I'm sure the point of sales a discount pre orders is to create a sense of missing out so you kinda feel compelled to buy. Not so with the Kiowa. As a someone who doesn't like the gazelle (no judgements) Kiowa is too much at the moment.

I wouldn't trust GPT to run as the "brain" of my toaster. Really, all the techbro marketing bull. But to be a bit more constructive: there is no need for a huge datacenter to create decisions for the dynamic campaign in real-time, as interesting as it may sound. What DCS is needs is old-school AI, reasonably elaborate decision tree based on easily accessible data. And yes, that can account for what the various factions supposedly know or don't know quite easily.

AGM-45: No tone, no track. What is wrong?

Can you perhaps upload a short track showcasing your issue? -

I hope ED can give Reflected Extra Early Access to this asset pack so he can get to work developing his F4U Angels over Okinawa campaign. I also hope we can hear more about the Zero soon. It sounds like it is "planned" for the future, but perhaps no development work has begun yet, so it may be quite some time. In any case, can't wait to hear more about this. I also understand the F6F has been in development for quite some time, but never gotten a proper detailing in an official newsletter, so I very much look forward to hearing more on this one and hope to see something soon. Maybe a pre-order later this year?

I'm engaging an SA-3 in quick action, and mounted the correct seeker heads (37 & 49.1 in this case). Within range; DF REJ; pipper on SAM site; in a dive; all this and yet no tone. What am I doing wrong if it's on my end? The only time I could ever get a tone was with an SA-2 site and even then it didn't track.

In your game settings set the resolution as small as possible. It'll open the game on desktop in a small window, all you need for VR.
-
Thanks for the replies. How exactly would I do that. My monitor native res is 3840x2160. What would I set in DCS to help with steady tracking.

We should have a "remind me" feature like a certain something I will not mention. [emoji4] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

That's a very impressive list for PTO! The most comprehensive set of assets we've ever seen. Apart from the odd ship, we can make the majority of the various task group 58 formations with the all aircraft carriers, all aircraft, the dominant destroyer, light cruiser and heavy cruiser types. The main thing missing for the USN is the Atlanta CL which features in the screen of most task groups and for the IJN, perhaps more crucially - a 10-gunned IJN heavy cruiser like the Takao, Myōkō (or even the other Mogamis) as I fear the current Mogami is at somewhat of a disadvantage. The IJN though is more annoying to flesh out compared to the USN due to the increased number of classes. What's currently there is IMO workable*. The only thing I'm a little sorry to see the Iowa being dropped (though without the a suitable IJN battleship counterpart that's similarly armed, like a Nagato or even better the Yamato-class). The other things I'd like to ask: Will we see improvements to ship AI? Primarily when it comes to manoeuvring defensively (something pretty relevant in WWII naval guns) Will we see multiple ammunition types for dual-purpose guns? At the moment WWII-era naval guns only have a time-fused shell which is often ineffective against surface and land targets (and will especially be so against armoured ones like battleships and cruisers) - we ideally need a point-detonating shell and/or armour piercing shell and an AA shell with either a time fuse or (preferably) a proximity fuse (proximity fuses were introduced and in circulation among Allied warships by 1943 and proximity fuses are relevant to near enough every ship currently in-game with a naval gun with a calibre of 76 mm/3-inches and above). There's also bugs that currently absolutely cripple the ability of dual-purpose guns to effectively engage aircraft. Will we see improvements to ship damage modelling to at least account for armour? Though ideally we'd have internal components modelled and maybe some flooding and fire-propagation model.

Into the Jungle - Next Gen
ApacheAldo replied to Mistermann's topic in User Created Missions General
been experimenting last two days with vr settings. quest 3, 4090, 32g RAM on Windows 11. I am not sure if this is due to an IX514 issue, but this mission is unplayable currently with my setup. I can only average around 32 fps at startup in the oh6 from all locations. When I take contact and shoot missiles, frames freeze around 2-6 fps. I know I could have more ram, but should still be able to manage with what I have. I play online most days and get anywhere from 50-70fps with the same settings. I have tried lowering everything yet it still freezes when I take contact. -

Hind cpg atgm launching werid (maybe a bug)
hannibal replied to Ddg1500's topic in Bugs and Problems
Also if in multicrew, if u get wierd sight behavior, it could be desync issue, I would have to hop out and hop back in to the hind in multiplayer -
I also approve of this message. To add, in most of the new "terrains" the Hornet's map blank out after 10 miles scale or something.

Make sure NWS is turned on, (and that no modifier is blocking anything by accident). Cheers!
