New questions about processors: i5 14600K and 9900X

With the Intel chip you'll only get 20 PCie lanes versus 24 with the AMD chip. The number of PCie lanes in an important consideration, particularly with the video card you plan to use and any nVMe drives you plan. Depending on the motherboard and the configuration you chose, you could be in a situation where your video card is running at x8 vs x16 when coupled with nVMe drives. You're planning to spend money on a good video card so you don't want to box yourself into using half its capabilities at the very start (with the Intel chip.) An advantage to using the AMD chip is the motherboard socket. Intel boards change sockets every few years while AMD has stuck with the AM5 socket for a number of years and apparently has no plans to change it. What that boils down to is if you want to upgrade your CPU in a couple of years, you only need to buy the chip and not a whole system. -
Oh wth, I’ll break what I said before and reply to this. How much is bs? All of it. Two basic reasons: Anyone can post derisive descriptions of what companies do to maximize profits and call it “penny pinching”. One could describe Razbam’s history in DCS by saying they’ve cut more and more from the initial promises they made module-by-module until that has now culminated in them quitting a module halfway through, and I could claim that was what I’d expect from a dev with a long term plan to rip people off. I don’t think that’s what happened because I don’t think Zambrano thinks that far ahead, but it’s easy to tar a business with that brush. As for the claim that ED should just concede the IP claim since it’s such a small number: I’ve got a smaller number: ZERO. That’s what it would cost Razbam to allow ED access to the source codes so that they could maintain them. Customers get a little certainty and it doesn’t cost Zambrano a dime. People should be very clear on this when they apportion blame: The only reason these modules are in jeopardy is because Razbam has chosen to make it so.

I know, but it would look nice with that paint.

How much of that is BS? I'd go with 'all of it'.

To further expand on this. The superiority of the Hellcat and Corsair is largely myth. Victors get to write the history…all that. In reality the actual kill ratios / loss records between both the Corsair and Hellcat vs the Zero earlier in the war during 1943 where experienced Japanese pilots were still present in numbers ( vs cartoonish over-claiming if kills) indicates parity between the two types and the Zero. Japanese pilots didn’t get leave, R&R, nor rotated home at the end of a tour. They flew until odds caught up with them or they were so battle-fatigued that they had to be shipped home. Late war results where essentially only barely-qualified pilots were flying on the Japanese side essentially indicate nothing more than pilot disparity. Not to mention cartoonish over-claiming of kills. These results might indicate a certain amount of real world Hellcat pilots getting pulled into fight that they should have passed on, just as we know happens online. Turning vs diving away for example. Given faithful representation of both aircraft in DCS - one should do very well in the Zeke.

Go to the Hornet liverie of your choice, open the "description.lua" file and add this line, in the middle or something like that, but never add it at the very end or else it doesn´t work: {"Pilot_F18_FP_Map", 0, "mfd3", true};

Of course, but I'm sure checking the forum twice a week and responding isn't too much work (not like you ). Personally, I also think the ED forum should be prioritized for information, not chats like Discord, which, let's face it, are a dump when it comes to information.

It is "B" version, not "J".

Ok, bringing up this subject again. On my old PC the IR D F-16 mavericks is usable. Then I go on 3 weeks holiday, come back, and the a complete new, fresh install on a new PC. Now the D maverikc picture is so blurry that I can not make out what I am trying to target I have one PC monitor connected and one VR headset (Pimax Crystal Super). The problem is there when I am playing in 2D and also when playing in VR. In settings, Res of Cockpit displays is set to 1024 every frame. I have the same settings on this new PC as the old PC where I did not have this problem. Like I said, all I did was a fresh new install on a new PC. I have not installed any mods or done any strange settings on my new PC or in DCS.

G21pilot started following Visible pilot kneeboard blank in Hornet

I'm not sure what I've done but my hornet kneeboard (pilot body only) is blank. It works fine in the Viper with the same naming convention. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ну 6 часовые стримы из онлайна я видел. Правда там 3 часа только на взлет уходит, но это уже видимо индивидуальные особенности. Но в целом полет 30-40 мин. туда и 30-40 мин обратно - вполне норм с т.з. игрового режима.

Light attack aircraft for counter-insurgency mission
Daemoc replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS 2.9
The C-101 can carry a ludicrous amount of fuel internally. One of it's major design considerations was range. I think this is the most overlooked aspect of this aircraft. For a quick strike mission, 50% fuel is still way too much. IIRC, one of the first missions I did in the C-101 was over two hours and was done on 50% fuel. This was all low level. This cannot be stressed enough. Fuel has to be a major consideration on that aircraft every mission. Don't look at the percentages, calculate the fuel weight. -
Save yourself the headache and install SRS. DCS VOIP has been broken since release in one way or another. Has never worked properly for me. Amazing that SRS, created and maintained by a single individual, simply "works" and ED can't or won't fix theirs. Waste of ED dev talent as far as I'm concerned.

Fly the Corsair more like a modern fighter, keep the speed up and use the vertical.

Так большинство карт пролетаются полностью за 20-30 минут, еще и назад время есть.

Great ! I guess it's in Submod V1.0 ? 1st page is fine for me. -
Hi, I tried using the 32MB paging file, but unfortunately the DLL continues to crash. I'm attaching the new log file for your review, and in the meantime, I'll try other things in the hope of resolving the issue. Regards dcs.log
