  2. Plain and simple it doesn't work right. Certainly wasn't this way in "real life".. Basically there's always going to be some crosswind if not straight down a runway then blowing some cross ways from the parking spot on an airfield. If it was this bad in real life then the plane would not have been test flown from the start until it could taxi like any other plane.
  3. Heyo did some checking myself and seems to be related to the "category" field if this is incorrect or nil it will put it at 0 ASL your "Effects" is invalid -> "Effect" Still presume this is a bug and should not behave like this..... For extra joy you can use the attached file listing all Unit typenames and as the "key" there respective "category" for double checking Typenames from DCS : "2.9.19.13478" Hope this helps
  4. Hello, I have been making observations on the landing gear retraction/extension times as compared to the only reference I have that gives the actual transit time. This reference is NAVAIR 01-F14A-1, 1 JUNE 1972, Page 1-173 under NORMAL OPERATIONS. In this chapter it states that the "The normal transition time for operation of the landing gear is 9 seconds.". This reference in NAVAIR 01-F14AAA-1 (15 MAY 1995) and NAVAIR 01-F14AAP-1 (1 AUG 2001) has been removed and replaced with the following CAUTION: "Unless attempting fast-cycle troubleshooting for gear that indicates unsafe nosegear down, transition light illuminated, wait for gear to completely transition (15 seconds with normal hydraulic pressure) before recycling the landing gear handle. When fast-cycling the gear handle, the pilot must immediately return gear handle to down position to avoid damaging the main landing gear doors and inducing a possible combined hydraulic or brake system failure.". The actual timed retraction/extension as taken from the cockpit indications are 16 seconds in both the A and B. The external modelling is 19-20 seconds for extension and 16 seconds for retraction. I get the impression that the CAUTION statement has been taken as the actual transit time. Looking at several videos of Tomcat departures, the gear is definitely retracted within the 9 seconds as stated in the first reference. In my aircraft maintenance experience, I see this caution as derived from operational experience and does not reflect the actual transition time. I feel that the 6 second buffer from the "The normal transition time for operation of the landing gear is 9 seconds." to the 15 second CAUTION statement, is there to prevent the aircrew from recycling the gear too soon. This isn't a show stopper except that the gear is very easy to overspeed on departures with the 16 second retraction time as currently modelled. Regards, John
  5. It definitely would be a good choice. As you said: the early models saw combat in WW2, it was rather prominent in the Korean War and the later variants saw some action in Vietnam and Africa. You could say the rug really tied the room together.
  6. even if heatblur put fuzzy dice in the tomcat mirrors, would be happy for that.. B(U) sounds amazing... grateful for future updates!
  7. Thank you! I use Paypal and Stripe, and I don't think any of them can be used in Russia.
  8. Yeah, now that i opened them coolers its all good. Not sure if there was any mentioning in the last changlelog of the oil coolers etc having an effect. Maybe missed it. The unlocked tailwheel is fine, it doesnt caster around that much tbh especially if you gather speed fast, despite it not being according to specs ^^
  9. Well it works for me on spawn. No problems. You have to give it a good jolt and reduce throttle again. Then you can keep doing donuts. Slamming it full throttle isnt really necessary. Just step on the brakes and make sure tailwheel is unlocked. The moment you move forward with both tires it wont work anymore. It doesnt work with winds involved.
  10. Yeah I can not do it with my MIR Card unfortenatlly, but may be HE knows a way to donate. <profanity> His mods are asome
  11. USS Robin. America asks for help with a Carrier and Britain responds with HMS Victorious. The Pacific deployement in the words of the people who were there. .. ..
  12. Iraq never had any F-14s. The US NAVY retiring the F-14 had nothing to do with Iran also owning F-14s. The Iranian F-14As were lightyears behind in technology the F-14D and even BU. The F-14s had to have their wingboxes destroyed after retirement so that those sensitive parts would not end up on the back market. But the decision to retire the F-14 had nothing to do with that.
  14. No Idea. Generally speaking ED tests everything.
  15. I am completely stumped with how the slots are acting in my mission, it's like it is broken halfway between singleplayer and multi. It's hard to describe via text, i shot a video of the anomalies -

  17. @GumidekCZ MSAA doesn't work on your system. Welcome to the club. Please submit your DCS log and dxdiag dump and ping @Flappiem.maybe
  18. Addendum: What is the best course of action? The hacks that some presented are user workarounds to a problem. That easily has negative consequences when attempting to taxi a Corsair ashore or afloat. Taxiing under high engine RPM to lift the tail wheel is NOT recommended. It can spell disaster when completing a single-player campaign, multi-player mission, or other evolution.
  19. Just tried every map free Flight... F16...... DCS.exe in Task manager set to High once Launched...every time, as it defualts back to Normal @bignewy Could this be implemented into VR page on settings? 90FPS in all but Marianas, Germany and Sinai Not updated to hotfix yet......... Food for thought. Thankyou @Nuggetz @Calvin.Pimax @BIGNEWY
  20. @JupiterJoe, @Doughguy, & @-Rudel- Here are my tests in an F4U and P-47 with diff braking. See relevant track & MIZ files. These conditions are confirmed: 1. Damage to Corsair at initial spawn. 2. Corsair "slams" on deck after repair - potentially damaging tail wheel; no notice for sustained damage. 3. Poor turn radius with tail wheel unlocked (before and after repair). 4. Sharp turns in Corsair under 0 wind conditions by increasing engine to takeoff speed. Tail lifts off deck and diff braking is achieved. 5. Demonstrated the dangers of diff braking with high engine power & tail off deck in the Corsair. 6. Corsair track file with repair has accelerated time after initiating the repair cycle. 7. P-47 repair cycle NOT triggered at spawn point. 8. P-47 can perform sharp turns when engine near takeoff power. Tail lifts off deck & diff braking achieved with tail wheel locked. 9. External views yielded a visual difference between Corsair & P-47 tail wheel caster effects. Corsair shows limited, approx (+/-) 20 deg caster; P-47 tail wheel showed 90 deg caster. Conclusion: F4U-1D Corsair tail wheel model appears to be damaged at spawn and/or aircraft has too much weight on the tail wheel to prevent full caster. @JupiterJoe, I never put a lot of thought behind the repair cycle for aircraft. 21. Please see the Bug Reports section in this F4U forum. It's been discussed many times and you'll find your answer there. And yes, post track files since no details are given in your post. Here, to save you some time so you can get back flying sooner ...
  22. Hi, I checked it and somehow the success conditions got mixed up indeed. Please try his one. CG_Corsair_School_M08 - YE-ZB Navigation.miz
  23. Indeed...it's currently pretty bad. Like, "don't add to the public update yet" bad. Oh, well. They'll sort it out.
  24. SUggest would have worked better than offer which would have worked better than offend which I think could be an auto correct error like ducking mad
  25. ai non defensive.trk TRACKFILE - Caucuses map. Doesn't react after missile goes pitbull, just flies straight until it takes the missile in the face.
