After 18 years of USSR is broke up, first time this year Red Army is going to make a military ceremony at Red Square in Moscow. Almost 8000 soldiers and 171 military vehicles. I think Russia gives very open and understandable message to some countries. :thumbup:

Hi Folks, Just a heads up to let you know that there's a new tutorial on the A2A page of my site:: BFM 101: Understanding Corner Speed. It's 207MB and 14 minutes long. This would have been released about a year ago. I was about 3 hours from having it completed when my hard drive crashed and I lost everything (I thought)--about 60 hours of work. I couldn't bear the thought of starting over from scratch and, so, had written it off. However, a few weeks ago I discovered an early rough copy backed up to DVD. So with that in hand and adding some new video and voicing, I've completed a shorter version of the original. Hope you enjoy it. Rich

i nannot undersatnd people who still argue about mistakes in a model. why you just need to pick on that? there is no need to do that, and to be honest, the model is for free and many, really, many people have put hours of work into this project to get the bird flying. seriously, we should give the crap about guys who talk about the correctnes of the model, cause who wnat to have it real should go to the us air force and fly the hog there. guys, just one advise, just enjoy the models, and wait for further projects you can pick on again, LOL boom boom out, thanks

Ok guys.. I'm up for it.. Bring it on..!! You guys gonna have a new Hi detailed a-10 model and thats a personal promise of mine.. First.. please give me any kind of material you have about a-10.. Second.. where is the modified model of a-10 lo-fi worked on..that model could make things happen much faster..If its lost in linbo of models, then where is the hi poly model..Even if thats lost..than gimme the 3 way blueprints.. This doesnt mean that the plane comes out from the poll is going to be late or fade out.... We have a little "=TuAF= Skunk Works" team here..It will be done..Both.. Lets do this ppl..Lets fly the hog :)

Everyone is totally welcome. The Server will run all weekend with frequent restarts for fresh ground targets if required. However, There's more than enough targets to keep everyone happy! Just be sure to read the mission brief before you fly but most of all, HAVE FUN! :pilotfly: S!

А ничего пугаться и не надо. Я сам подрежу. Пунктик правил 1.3 никто не отменял. Да и вообще предлагаю обсуждать тему(и не отклоняться от неё) в более спокойном ключе, без перехода на личности.

да этот зануда сам себе что-то доказал и теперь двигает это как не подвергаемую сомнению истину. В первую очередь следует подвергать сомнению фразы типа "ну это же всем очевидно". На просьбу (неоднократную) показать, где именно было приведено ДО-КА-ЗА-ТЕЛЬ-СТВО правильности его позиции - неоднократно же отвечал "читайте тему - там всё есть", что прямо говорит об отсутствии доказательств как таковых. Это всё при том, что часть весьма компетентных участников прямо указали на принципиальную возможность пуска 27Т без захвата ГСН с последующим захватом на траектории, а часть не менее уважаемых людей прямо и честно заявили - ничего об этом в открытых источниках неизвестно (кстати, я придерживаюсь именно этого мнения). Судя по так активно цитируемому здесь РЛЭ самолёта Су-27СК, ракета Р-27Т1 вероятнее всего не может быть запущена без захвата ГСН на пилоне. Об Р-27Т/ЭТ неизвестно вообще ничего (видимо, соответствующая информация отсутствует в общем доступе). Это раз. Даже если предположить, что Р-27ЭТ нельзя пускать без получения сигнала "ПР", кто мне расскажет, почему нельзя навести её на пущенную перед этим Р-27ЭР? Собственно, в этом случае 27ЭТ будет лететь точно на цель (вслед за радийкой) и даже при самом строгом следовании "реалу" цель попадёт в 2* зону обзора ГСН ракеты. Это два. Кто мне расскажет, почему я не могу пустить ракету из режима Фи0 по визуально видимой цели с захватом ГСН на пилоне. При том что в этом режиме (в отличие от ДВБ) ПР загорается гораздо раньше. Однако ракета долго летит по прямой (опять же - четко в направлении цели, куда была пущена)? Это три. Кто мне расскажет, почему я не могу пустить ракету в режиме ДВБ с ПР, после чего цель уберёт движки с форсажа и ракета цель потеряет (найдя её в дальнейшем)? Это четыре. Кто мне скажет, почему я не имею права после отказа ИЛС, всех прицельных комплексов ит.п. от попадания ракеты во время штопора добить врага пуском активных и ИК ракет из режима "сетка" без траты времени на захваты и пр, на удачу? Это пять.

All 7-11s will close down for a day or two. Simmers all over the world will weep uncontrollably. It's the news that ends all news. Hell, we'll see a flood of flight sim geeks leaving the front door of their house for the first time in years! The only thing better than a flyable Hornet with AFM and avionics from Eagle D? USMC Harrier with AFM and avionics from Eagle D. Oi...I feel a fainting coming on...

Ягуар из той же серии что и Хариер(http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=28&file=779&lang=en), когда-то делал модельки которые анимировались на фоне ЛО. Ролик собран из оставшихся материалов от разных мувиков и не вошедших по тем или иным причинам, ну и некоторые опыты по обработке видео.Отсюда и название(не без иронии конечно))) Всем спасибо и удачных выходных.

Hmm. It seems to be a difference between aircraft and missiles - probably related to the aircraft having a more complex shape to push through Mach 1. In the chart that you show (for aircraft?), the Cd seems to increase by around 4 times at Mach 1. For missiles, the Cd is flatter, seeming to increase only about 1.5 times (see attached). Perhaps v^2 dominates the equation for missiles, while Cd dominates for aircraft. So, I still believe that for practical purposes, launching a missile at high speed rather than slow speed will give an F-pole disadvantage, that must be compensated by the fighter slowing down or maneuvering after the launch. So IMHO, accelerating above Mach 1 might be good for intercepting defenseless bombers and spy planes that happen in real life (in which case F-pole doesn't matter), but not for the fighter duels we like to have in our sims (in which case F-pole is often more important than maximum range).

Cool to see new projects related to Blackjacks, I like this bomber.

In lack of better data I would put both on par. The actual difference IRL would depend more on the flares used (yes they are researched after optimal IR frequence too), and ELINT.
