  1. I see what you mean, but I think we shouldn't overstate the mod issues. I only had to fix two of my 100+ assets after the 2.9 update. And one of them was an oversight on my part, the missile scaling. The main issues with the 2.9 update affects core game as well as the mods, pretty much to the same extent. Well made (code and models) mods should pretty much only be affected to the same extent as the DCS core assets.
  2. That's strange. There shouldn't be any issues with the Type 055, except for the orbiting cruise missiles where we need a DCS hotfix. I can run all my 100+ assets without issues.
  3. Nope, the PGL-625 had to be updated since DCS 2.9 required a new parameter for a missile. I've tested the Abrams a lot and I can't find any issues or error messages connected to it. Start a single mission with only the Abrams, quit and then send me your DCS.log. I'll take a look and see if there is something obvious going on.
  4. Yeah, sorry, forgot to answer that. Had all my focus on the enormous missile. It's intentional, I haven't found a good way to implement IR guided missiles which are vertically launched. The preferred solution would be for ED to implement a LOAL feature to the missile scheme. But until then I needed an active/self guiding missile which would work while launched vertically. My only option was an active radar seeker. I had to do the same with the Sea Ceptors and other similar missiles too. When I find a better solution I will implement it.
  5. Yep, the DCS graphics engine seem to be less forgiving now. There was an scaling issue with the IRIS-T, DCS versions before 2.9 didn't really care about them, but the new version is very strict on the matter. So I figured I should fix these old scaling issues (in my case these are mostly my earlier work when I didn't know of this) even if ED make changes to the graphics engine. Because you never know if they will turn up again in the next version. In short, if you make sure the scaling is correct with your 3d models before exporting the EDMs you should be fine, otherwise DCS 2.9 will make you notice them.

  7. I meant a mission file, with the extension .miz. If you save a missions they are by default placed in a folder called Mission in your DCS saved games folder. Haha, yep, that's the ICBM version of the IRIS-T.
  8. While testing the updated MiG-29MU2 I noticed the MALDs are having the same issue as the cruise missiles, they tend to enter a circular pattern.
  9. I think I'm going to hold off making any changes to my assets until ED have released a couple of 2.9 hotfixes. Otherwise I'll just be chasing my own tail. Edit: It looks like ED decommissioned and replaced the scheme I used for the JDAM-ER. That's why we have this on the 2.9 changelog: DCS: JF-17 by Deka Ironwork Simulations Fixed: LS-6 and GB-6 do not fly to target So I have updated the JDAM-ER accordingly, and it works fine now. I will release the updated MiG-29MU2 since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the other strange missile stuff going on.
  10. I can confirm this issue. I have done a lot of testing and the issue seem to (at least) be present in weapons using the cruise_missile_vert_start scheme, like the BGM-109 Tomahawk LACM. The same issues is of course present in my mods using the same scheme. The issue presents itself no matter the range to the target, the number of fired missiles or placement of the target. But the results are very non consistent, sometimes they work fine, sometimes they do a couple of loops and hit the target, sometimes they just loop until they run out of fuel.
  11. Yep, before every new DCS update I save and archive all the LUAs of the current version. I then run a compare on all the scheme files and check what kind of changes they have implemented. Sometimes it's necessary to change my assets for them to function, and sometimes I find new features to put into my assets. But this one is different. The scheme used for the mentioned cruise missiles (including the DCS core Burke) hasn't been changed since July. That's why I suspect the change is somewhere else in the core.

  13. It should definitely work, as I mentioned before, I have my 100+ assets installed simultaneous without issues (not counting ED issues like strange cruise missile behavior etc). Send me your dcs.log file and I'll take a look and see if there is something obvious.

  16. Good catch, so it seems like most/all of the cruise missile schemes are behaving odd in 2.9.
  17. Has anyone seen if a formal bug report on the LACM issue has been submitted to ED?
  18. Yep, it looks like a specific missile scheme (or something connected to it) has been changed in 2.9. This means the following of my assets with LACMs will behave strange until ED releases a fix: Iskander SSM CJ-10 GLCM Project 22350 Admiral Gorshkov Class Frigate Project 22800 Karakurt Class Corvette Project 11356R Admiral Grigorovich Class Frigate Arleigh Burke Flight III Destroyer Ticonderoga CMP Cruiser Type 26 Frigate Type 052D Destroyer Type 055 Destroyer DCS core units will of course also be experiencing the same issue.
  19. Thanks for the reports. I will go through them and check the individual weapons, to see if they’re a me or ED issue. In general, if units doesn’t spawn it’s most likely a mod missing a newly required parameter after a DCS update. And it only takes one bad mod to cause this.
  20. Correct. It doesn’t take much. There was an addition of a single missile parameter for the missile scheme the PGL625 FB10A IR guided missile uses that was the culprit. It’s been fixed now. So update the PGL625 to 1.4.0 and at least my 100+ assets will function as intended.

  23. Not hard at all, it took me 30 seconds to fix the conflict issue. I've asked Gonzalo to include the fix in their next update. But here are the needed changes.
