Eurofighter relative flight performance, feat. Gero Finke
F-2 replied to Hummingbird's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
A Chinese defense blogger I found. https://www.zhihu.com/people/wangbinse-er/posts they have some interesting stuff like a Mirage 2000 performance manual and excerpts of the J-10 manual. Some of these figures like the super hornet and Eurofighter have been reported elsewhere, along with the Block 60 with CFT being the worst. https://carnegieendowment.org/files/Force_June_2011-Ashley_J._Tellis.pdf the figures are also consistent with other F-16 performance figures. The declassified F-16 block 15 SAC from 1984 gives a similarly loaded viper a 16 degree a second turn rate at 5000 feet (the Italian Air Force claims the two are similar under 10000 feet which is consistent with this number). As for the thrust rating that can de misleading especially since the F110 has tremendous Dynamic thrust HFFM data, simulated by Mav-JP and Raptor one: M88 thrust curve from this paper http://elodieroux.com/ReportFiles/ModelesMoteurVersionPublique.pdf you can see at a lot of the envelope like the critical mach .9 the F110-ge-129 has much more thrust then it’s 29000lbf rating would suggest and even has more thrust then two M88 engines. The F110-GE-132 is more powerful then that and it’s official brochure says it should be more accurately categorized as a 34000lbf class engine. the drag polar for the F-16 is publicly available and thrust curves for every engine other then the F110-GE-132, so it’s possible to test to see how close other F-16 variants are are a judge of credibility. pdfslide.net_f110-ge-132-enhanced-power-through-low-risk-derivative-technology.pdf -
I wouldn’t, it’s Chinese simplified so mainland. They evaluated the aircraft and Rafale a few times till the late 90s so it might be from that. I’m trying to confirm exactly.

Eurofighter relative flight performance, feat. Gero Finke
F-2 replied to Hummingbird's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
I wish I knew the exact load and could figure out how the block 50 would do under similar circumstances. Block 60 is heavy but with a Saturn V engine so I’m not sure if it’s better or worse then the DCS jet we have. -

I have what appears to be a Chinese language performance table on the mirage 2000-5 (Taiwanese?) if that helps

Good News, this prove we may one day get J-10 in DCS.

My request was sent to them in December so that’s sometime in 2026 if things go well.

I know the Mig-29 is in limbo not confirmed but if you guys ever decide to develop it. https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/mig-29-avionics.102/ https://studfiles.net/preview/5383872/ https://studfiles.net/nau/145/folder:11012/#5383849 you could probably develop a very high fidelity radar model based on that.

There is an old IAF desktop simulator online. The public version has no avionics but it should be enough for an AI version.

what tactics are the eurofighter suitable for?
F-2 replied to Cunning_Raven's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
The Italian Air Force says they’re about the same under 10000 feet. -
Almost all plausible documents I’ve come across are Mig-25p however I under stand the PD is near identical avionics wise to the Mig-23
-
Secret projects has some avonics manuals for the Mig-25P i have a FOIA for Viktor Belenko’s manual. That request went to the DIA which has an abysmally long response time measured in years. I sent a request today for ”Vulnerability Analysis of the Soviet MIG-21MF FISHBED J, MIG-25 FOXBAT, and SU-19 FENCER A Aircraft to Various 30mm, 35mm, and 40mm Projectiles” to Aberdeen proving grounds, can be up to 63 buisness days.

The Su-34 radar is unclassified? -
it absolutely is
-
It has to be a third party and they need to collect the documentation to do a Su-30. AI shouldn’t be impossible. I could get useful stuff to make it happen.

The AIM-7 Sparrow Missile - Technology, History and Performance
F-2 replied to Iron_physik's topic in Military and Aviation
AIM-7R was prototyped and tested but never employed. Its seeker became the ESSM seeker. Supposedly the IT seeker was AIM-9m equivalent but a third the size. their was a mysterious AIM-7N which was said to be a AIM-7F upgrade for F-15 MSIP produced in limited quantities. I can’t find much of anything on it. AIM-7Q was an Active/Semi Active/IR missile that predated AIM-7R. There isn’t much on it but I strongly suspect it was the AMRAAM fall back mentioned in some GAO reports. -

Yes but it’s different from their other flankers https://twitter.com/RupprechtDeino/status/1035157953270169600
-
Interestingly they are all centerline, I had an article saying the MKK could carry PL-12 on all stations because of a better mission computer. Maybe the J-11 is limited by the computer? The F-15 had some limits when it first got AMRAAM.
