AMR-1 was a project to turn the Pl-11 into a ARH missile. I don’t think it was produced but it did make it to hardware prototype. 1996 Zhuhai show

Mig-29A avionic vs NATO avionic opponents (only cold war avionic)

https://www.f-16.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=58250&start=105 from what I gather from this and the GAO report the 402 hornet is similar to the block 52 in terms of its traditional dogfighting performance but has its high AoA capabilities. Block 50 is a bit better then the 52 in this regard but probably not nearly enough to overcome the high AoA advantage. it seems the hornets high AoA is no joke I recall but can’t remember where a Raptor pilot called the 402 Hornet the toughest opponent in BFM

Would love it. Some of them are on discord but I’m not sure if they can run a server.

If there is one it’s news to me though it might be possible to get one through legal means As I understand it from reading Billion Dollar Spy, Tolkachev only compromised the specs of N019’s target recognition system and made the CIA aware it existed. Most of the hard documents he provided were related to various versions of SAPFIR and ZASLON. I do recall reading that N019 was pretty poor against ECM pods of the era.

Didn’t the RDI enter service in 1987? I know the mirage 2000C has some extra 90s add ons but it’s still pretty fundamentally similar to the late 80s aircraft. The mirage 2000 RDM were never really wanted children (the French were arm twisted into buying to boost export prospects) and cast off to Djibouti and as far as I know not really planned for the defense of France in a Cold War gone hot. RDM had lots of issues that I don’t know if were actually resolved by the time RDI entered service. RDM is also pretty similar to the F-1 radar and used the super 530f in French service (while export aircraft got the D) and the two are probably very similar as BVR platforms. With the smaller engine they had performance somewhat between the F-1 and big engine mirage.

Good News, this prove we may one day get J-10 in DCS.

I guess nothing about F-16XL is any worse than J-8PP. Just remember that the flight control was in a rough state at the time of completion. I think the prototype had F-16A avionics but I heard block 25 as well. I don’t think ED wants to do this project but no reason an interested group couldn’t.

I don’t see why it matters if the F3R uses AESA when we have several options to use PESA doing a computerized RCS study isn’t different from doing a computerized CFD study. It’s a pretty common tool, in fact I’m fairly sure all stealth aircraft produced to date were designed by computer. The Rafale doesn’t incorporate stealth shaping to anywhere it should drastically deviate from any aircraft of contemporary age in game today. Im only saying that as far as DCS is concerned nothing about the Rafale’s EW suite should be that different from the Hornet, Viper, JF-17, and probably Eurofighter. EW is simplified and there exists some fairly detailed articles on how the system works, including a pretty interesting paper by the author.

The Rafale F1 F2 and F3 used a PESA radar. As for RCS it’s not a stealth design and their are RCS https://basicsaboutaerodynamicsandavionics.wordpress.com/2023/04/08/rafale-radar-scattering-simulation/ as for EM, I don’t see that as any different then any other aircraft in dcs 80s-2000s.

https://defencepk.com/forums/threads/paf-j-10c-news-updates-and-discussion.18/page-26#post-56655 this source “Be Dazzled” is PAF connected and has a pretty good track record of being correct. J-10C winning 4 of 6 BVR engagements over Qatari Typhoons. Captor-E MK-0 vs J-10CE AESA PL-15 vs Meteor. would love to get any kind of J-10 some day. -
I’m interested to get a look at the new external model. I hope for the BS3 treatment.

The radar on the J-8H/F is actually not secret and it’s easy to get info on (it’s almost identical to apg-66). It seems cockpit functionality is the issue.

Different rolls, air superiority vs multirole.

PL-8 is heavy, like AMRAAM weight

Yea I have no idea if it would ever actually be possible, I figure no harm in asking, for the same reason we have the KA-50 and Sukhoi potentially being open to it. my favorite Su-27m video
-
Supposedly they cooperated in the past on an Su-27m sim. http://www.migman.com/sw/su-35/Su-35.php apparently as of a few years ago Sukhoi was up to cooperate. maybe not on an in service aircraft but something analog to the KA-50 with a developed aircraft like the Su-27m.

Yes J-10 avonics are similar to JF-17 from the J-10B simulator https://imgur.com/M4hE4gG https://imgur.com/umQoSe1 https://imgur.com/6h5YzWO https://imgur.com/FH5XLmt J-10CE has a similar physical layout even the J-10a is pretty similar https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/attachments/02c5300c-4f51-4431-bf43-e2a30badafbc-jpeg.695365/ of course the 800 pound gorilla in the room for a J-10CE is the AESA radar.
