investigating Copilot "Assumed Trim" operation bug.
Tarres replied to Tarres's topic in Bugs and Problems
Track added (sort of)... Assume trim bug.trk -
Copilot "Assumed Trim" bug. Premise: In the CPG left wall , "Assumed trim" hands over the trim control to the copilot when switched on and the CPG has the controls in operation position (red colective guard pressed or control requested). Bug: Force trim button is always active for the copilot when he takes control, even with "Assumed trim" not switched on. Trim with the "Trim hat" operation is correct, only the CPG has trim control with the "Tim Hat" when the "assumed trim" switch is set to on. Note: It´s difficult to make a track due to the bug is only visible when the controls are physically pressed or actuated and the inputs are showed in the "Rcrtl+Enter" overlay. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it´s a constant 10º deviation. On a side note, in the Greben (1 and 2) the normal operation position is the Gyro position, confirmed with KA-32 firefighter's pilots.
-
Thanks. No problem. I supposed that was WiP.
-
First and foremost, maybe it´s WiP. Second, maybe it´s user problem. With a desired course dialed and the Route mode set to on, there is a discrepancy between the course dialed and the course that the HSi shows. Attanched trk with an example using the free flight mission over the Caucasus, so the HSI is correctly set with the MAGVAR and the operation mode is set to GYRO in the Greben-1 that is the operational mode. So, in theory no differences between the HSI and the external view bar information. Maybe the HDG mode in the Greben-1 is involved in the Route mode operation? Thanks. MIke. P.S. Any chance to have an updated manual? It seems that the 24P is following the path of the Mi-8 manual. Route mode HDG off.trk

I´m between "no pedal trim" - "Enable/disable by pedal movement" and "no pedal trim" - "Automatic off". @AeriaGloria What do you think?
-
+1 I suspect that weapons in general will be "updated " in due time.

Mi-24 Bombing - sight, timer system info on how it's done IRL?

Yes, same here. Maybe WIP. -
Mi-24 Bombing - sight, timer system info on how it's done IRL?
Tarres replied to fargo007's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Trying to operate the sight and the controls, but.... where is the light in the PKI frame that comes off? -
The M3 weapons are from LOMAC. There are even FAB/IAB subvariants that no plane can use. Remember that the 21 was a mod for LOMAC and in the beginning was to be a separate program. No files cleanup were made in order to make the module compatible with DCS.
-
+1 On side note, I think that ED. must control weapons files. We´ve got 2 or 3 types of S-5 but some are only available for the 19P (made by Razbam) and others for example the Durandal are triplicated between ED, Razbam and Aerodev for their respective modules.

From the cutaways that I’ve seen it seems to be where you’ve said. And only 1 ARK antenna, so 1 ARK set with 2 control sets, one for each crewmember.

Sorry for restart the thread but the behaviour it´s not correct. The MI-24P has only one ARK-15 set with 2 control sets. (Same as the L-39 and Yak-52, different sets but the same concept of 1 ARK set and 2 control sets). Each control set has a control button to "take control" of the ARK-15 set, enabling the correspondent crewmember to dial and control the frequency of the ARK-15. This frequency set by the crewmember is the input that drives the needle in the HSI to mark the NDB position in each cockpit. It´s the same behaviour that works as intended in the L-39 and the Yak-52. So the bug is not resolved, in multicrew when the pilot or copilot takes control of the ARK-15 with his control set, the dialed frequency of the desired NDB must be shown by the HSI needle in both HSI, not set the other HSI (the crewmember that doesn´t have control) as "off" with the needle marking the 0º position.

Thanks a lot! Yesterday talking with a former KA-32 firefighter pilot (Ka-32 has a similar Greben-2 system) confirmed me that the Gyro is the standard flight position, with the Mag position used to enter the MagVar with the KM-2 and synchronize it with the pushbutton, Only doubt now is the 3rd position of the Mag/Gyro/HDG and the tune/oper switch.
-
Thanks. It´s what I was thinking. I´ll make some more tests.

The "embarking troops" value is set to 24. I think 24 infantry troops is a bit optimistic. MI-24P.lua LInes affected: 856-858 InternalCargo = { maximalCapacity = 2400, nominalCapacity = 2400 Maybe 800 (8 infantry troops) is a better value.

@AeriaGloria I´m doing some tests with the route mode and the (route) heading selector. The readings in the Caucasus map between the heading introduced with the heading selector and the HSI seem to have a discrepancy that is the MagVar. If you enter a desired course of 352º, the HSI after the turn has a reading of 0º. What do you think? Maybe related with the Greben? I think that the Greben is WiP.
-
According to the Greben-2 operation (KA-32 pilot´s manual), the operational mode is the "Gyro Mode", and the "Mag mode" is used for setting up the system with the KM-2 declination. Any mission created for the 24P with the helo set in hot condition shows the Greben-1 sets in Gyro mode. But I´m not sure. The 24P manual hasn´t been updated since release.

resolved WIP? R-863 emergency frequency receiver light
Tarres replied to Tarres's topic in Bugs and Problems
Solved in beta per 5/2/2022. ADF switch not functional, but I believe it´s as per IRL. Thanks. -
It´s not possible due to how TGP and Mavericks work IRL. The weapon system only allows 1 "external video feed", so it´s not possible to have 2 image sources (external) at the same time.

By mistake I called the Tarawa instead of the SC in a Hornet and the Tarawa gives me a full Case I comms. It´s reported to Razbam.
-
Short Track for the Hornet attached: LHA COMM.trk If you try to land in a CVN, it triggers the "airfield communications". Attached File AV8-CVN74 COMM.trk
-
NDB beacons to use with the ADF/ARK systems. The 21 uses a proprietary navigation system because it was created as a mod for the old LOMAC series and never intended to be a proper module for DCS.

The Bendix were only used in the USA mainland. Not implemented in DCS. The AN/ARA-8 works as intended in DCS. Set in the ME one unit with a frequency in the SCR522 range and with a transmission (wav) file. Set this frequency in one of the 4 presets of the SCR522 (I use the C in this example). With the C selected, set the AN/ARA-8 in the "Comm" position, you can hear the code (wav file) you set in the ME. If you set the selector in "Homing", you will hear the indications (morse) that informs you that you are left/right/in corse .

AN/ARA-8 works as intended here.
