Did you check your motherboard if it supports enough PCI-E lanes to actually use a m.2 NVME full potential? Whats your Motherboard? How many m.2 Slots available? I would mainly recommend running Windows on the NVME, just to get the most smoothest performance in everyday use. A good quality SSD will work perfectly for DCS. If you get a 1TB NVME you can install Windows AND DCS on the one drive. But if downloading 155GB is a concern for you, than definitly try to have a backup anywhere else.

Had the MFG Crosswind as well. Milan is a great guy to work with and the pedals are great. But the footrest were not my liking and he failed to deliver the combat footrest he announced in like 2015... Sold mine and purchased the TPR. IMHO they are better feeling product, but of course more expensive.

Important to state thats Australian Dollars. So a lot less ;-)

Can confirm, the ToggleVR is working in Oculus with 1.2.3.10 :) -

Not at my computer right now, but just go into the setting and look for the XYZ[m] settings. Just swap +- one by one and test if it jumps to the left side. I assume it's the X Value --> -0.25. -
To your 3rd point. Forget about the Pass Through Camera to look at your kneeboard. Won't work. Check out VRKneeboard. You will be able to use a WACOM or Huion Tablet as a replacement for your physical Pen & Paper. It will show up in your cockpit and you can easely change the position.

How can I change the language of the game?
Gruman replied to TheFlyGuy's topic in New User Briefing Room
True. But the user wouldnt have wasted 20 min looking for this option in the settings and there would be one less support request topic in the forums ;). At least the game should ask while installing which language should be enabled. :smartass: True. -

Changing the Language shouldnt take a manual config edit. This should be selectable under settings. -
VRK - a virtual reality enabled kneeboard with touch and ink support
Gruman replied to AMVI_Rider's topic in DCS Modding
Well, to get back to this point... Basicly you can use it... If you have it on another display, you can write on the WACOM panel while still send the writing to the Monitor. Dooing that all the time while testing out new features for Rider. If you want to use it on your main screen, Rider could maybe implement a function so it's shown above all windows (like Task Manager or the Configuration tool of VAICOM), but this might require to run DCS in Window mode. And it will block a lot of the view. Another way is to use a surface Pro (or any Windows Tablet) and just use it there without any link to DCS what-so-ever.. Still a usable kneeboard you can load PDF's on. -
How do I check the printed circuit board? (Slew-Cursor defect)
Gruman replied to Muts's topic in Thrustmaster
Alright. I assume the rest of the throttle is working without issue? You got a Voltmeter/Ohmmeter? The connector which is not plugged in. Pins from Right to left 1: 3.3V -> You should be able to measure this voltage. Use the Via Bottom Left as Ground 2: I2C SDA -> This will connect directly to the connector which goes down into the throttle. Check with the OhmMeter 3: I2C SCL -> Same as above. Check the connection. If this is all correct, unscrew the bottom of the throttle and check if the flat cable is connected into the mainboard. Let's hope your cable doesnt have a damaged wire. Feel free to send a DM on Discord -> Gruman#2671 Just saw you are also from Switzerland :D -
Flight planner and generic data cartridge manager
Gruman replied to SilentSierra's topic in DCS Core Wish List
A good stopgap until we get a flightplanner would be to be able to import raw text files with waypoints (Like the Viggen is capable off). Tools like CombatFlite allows pilots to do the flight planning and exporting the waypoints (currently limted to the Viggen). Later it could be extended with Radio Preset Channels, Presets for MFD configuration and finally a GUI inside DCS. -
How do I check the printed circuit board? (Slew-Cursor defect)
Gruman replied to Muts's topic in Thrustmaster
Here You will find some information about the I2C Connection. If you had a logic analyzer you could check if the signal is transmitted correctly. When you fixed your PCB, it would be a great oppertunity to replace the unit with a usable alternative. If you make a detailed pic of the PCB (so I can read the writing on the IC's), I might could give some tipps. Do not want to disassemble my throttle tonight ;) -
Check out Voice Attack with VAICOM. You can disable the player voice in VAICOM. And have a lot of other option for SRS etc.

Drogue and still some tube? He received more than he wanted from the tanker :music_whistling:

Just practice the AOA flight. Fly straight, drop speed to 250, Flaps to full, Gear down. Now trim the aircraft out, so you get the orange Donut in the AOA Indexer. You are fully trimmed out, when you don't need any joystick inputs and control your ascent/descent rate with your throttle. This would be the state you would fly downwind before you start your turn for base.

An AAR Update would be nice. Agree in all points. Some other AI Tanker aircrafts would be nice as well (KC-10, F/A-18E/F Buddy Refueling). At least we are getting the KA-6C and the S-3 soon. What do you mean with "Working KC-135 MPRS"? Working in the sense of able to refuel both types of connection system in one aircraft? This would certainly be highly appreciated . Radio comms could be improved. Maybe add other voices as well. The pilot should be able to request a limited amount of fuel.

VoiceAttack with or without Viacom?
Gruman replied to BlacleyCole's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I own a licence for VAICOM. It's nice. Works most of the time. But would I purchase it again for my use case? Well, Yes... but... :smartass: Let me explain: I fly 99% multiplayer. My interaction with AI is fairly limited. SO out of the 500 commands, I use maybe 10. Tanker Tower AWACS I assume I would be able to setup Voice Attack fairly easy to use those uses and would be happy. VAICOM just saves me the 1h setup time. But this time is spend to get VAICOM running. So well ;) If you plan to talk a lot to the AI, go right ahead. Nothing better out there. If you fly a lot of Multiplayer and SRS, you might wanna think about how you talk to VAICOM. Will you assign new PTT for VAICOM so you never transmit on SRS? Will you use the OnePTT Version and let VAICOM automaticly select the Radio Channel? Or are you just transmitting your commands on the net? This can increase immersion, but the voice commands would have to be relearned so it fits the propper brevity of the group you fly with. There are new SRS and DCS VoiceChat integration in the newest version, but I'm not sure yet if they really tackle the problem of SRS and VAICOM. -
+1 IMHO only thing that is really missing is a new Mini-Update with some intel. Next features, estimated timeline, change of priority for both the Hornet and Viper. The Newsletter last Friday was a bit a bummer for not WWII guys.

Flight planner and generic data cartridge manager
Gruman replied to SilentSierra's topic in DCS Core Wish List
+1 Definitly needed. Data cartridge and Flight Planner would be a huge help. Would be nice if we would see the first release of the Cartridge Function Wags announced last February. -
Canadian Noob confused on 2 items to purchase
Gruman replied to g2k's topic in New User Briefing Room
The TPR's are too expensive, but this overpriced Flight Seat is not? ;) I had the PLAYSEAT® EVOLUTION ALCANTARA (basicly the car version) of this seat. Wasnt that great. And that "Center Stick Mount" is terribly placed. Probably better to just buy a car seat or a office chair and repurpose them for your project :). -
Yep. It's great. Just buy a drawing tablet from this list: Wacom: Intuos S, Intuos M (both BT and USB version) (My preference) Huion: HS64, H640P, H950P (Cheap way) Works great. Highly recommended. Lot of features are planned. Lots of updates with those new features. This tool should be a lot better known by the VR Sim community. Works just great and is basicly compatible with any VR game...
-
Awesome flight chair  Great project. If I may make a recommendation? Extend the Hornet Stick a bit and adapt the Flight Seat accordingly. Makes it a lot more comfortable. Did you wrote down measurements? For the MFD Holders and the whole front panel? Maybe even a sketch? :music_whistling: Looking forward to seeing more.

I like the idea. How would you route the usb cable? Would like the idea even more, if the buttons would be replaced by a centered analog axis (Hall Sensor and a Magnet). The firmware for the nano board could be setup to output the axis plus two buttons, which are activated at >50% of axis travel. :smartass:

Sure, here you go. This is the Topic here on the Forums. This is the WebShop of Andre Just a warning. The JetSeat is pretty loud. So if you fly while the other inhabitants of your flat/house are sleeping, its a bit too loud. you could try to dampen it, but then you can simply buy the cheaper vanilla version.
