Rift S user too, 1920*1080 res with 1.2pd setting. 1 mile out, only able to see a glowing amber dot on the left side of the deck. You can assign the VR spyglass key to a HOTAS button, and use it will be able to discern the ball. Or frankly, I don't look at the ball, but rather place my VV symbol over the ship's bow while keeping it at 3.5 degree below horizontal bar line. that would make you on the correct glide path.

i just hit Num.5 button every time I enter a cockpit.

I know Star Citizen can track player's face expression by using a camera, maybe that's something ED could do in future.
-
Same question here, as leap motion is applicable in the game, I assume quest 2 hand tracking would be an easy job? Anyone knows how?

I'm with DCS that we should replicates the real life jet, yet it's a little weird that (in real life) the hornet HOTAS doesn't have a function to drop all designated/locked contacts at once. (My thinking is the designer/engineer of the system might pick up something like hold the "NWS/undesignate" button for 3 seconds to drop the lock)
-
Just checked this morning, if solid-lock a target into STT and then press "undesignate" button, it will drop the STT first but then automatically re-designates the same contact as L&S. Thanks, I guess in AA mode, the undesignate button isn't a really an undisgnate button, but rather a "return" or "cycle" button.
-
Thanks Tholozor. I cannot recall it clearly, I need to test it again tomorrow morning. But it just looks like after undesignated a target, the radar enters an auto-lock mode. (sorry no trackfile at this moment)
-
Hey guys, I noted that when i tried to lock/softlock and unlock a target: 1. in RWS mode, if soft-lock (press TDC down once) on a target, then click unlock (undesignate) button, radar will soft-lock the 2nd target near the primary target, if click unlock again, radar will drop 2nd target. 2. in RWS mode, if solid-lock (press TDC down twice) on a target, then click unlock, the radar will drop the target but then auto-lock the target quickly (abt 1-2 sec) again. So the only way I could completely drop an "already-designated" target is by clicking the "RESET" OSB, do you guys experience the same or did I do something wrong? Thanks again!

I also found it slew too fast (not sure if it's as it is in real life or not)

I struggled to get out of Iran and get the emergency air refueling in time in mission 05. I tried 8 times and passed the mission. What I did was dropped fuel tank before entering Iran, full AB flee to coast immediately after Prince was shot down, then reduce throttle to mil when hitting 2000 lbs, reduce to idle when hitting 1000 lbs, then it’s about to trigger the refueling request radio. Must maneuver precisely without much adjustment/deviation to get behind the tanker so I could get refuel timely before gas ran out. Man this is hard!
-
I realized that if I joined formation on Prince's right wing, then it won't trigger "Press Space to tell Prince that you're saddled" part, and no "Remind Prince the cruising speed" nor "Tell him to switch to Strike and AUX and enable Guard" part. But if I form on his left wing, then above text/plot will be triggered. (Or maybe the one time I joined on his right wing I was too slow and missed WP2 before saddled.)

Got it, thanks.

Apologize for digging this buried post, and not complaining "the map is too small" here, just a small wondering if there is any WIP expansion of the PG map or any plan to expand it someday in the future? As Iraq along with Kuwait (detailed cities and terrains) are very hot area, especially to replicate some of the historical battles. I'm willing to pay extra dollars for Iraq/Kuwait expansion

I recalled that Viper can show taxi speed on DED, but don't think Hornet has such thing.

As I tried this morning, I also noticed that most menu items in Radar Attack Display are "clickable" by the TDC, such as change scan azimuth, vertical bar, TWS/RWS, auto/man etc, this is quite handy!

Wow, I didn't know this before, thanks!

requested VR head moves through closed Cockpit
Jenson replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have no idea why you try to move your head out of the canopy, I think it's okay to unrestrict the view. -
May I ask what does 10 and 6 stand for? is it in feet or just a numeric value? Thanks.
-
you forgot to put "Deluxe Vista Canopy" in the poll dude.
-
I think both F-18C and A-10C are good choice for now, but F-18C is still in early access although it's almost complete.

If you can't beat it high and fast, maybe try to beat it low. (I never played the mission and it's just for open talk, I assume I don't know anything better than you) If you have AWACS, turn off your radar and approach the mig31 from very low altitude from flank, using AWACS datalink as support on your SA, when within about 25 nm, radar on and shoot at target with 2 AIM-120C at 3-5 sec interval, once pitbull, break out. If you don't have AWACS but at least has wingman, ask wingman to stay high at 35k feet, low speed and approach with S route, playing surveillance role with radar on, while you approach at low altitude, high speed from flank, use datalink as an advantage. If you are flying alone, then perhaps not to engage mig31 unless have to.

I see, I thought it was designed for dogfight...

I recalled in Chuck's manual, it says when you are pulling a high G turn, press it will instruct the onboard computer to increase limit (of G or alpha) for about 3 second. Why this isn't used with real pilots?
-
Maybe try to press pinky switch to increase instant G limit?

ATFLIR immediately creates TGT point and WPDSG + Undesignate issue.
Jenson replied to zildac's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I have an issue after having designated a waypoint as TGT, the ATFLIR cursor wouldn't allow me to slew, even if the FLIR DDI is selected as PRI. I recalled the Lightning Pod allows me to slew (to adjust) after target designation.
