  1. So still being the Helios noob that I am… what does this do? Messing with code is not my strong suit at all

You can change your pilot view position r-shift+r-ctrl+ the number pad keys and * and \ to zoom .. r-alt+ numberpad 0 will save that viewpoint as the default view( numberpad 5),( especially helpful in the a-10 , and others, to get a better view of the hud). However the main/default view zoom/ fov will always be the same. I have view zoom in/ out on a hat as well since I mess with it a lot even using track IR. I don’t belie ve there is a way to change that. 2.8 added a fov slider but it changes when you use the zoom function in game, its useless. The default fov must be coded in per aircraft , I’ve never found a way change that.
  3. Oh didn’t see that, I’ve been running the 6.0 builds. 5.2.1 wins until ED fixes it.
  4. I feel like modules/ aircraft deserve their own wishlist. Terrains/ maps have it, why not aircraft/vehicles/ground assets(sams,, aaa radars)/ships etc ? Just my thought of the day.

  5. Just had this same thing. Haven’t played SP in a while. Loaded up a liberation campaign and I swear every flight set to go to a hold point just stayed there. Out on a bombing run in the harrier.. actually trying to follow waypoint times for once.. oh look some migs are spotting me.. where’s my escort(s)? f-10 map: oh all 4 jets, two separate flights, are still circling the initial hold point even though its already past TOT …
  6. I only mess with Helios and basic mfd exports. I see quite a few people having the same issue as you, especially since ED adjusted the fullscreen logic to work “ correctly”.
  7. Just a thought, what if you set windows to duplicate the desktop instead of extending the display? Will DCS launch on whichever display you opened it on or will it just mirror and open on both?

I’m not much into the ME but I was hoping to be able set my practice missions on dynamic and then smash generate a few times and get some random cool clouds and weather without manually editing every setting, all I ever ended up with was clear skies and a few wispy clouds coming and going. Maybe thats not how it works but the dynamic weather certainly didn’t give me very much variation in all of my attempts…I could be using it wrong too lol
  9. I only speak English and I can’t keep up with them half of the time You’re not alone my friend! I would love to see the comm messages stay on screen longer, or like you said, an optional window to scroll back through them.
  10. Yes Ive turned the grass/clutter to 0 and also modified the lua associated with it. Which helps a lot..but I’m thinking like on Syria and PG ( which is probably actually baked into the map) not necessarily the grass/clutter sliders. The dumb little bushes that pop up right in front of you at low altitudes no matter what the clutter settings are LOL Just wishful thinking. But on the same note, the DCS grass, clutter and tree models could use some work too Just thinking out loud. Point was, there are many core aspects which have gone untouched for many years in lieu of developing new things.
  11. I too, question their priorities sometimes. I suppose they have their reasons. Personally, I would take clear skies all day long everyday, if it meant the AI had half a brain in general flight, in game HUD’s weren’t blinding at night( using exported mfd’s), better graphical support for widescreen monitors( looking at you fat, fuzzy HUD’s), ground targets in TGP weren’t totally camouflaged up close, but clearly visible 20NM out, stupid ground clutter popping in 200’ in front of the aircraft( either do away with it or make it fade in at longer distance).. etc etc.. Their priorities are theirs nonetheless Hoping that Vulkan support will alleviate some of the complexities for the devs once implemented, and allow some of these things to handled in a more efficient way.
  12. If you join the captnzeen discord channel, you will probably have a better chance for an answer. BluFinBima does most of the helios support now and is active on there. Report it in the #helios support section, just like you said here. There was some issues with the av8b and a-10 that were similar. If its on the helios end, Bluefin will take care of it. If its an issue with the profile itself then hopefully someone will know how. Haven’t seen CaptnZenn active anywhere for a while. Not sure if he is still supporting his profiles or not.
  13. Is the resolution correct? Are you running a 49” ultra wide monitor or like a 49” tv? 32:9 aspect or 16:9? A 49” ultra wide would be either 5120x1440 or 3840x 1080. 3440x1440 would be a 34” widescreen monitor with 21:9 aspect.. make sure the monitor resolution and aspect are still correct in dcs options…If its a 49” tv ( 16:9) then ignore me

If they are standard tension (extension) springs with hooks, you just need the length ( collapsed), diameter and wire thickness ( hard to measure without a caliper) prob easiest in mm measurement. But you can find them on amazon and all over, but they wont be by part number or anything unless through winwing. My VKB ones from the mfg are numbered #10, #20, 30, 40, 50 etc… which means nothing in the spring world lol Kind of a chore but might be your best bet
  15. I noticed this too even in pancake. Never had the problem before, although I’ve seen it mentioned previous to 2.8. Fps cut about in half when coming out of f10 until the world reloads. My pc is no slouch either, and has never had this effect until 2.8. Probably goes hand in hand with why things take so long to load in MP and some missions now. Not just in MP, mine was doing it last night playing some Liberation sorties in SP.
  16. There’s is also a bug right now where it may fail ic, even in servers with “pure scripts=no” then if you restart dcs and it will pass like it should @BIGNEWY stated the team is aware and working on it.
  17. Same here. Seems when I go into instant action everything loads right up, but any mission I’ve made, pre-made campaign, or MP takes a long time for textures and the world to load after already in the aircraft.
  18. So far , for me, As long as the server doesn’t have the new option “ require pure scripts” activated, helios is functioning fine with no IC fail. I don’t have any script or viewport modified other than whatever helios does.. But from my understanding, Helios doesn’t modify the scripts files, only reads then and uses them as a location to get the information for its interface and the export.lua. I could be wrong on that, not 100%, I’m fairly new to helios and still wrapping my head around its workings. I modify all of my HUD line thicknesses so they’re small and crisp like they should be, because on my 49” ultra-wide they look like Nintendo 64 graphics by default, and I get no IC fails on any of those either. Not sure why some people are having issues and some aren’t.
  19. I’ll +1 this. Even though I don’t use Viacom ( not for a long while anyway), I do think this is a very good thing for DCS and the community and should be heavily considered/ implemented by ED!
  20. There is an issue with the ka-50 on Helios. Dcs moved a patch file (or something of that nature, now helios can’t find it). If you have other aircraft you have to disable the ka-50 patches for now, well one specific but can’t recall it off the top of my head. Once you disable the ka-50 the rest of the patches will install. I think BlueFinBima is working on fixing it. Flying f-16 takeoff instant action on caucuses I’m normally at 85 ish fps on the ground, head toward the big city out front, under the cloud layer and I would drop to around 72.. after 2.8 and todays update I’m only around 60 fps on the runway and over that city dropping into the 45’s! .. messed with shadows to no avail, always had shadows on high and terrain on flat. To me the flat shadows look just like default now, but I’m not sure. Performance didn’t change at all going between flat and default. Did a pc restart and stuff and and fps bumped up to a better level ( windows must have been doing something in the background) but never the less, still having around 10-15 fps drop over 2.7 across the board, once I flew around a bit. I could easily hit my 120 fps cap shooting up in the sky, now it seems to barely hit 100. Perhaps there is still some shadow issues going on. I should add, I was on pancake, not vr

I noticed today that looking at the horizon, if i tilt the aircraft just slightly left or right, clouds in the mid-far distance all shift ever so slightly, kind of a wave like effect across the screen. and artifacts pop out along most of it. ( f-16 on caucuses takeoff instant action) As soon as the plane movement stops everything goes back to normal. Didn’t notice it until I was specifically looking at the clouds, now I can’t un-see it

  24. just ran through the cptnzeen discord and seems the issue is with a certain ka-50 patch.. i disabled all ka-50 patches and the rest of mine installed fine, a-10c2 , f16, f18, av8b, p51, huey only need to disable- mods\aircraft\ka-50cockpit\scripts\device_init.lua everything else should install
