  1. For all of you who are still struggling with the flight model of the AH-64 (or the helicopters in general), I have another tip that you can simply test. This is about a setting in the misc options (head movement caused by G-forces). This has nothing to do with the vibrations of individual parts in the cockpit, but simulates the back and forth swinging of the head by occurring G-forces. Just disable this setting and test your flight again in detail. If this setting is enabled, your vision (the pilot's head) will swing back and forth a lot and you will mostly try to compensate for these movements instead of those of the helicopter himself. Just give it a chance. Could be a night and day difference for many especially with TrackIR, where you move your real head yourself in addition.
  2. ...i would think he means George is flying. As you can see in the video. And yes, George should use the pedals too Track would be great. Have not tried to reproduce.
  3. Hello all, when you activate master arm override on the ground and look down slightly with the gun armed and auto range for the gun activated, it starts shaking wildly. This happens as soon as you look outside the limits of ability to move the gun on the ground. In the cockpit you will see then e.g. "AZ limit" flashing. In the external view, the gun wobbles wildly back and forth. Track attached Gun_jiggle_autorange.trk
  4. Hi all, the actual cockpit sun visor state is not represented in outside view. I'm sure that when the ability to move the sun visor was introduced, it was displayed accordingly in the exterior view Track attached sunvisor.trk
  5. Now the bird flies again. The open beta patch from today has solved this. Good job! Thanks ED.
  6. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/309356-ihadss-onoff-reversed-in-f1f2-view/ Have reported this a week ago. It´s since the patch from September 21th. But nobody reacts to my post.
  7. No.. Have understood completely right. And therefore the helicopter should never turn nose right if i crab flight sideways to the left. And also with a hundred plus knots forward flight without other wind than my flight speed the nose don't should point 15 degrees left and i have to put half right rudder to compensate. I wrote "without wind" only to exclude an additional source of error from outside.
  8. But I would have another way to reproduce this effect. Mission WITHOUT wind, environment completely neutral. Take off, stabilize hover, and try to hover slowly to the left. You need a little rudder left to keep the nose 90 degrees to flight axis. After a really short time, the helicopter turns abruptly around its axis to the right. You see at this moment a SCAS deflection to the left but without the expected effect. Manual left rudder does not help either. Hovering to the right works much better. What I also noticed is that simple straight flights, almost always point with much more nose to the left than before the last patch. Even at very high speeds. All without wind.
  9. 100% agreement. Caught myself cursing the flight model changes in one of my posts after a few hours of flying. Slept on it and gave it another chance the next day. With calm and patience, it gradually went back in the right direction. In real life the flight model just doesn't change, but in a simulation in early access it does. After that, it's a case of learning anew every time. Keep having fun with this wonderful helicopter on its way to perfection.
  10. Hi all, the IHADSS On/Off status is reversed in F1/F2 view. If it is enabled per default and you switch to F2 the Pilot has a detached IHADDS monocle. If you change this with key "i" it´s reversed, so it´s off in cockpit and on in the outside view. Track attached IHADSS-F1-F2.trk
  11. I feel the exact opposite. You can now take off almost without a rudder. The rudder authority is much weaker than before. This requires even more rudder input with less effect and even more loss of power to the engines as a result. It is almost impossible to fly with the nose in the direction of flight even at high speeds. Even in complete calm. Hovering with automatic altitude hold is almost impossible. Even in ground effect. I had to stop after a few hours, so unhappy am I with the current state. I can hardly believe anyone tested this before the release. No offense intended, but I didn't expect anything like this. I love the Apache and have been very happy with the flight model so far. Until today's patch. Hope for a hotfix.
  12. Two or three patch versions ago, there was definitely more movement and vibration in the cockpit. For example, the sun visor above the instruments actually vibrated constantly. And that even during quite unspectacular flights straight ahead. Can also be seen in many somewhat older you tube videos.
  13. Hello all, I wasn't sure where best to post my proposal. So now it is here. Can we have a separate item for the "Mirage F1" within the user files section under "Unit" to filter? Many thanks and keep up the good work.
  14. ...the official Quick Start Manual says on Page 216: If the ground speed is ≥ 40 knots or the radar altitude is >1,428 feet AGL, Barometric Altitude Hold sub-mode is activated. Additional logic governing the activation or de-activation of these sub- modes are listed below. Radar Altitude Hold Sub-mode Radar Altitude Hold is not a terrain following mode. It provides distance from the ground directly below the aircraft and does not provide any approaching terrain variation information. Radar Altitude Hold can only be activated when all of the following conditions are true: • Ground speed <40 knots • Altitude is ≤1,428 feet above ground level (AGL) • Vertical velocity is ≤100 feet per minute • The radar altimeter is powered on and operational But all hold modes are work in progress and especcially the altitude hold mode is a little glitchy since 28/7 patch.
  15. Seat and cushion through the brain. I think that hurts enough space seen from the outside
  16. I can confirm this. RAD altitude hold still works to some extent, but rather poorly. Box is missing but the sound when deactivating is played.
  17. Can confirm both too. I think came with the patch 2.7.16.27869 Open Beta. Thought that was only with me. Pilots FOV and/or position has changed and George sits further to the left, no longer centered. And as you can see from my screenshot, George's seat is actually more to the right of the pilot. (I know that the seat is not exactly centered in the real Apache). It appears that when you currently look forward at George from the pilot, he is sitting there centered in the cockpit/airframe, rather than in his seat. From the outside, everything seems to be fine.
  18. Changelog online:
  19. ...macro for Joystick? Will test the rest of your guide on the weekend. Thanks
  20. To shorten the waiting time a bit.
  21. Same YT some 30 seconds later: ...as you can see on the bird in the background. And in some older vids too...so no worries Regards
